All true, this was all my experience and much, much more.  Cynthis is demonic, insane, fraudulent and totally incapable.  STAY AWAY FROM PROOF OF LIFE.  You will regret every moment wasted "working" for her, just as I did.

Cynthia Sweeley is totally insane, fraudulent and impossible to deal with on any level.  What Mary says directly mirrors my personal experience with Cynthia. Stay Far Away from her and her business - this cannot be stated strongly enough.  She lies, manipulates, cheats and files fraudulent taxt forms for employees in addition to harassing employees.  She is simply a horrible person, horrible busineess person and a total, fraudulent liar.  Again - STAY AWAY.  LISTEN TO MARY AND I - DO NOT WORK OR FOR HER OR GO INTO BUSINESS WITH HER.  She will be shut down soon - don't be another victim of her fraud.

Another one bites the dust folks.  Here is an individual who called me after surfing the internet back in 2008 and came across our award-winning website.  He was from another state and wanted to inquire about a franchise purchase.  When I told him the price he was as excited as a kid at Christmastime.  I have a heart for low-income people having suffered poverty once myself.  So my prices to own a franchise for an entire STATE in America was a ridiculously low $5,000.00!  The normal franchise costs $20,000 and UP.  Robert, my husband, got this individual started, handling all of the training, sent him boxes and boxes of supplies, and countless hours on the telephone answering his questions and concerns.  But  After 6 months, when he didn't become instantly rich he became hostile towards us in his emails and phone calls.  We went over and above the call of duty to make this self-centered loser successful but he was so angry over the lack of instant results that he accused us of selling him a business that was not 'duplicatable'.  I told him I have 50 salespeople who prove you otherwise.  They are selling 8-10 ads a week right now and some are even making $1,000/week.  He quit like a child throwing a temper tantrum and blamed us for HIS failures.

    GROW UP you immature loser!  YOU FAILED and don't have the maturity of a 5 year old so you refuse to accept responsibility for your own failures.  We moved heaven and earth to help you but you wouldn't WORK the business.  You were lazy and thought it should take off like a McDonalds franchise.  You want instant success?  Pay $500,000.00 for a McDonalds franchise!  Good luck with that.

I was browsing through the spam box in my email when I came across a notice from ROR saying someone had responded to my rebuttal (Menu Master and Cynthia Sweeley DID NOT turn my life around) that I had posted over a year ago.  Not sure what to expect, I poked in ripoffreport and was pleased to read your responses!  I appreciate your support and faith.  Im glad I was able to help. 

As for the generous offer from Tipped off in Tulsa for those emails, they are not necessary.  I am aware what she says about me and decided not to let it affect me.  I know what she says isnt true.  The people who know me know its not true, and, apparently from your response to my report, you didnt believe it either.  The best she can hope for is to convince people who have no connection to me into believing her, and that doesnt matter to me.  Why should I worry about what total strangers have been told about me?   And what she says only speaks of her character, not mine.  Besides, she cant help herself.  Shes just doing whats in her nature.  You cant blame the neighbors dog for howling all night.  Its just doing whats in its nature.  The same goes for her.

While I cant forget all the vindictive things shes done to me and my family, I can do what the Bible says and forgive her.  I dont believe shes wholly evil, just hurt and misguided.  At one point in our acquaintance we were very amiable towards each other.  She even told me I was her best friend, and when her third marriage was breaking up, it was my shoulder she cried on.  Its because of the friendship we once shared that I dont retaliate against her for all the trouble she stirs up.  I realize shes just hurting inside from our parting. Im sure once she gets past all her hurt she will understand why my friend and I had to leave her business.  

In spite of all the customers and employees who have told me how badly Menu Master has suffered since I left, I do not regret doing so.  Cynthias poor business practices and escalating irrational behavior was distressing me too much.  I could no longer stand by and watch her hurt both her business and other people that way. 

I do regret one thing though: That I wasnt there for her more when she was committed to the hospitals psyche ward in 2006.  I think if I had stuck it out and been there to support and help guide her, she might have been able to work though her issues and things might be different. 

As for her saying Im trying to destroy her, Im flattered, but shes just giving me way too much credit.  I would have to be in the CIA to do what shes accusing me of, and frankly life is too short and too precious to be consumed with revenge.  Ive gotten past our little falling out.  I harbor no ill will towards her.  I dont love her.  I dont hate her.  I nothing her.  Someday I hope she realizes I am no threat to her or her business and feels safe enough to quit vilifying me and just tries to get along.

