This company charged me a membership fee of $330 for one year to sell their product. After listing in an ebay store I sould an ipod which turned out to be out of stock even though though thieir online 'warehouse' was showing stock availabe. I had to cancel that sale and cover my paypal fees.

Then when I had an inquiry on another sale I checked stock and their 'warehouse' listings had all disappeared. I then had to inform my potential customer and cancel all of my ebay store listings wnd incure the costs of listing with ebay.

I contacted Shopster aka SECURE2U INC. regarding cancelling my 'membership' which is less than a month old on a year membership. They have refused to issue any refund what so ever.

They have not been able to provide any of the products I have listed and I can not keep incurring the costs of paypal fees and ebay liting fees for trying to sell non existant stock!

Why is my report on Shopster Blacked-out? Report: #246214

The report is no longer viewable. It's all in black. You can't read. If it is not repaired, I will start a new report. I have more information regarding Shopster and how they rip-off the consumer.

I Also Reported Shopster

AUTHOR: Randy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 07, 2007

I also reported Shopster to RipoffReport.com and a complaint to the BBB. This company is very misleading and deceptive. In ad banners Shopster claims "Wholesale" prices on over 700,000 products. They also pull you to their website by using terms like "Unlimited profits". They use price as a factor to get you to join, but once you do, price no longer becomes a factor to Shopster.

In fact, they will tell you "Price isn't everything." "Customers are more interested in content rather than price." "We know we don't have the best prices." The fact is, a recent survey shows 85% of consumers who do purchase online feel competitive prices is the number 1 reason they shop online. Shopster is clearly nout to rip off the consumer and they creatively hide behind their marketing schemes.

Just Checking out the company...

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 02, 2007

David,
I too was looking for a drop shipper so as to start an Ebay store. I always check out companies before I do any business with them. And I have to be honest with you, this company seems really legit. There was only one complaint against them, you. And thats pretty good. Just one.

However what I couldn't help but to comment on is this. Part or most of your membership fees are to also provide you with your own oline store. Why are you messing with Ebay? It seems maybe if you were selling in your own store on your own website maybe you would have avoided these problems, and you would be now making money selling. Just my thoughts, thats how I see it.

Sorry that it didn't work out for you, and sorry you didnt realize a good company when you had it right under your nose, because theres alot of scams out there, beware of other dropshippers. Go look up a few of them, just type in any search box dropshippers. Get a company name and look them up here in Rip off Reports. See what ya find!

As for me I'm going with shopster.com

After discussing this issue with our senior management, we have reconsidered your refund request.

Our preference would have been to work with you to correct the situation, however we understand that your initial experience was unsatisfactory.

The total amount of $329.99 has been fully refunded. You should expect to see this back on your credit card in the next few days.

Sincerely,

Shopster E- Commerce, SECURE2U, Calgary Alberta - their reply & mine

Hi,

I shall reply to you point-by-point.

Hello David,

We are continually working to improve our system and appreciate your feedback regarding the problem with a data feed for the product you ordered.

My feedback concerns several products which I had
listed for auction and I had to cancel those auctions when I discovered your 'warehouse' listings disapeared after I had listed those auctions - trying to start out how can a person afford this?!?

Our records indicate that there was only 1 order placed through your account. Unfortunately, it was on a product that contained a glitch in the data feed. Since you brought this to our attention, we taken steps to remove this specific product from the warehouse. Our expectation is that our customers will conduct a fair test of the Shopster solution, which would involve more than 1 order.

Yes, that was the sale I had that I had to cover
paypal fees and as well as the ebay listing fees and that item still shows ten is stock after you 'fixed' that problem - as for the several other items I had listed and had to cancel due to them disapering from your 'warehouse' listings and also incur listing fees for your unreliable service - my expectation is to
have a reliable supplier so I would be able to
complete an auction! A cancelled sale due to out of stock and several more cancelled due to items no longer listed in your 'warehose is unacceptable!

In regards to your eBay inquiry, our auction selling rules and instructions are clearly outlined on our websites. Here is a quick summary of some of the key points:

And your site is suppose to be ebay auction
friendly...hmmmm I have not experienced this and I am very unhappy with your shoddy service.

Although every effort is made to keep stock as accurate as possible, it is your responsibility to ensure that what you market on eBay is available when your auction is complete.

How can I ensure when your 'warehouse' listing is
unrealiable as the out-of-stock item you fixed is
still showing or they disappear a few days into an auction?!?

We have no way of anticipating what might be sold in anyones auction. Sales activity within the Shopster warehouse is ongoing which means that products will be depleted from time to time, as is the case with any supplier.

I can see what you mean - However, when I lose due to an out of stock item and that 'fixed' item is still showing stock AND several other items vanished from your warehouse I feel that is a very poor track record indeed.... and you wonder why I am unhappy and want a refund and to cancell after 17 days of losing money!?!

Our recommendation is to purchase the items you feel give you the best opportunity for success on eBay and have it available at your home when a successful auction is completed.

If I am going to purchase items to have on hand
does that not defeat the idea behind low start up
costs and the reson of having a dropshipper???

If you choose to speculate based on our stocking levels please understand that this is a risk you choose to accept and Shopster will not be responsible for a lost auction sale due to stock.

After a lost auction, paypal fees, ebay listing
fees an all of my cancelled listings due to vanising stock and your bogus membership I would rather speculate on the lotto - I stand a better chance. For I must say from my experience your 'stock' does not remain as long as an ebay auction.

Subscription fees are non-refundable, as stated on our website. If an annual subscriber decides to end their subscription they will not be billed for their next year and their account will be terminated.

I wonder the real reason a years membership is not refundable after 17 days of a years membership.... to prorate and refund is a normal practice for any reputable legimate company - and if I cancell and accept your terms I will not be billed for next year?

Just what does that suppose to mean when I would not be here for next year?!? I know if I keep listing your items on ebay I will keep on losing sales due to out of stocks and cancelling listings due to vanishing 'stock'

I see a fair refund for an unhappy customer is
something not in your business practices - that you would rather just take and take and not provide - then deny deny deny.

Sincerely,

Shopster E-commerce Inc.

Shopster E- Commerce, SECURE2U, Calgary Alberta - dates of payment etc.

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 04, 2006

The date of transaction that I paid for this 'membership' was 09/15/06 and I first requested to cancell and recieve a refund on 10/02/06. So far they have refused to issue any refund. That would be $330 for 17 days - that works out to $19.42 per day plus the expense of fees on my end which I do not expect or ask to be compensated for - all I am asking is for a fair refund.