You dont know me but I have heard PLENTY about you from your former employer Cynthia Amnell but I believe you might have known her as Cynthia Sweely.  I was considering a job with Proof of Life, a.k.a. Menu Master when I came across this website and thought better of it.  She is slandering you up, down and sideways.  Im fairly sure she was talking about you because she called you a dirty wetback and evil Mexican (her words, not mine) and you and your friend were kleptomaniacs, stealing everything from money out of the cashbox to toilet paper!  She claims you were fired for stealing from her, you stalk and harass her and about trying to get you and your friend put in jail on her false allegations.  She also mentioned you on Ripoff Report saying you are the one writing up all the reports so I thought Id check it out.  After reading your report and everyone elses and Cynthias own erratic and crazy antics, I believe you.  She blames you for every little thing that goes wrong for her and tells everyone who comes through her doors all the things I mentioned above.  You are her boogeyman.  She thinks you are responsible for everything from her failing business to the earthquakes in Haiti!   I think you should sue her a*s for slander and discrimination and if you give me your email address, Id love to send you some of her slanderous emails to help you.

I recently had an unpleasant encounter with the self same person and company via email and your postings saved me from having the same sad experiences happening to me. I never went to her office spewing about my problems, never took any of the so called counseling she tried to offer and certainly never asked to pray with her or for her to pray for me. She is a mean, petty little woman who delights in trying to exact revenge on people who piss her off.
Now, here are some facts: her business is far from the utopia she tried to make it out to be in her fake post. There are several unsatisfied customers and quite a few ex-employees that have been victimized by this so-called Christian. She was a tyrant to work for. She did try to cheat me and my former co-workers out of our final paychecks and, when that didn't work, barraged us with nasty and insane letters until finally we had to contact the police and eventually took her to court to stop the harassment. The day of the court case, she made false accusations about me and my husband (who, by the way, never did leave me like she claims but we are on our 14th year of happy matrimony) claiming we were abusing our daughter and even had the gall to send me a letter the next day bragging about what she did. When confronted by the police, she, of course, denied it and even offered to take a lie detector test but when she found out the cops had her letter and a phone record of the call she made, she backed out of that pretty quick. To this day, she still sends me the occasional whacko letter and does the drive-bys, which I have decided to, ignore and not reward her bad behavior with any sort of attentions. All these incidents are backed up with her letters and police reports to vouch for their validity.
Now, for a few confessions. I am fat. That part was true. A fact which I am neither ashamed of nor embarrassed by, and the obscenities she mentioned being shouted at me from cars were done so by her as she made one of her many drive-bys of my house when she's stalking me. I am half Mexican, also nothing for me to be ashamed of and should anyone have called me a racial slur, I would have popped them alongside the head. I was a grill cook for the cafeteria at Corning Asahi, a position I relinquished to be a housewife and mother when I married my husband and had our daughter. And my cat never really did drown in the pool. That was a little lie I made up when I wanted to go shopping one day and I needed to pick up my paycheck. What can I say? I'm a hell of an actress. My cat Harry passed away about a year ago of natural causes and the only hellish sufferings I ever had to endure were those of having to sit through Cindy's moronic blathering about being God's prophet and having her trying to force her ridiculous bible studies on us, which, I might add, she never could force me to attend.
But she is right about one thing though, you never will meet a woman quite like Cynthia Sweeley, unless you work at a mental hospital. In my opinion she is just an everyday combination of narcissist and sociopath (pretty big words for a supposed high school drop-out huh?) who uses religion to try and inflate her self importance. And if you're very lucky, you will never run into a woman like her. The only thing she ever introduced me to is how to file a restraining order.

Thank you, I thought what you were trying to pull on me was illegal, I'm glad you confirmed my suspicions. Please don't insult my intelligence with your convenient amnesia. Do you expect me to believe that somebody in your office was masquerading as you and trying to shake me down for money, all without your knowing of it? I may have been born at night, but I wasn't born last night. If that is indeed the case, I would suggest you open your office door once in awhile and check out what credit card scam your employees are up to.
I noticed that you chose not to address your wife's inappropriate behavior, which I deserve better than the half-hearted apology you offered up. Her call was unprofessional to say the least and possibly borders on phone threats, which is illegal. Did you choose to ignore it because of the embarrassment it caused you or do you assume that I am making a mountain out of a mole hill? Because I think if I brought it before a lawyer, he might take it very seriously. Or perhaps I'll just put a sound byte of it on my webpage to let the whole internet know what kind of people you are. You'll just have to cross your fingers and hope I'm not as crazy and malicious as your spouse.
I think we should both take away important lessons from this unpleasant experience. My lesson is not to trust everybody that claim to walk with the Lord and then try to scam you out of your credit card number in the same breath. Do not believe these other ripoff reports about Cynthia Sweeley and Menu Master - I am living proof that they are all vindictive lies made by former employees who are bitter because they lost the best jobs they will ever have! In fact, I know who wrote these lies because I worked with these people for 3 years!
I have known Cynthia Sweeley, owner of Menu Master for 10 of the 14 years she has owned and operated Menu Master Inc. And let me tell you, she is single-handedly responsible for saving my life! This woman is closer to God than any pastor I have ever known. Amazingly she is exactly what she claims to be - a real-live, true prophet of God, able to give you messages from God that will make you sob because there is no way she coud know the information she is giving you.
I was severely depressed when I met Cynthia by applying to work at Menu Master. I am obese, 225 lbs., and only 5'4" and get harrassed constantly on the streets by people driving by in their cars shouting obscenties like "Hog", "Cow", etc. which doesn't help my already low self-esteem. I had just been terminated from a 6 year job at Corning Glass due to their shut down. I am part Mexican and was constantly put-down with racial slurs during my employment there and after all those years slinging hash in the cafeteria, I still made only $6.00/hour!
Cynthia Sweeley and her husband were just a small, family-owned Christian business - Mom and Pop type - and they hired me to do telephone sales when no one else would hire me. I had applied at 22 different places and I was at the end of my rope. I had no sales experience and am a high-school dropout, but Cynthia was not bothered by that. In fact, my first impression of her was that she was the most accepting, non-judgemental person I've ever met in my 33 year old life. Within 2 weeks I asked her if my best friend could work for her also and after some hesitation she hired her as well.
The next several years were the best of my life. There is something about Cynthia that makes a person want to be their best, she inspires you that much. Several times I embarrassed myself by walking into her office, shutting the door and broke-down crying as I admitted to her, "This is the best job I have ever had in my life because of you".
She counseled her employees over any and every problem because she is a certified Christian counselor; she held 'kiddie days' allowing her employees to bring their children to work while we all pitched in with pot-luck meals; she began an 'Employee of the month' recognition program honoring one of us lucky employees with a $50.00 gift and awards and recognition ceremony; she offered paid holidays and gigantic cash bonus programs that any of us could reach if we stretched just a little bit. In short, Cynthia kept her promise to us on the day we were hired when said, "It is my goal to make this the best job you have ever had or ever will have".
Menu Master grew at an unbelievable rate during the years I was there; it seemed that it was bursting at the seems. Cynthia did everything humanly possible to please every advertiser who paid to be on her popular restaurant menus and placemats. She gave refunds even when her invoices said, 'Absolutely NO refunds whatsoever"; she gave free advertisements to angry customers over situations that were not the fault of Menu Master, worth $249.00; she gave, gave, gave to her advertisers until they were completely happy. I am convinced that this is why Menu Master has the highest renewal rate of satisifed customers of any other advertising company around. Cynthia's customers completely trust her and renew over and over again on her restaurant products.
My life fell apart when my husband George left me for another woman. Not even 4 days later my cat was found drowned to death in our swimming pool. The two events combined so close together left me suicidal and unable to function, to even take proper care of my daughter. Cynthia sat with me for an unbelievable 3 hours, counseling me during her work hours when she was desperately needed with urgent situations that only a President can handle! She prayed with me and offered me her famous 'prophecies', which I admit I scoffed at before. But when it was my turn to go thru hellish sufferings, let me tell you, I was not scoffing any more! I was sobbing my heart out and the words were true, accurate and sucked the breath right out of my body.
You will never find another woman like Cynthia and because of her, another company as amazing as Menu Master. Both will change your entire life forever if you are lucky enough to encounter them just one time in your life. You will discover as I did that Menu Master was actually the hand of God using the uniquely special woman, Cynthia Sweeley, to introduce you to knowing God Himself.

Dont insult me you know exactly who I am. The need to post my home state is irrelevant. Your address is the only one I was concered with getting published. Its not my address I want to warn people about. As you can tell by my Previous listing in my last paragraph it is made clear that I am not located in the Spring Mills area. I also see that you posted that you were the owner of the company how I scoff at that. Dont lie Robert you and I both know your not the owner of the company. That company and you are both run by your "wife". You sure like to brag about your franchise but as you suggested I took a look at your "website" and was not supprised to see all the previous franchise owners got wise to your game and you no longer have them.
I do have a question for you. Do you think that all those other franchise owners and the other people I noticed that posted items on here not to mention the post on mywoes.com are all just people that are jealous of you? Or that they are all crazy? Do you think you do anything wrong? Maybe just maybe the fault lies with you and your wife. Perhaps there are many flaws with the way you run your business or perhaps your the crazy ones. Surely all these people cant be wrong.
Dont even try telling me well we are in our whatever year of success so we must be doing something right. Its easy to catch a sucker you have had years of practice right? The only reason your still in business is because I am sure this is only a small fraction of people you have ripped off not everyone has posted or made public what you have done. Its easy to see by the sheer number of franchise owners you have already lost. Dont try and pull the wool over anyones eyes because I can see right through you. Dont bother responding because im not interested in your childish games.

It is hard for me to give any type of response to this as there is no specific information for me to address.

I am not sure as to the reason for all these negative responses about our company. I understand that it is impossible to please everyone, but I do try and do the best I can. If anyone has a problem with a company I would hope that they would use some type of different means as to resolve the issue rather than try and destroy someones character.

Why do we as humans resort to tearing people apart rather than give something some time and then go back to the individual and say what went wrong.

It is a shame that we as supposed "Americans" want to tear down our own walls. Remember we ALL make mistakes not just certain people.

I do not have any idea of where or when your situation occurred, I don't ever remember talking with you at all for that matter. I want to reassure you that it is not and never has been our policy to demand any payments up front for the franchise, that even violates Federal Trade Regulations on offering franchises. You are required to have in your possession our Uniform Franchise Offering Circular(UFOC) for a minimum of 10 days before anything can take place.
So I am sorry that you had this experience, but I assure you that it was not me you spoke with.

I am not one to waste my time with responding to reports but I must due to the nature of this supposed allegation against our company. I find it very interesting that the individual filing the report claims to be a franchisee in Spring Mills, Pennsylvania. If a person would like to visit our website www.menumaster1.com you will notice that our headquarters office is located in Spring Millls, Pennsylvania. Now any person would know that a business would not sell a franchise in its own territory of operation. This false claim(Spring Mills, Pa franchisee) by this supposed accuser leads to their own invalidity therefore no further comment is needed on my behalf for the remaining accusations.

I was looking to buy into a business recently and came across their web-ad and decided this might be a sound investment. Despite their flaky website (it's done up to look like the Arthurian legend, very juvenille) it seemed like a legitimate bussiness. I contacted the corporate office and first spoke to Robert Sweeley. The first thing he asked for was my address and phone number. Then he proceeded to pressure me into buying a franchise right over the phone claiming they can't send any materials out until they get a credit card down payment of $500.00! When I balked from just handing my credit card information out over the phone and told him I would like to hear more about this business, he became very defensive and transferred my call to his wife, Cynthia Sweeley.

Mrs. Sweeley came across very flighty, and just as pa franchisee and Matilda said, started claiming that she was a prophet of God and that God came to her in a Dream the night before and told her to sell me a franchise. When I asked for more information about her business, she told me her whole life story and droned on and on for almost an hour. At the end of our conversation, she asked me if I would like to come to their corporate office and pray with her.

After my bizarre phone call, I decided to google Menu Master and came across the Ripoff Report and SEVERAL other complaints about these people in MyWoes and other consumer websites. After reading these reports I decided it would be better if I invested my money elsewhere.

A few days after my phone call, I received in the mail a contract with a non-compete and a bill to buy the franchise! There was no literature about the business or anything. I decided to ignore this and threw it out in the trash. A few days after that, I received a call from Menu Master's corporate office asking if I received the contract in the mail. I said that I had and that I was sorry but I didn't think this was the business for me. Minutes after I hung up with the secretary, the owner of the company, Cynthia Sweeley called me back. If she was a prophet the first time I spoke with her on the phone, she was the anti-christ during the second call. She ranted that we had a verbal contract for me to buy a franchise and if I didn't send her $7500.00 and a signed contract within 10 days they would take me to court! I told her in no uncertain terms that I would not be sending her or her business any money and when she started with the religious smiting, I hung up the phone on her. My phone was ringing within seconds so I let the answering machine pick it up and it was Mrs. Sweeley again and she left a really snide message on my machine about how God told her that I was jealous of her success and that I probably couldn't afford to buy into her business anyway. She ended her message with "I'll see you in court".

THANK YOU RIPOFF REPORT! If it wasn't for your website and the people that blew the whistle on these crooks, I might very well be out of $7500.00 and possibly have a lawsuit on my hands. For anyone else thinking about buying a franchise from these people, DON'T DO IT! Check these people out first, there's complaints about them all over the internet. DON'T BE PRESSURED INTO HANDING OVER YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR TO SIGN ANY CONTRACT! I am just glad that I went with my gut feelings about these crazies and didn't get lulled into anything with their religious spin or their hometown cockamamie.

Don't feel too bad, they have been practicing this fraud for many MANY years and

are pros at it by now. They often sling the "God" angle at everyone they come in

contact with and once they have your name on the dotted line, thats when the

hell begins. You become a tool for their greed and when they've sucked every

dollar they can out of you, you're discarded like week old danishes. What they do

to their customers are even worse, pulling a bait and switch is just one of her

techniques, if your lucky. If you're not so lucky, they completely bumble your ad,

place it one the wrong placemats or it doesn't get placed for months, sometimes

even YEARS (I've actually seen where they didn't get an ad on a placemat until

after the company closed down!) and they claim it's the advertiser's fault! ALL SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
