Recently my wife purchased a double pack DVD setPraise to the Man and Spencer W. Kimball. Manufactured and distributed through a local bookstore by The Living Scriptures.
The Praise to the Man DVD was found in the packaging and is in good working order. However, imagine our surprise when we opened the DVD titled Spencer W. Kimball and there was no DVD but, instead a flyer directing us to call now for a free DVD. The very same DVD that she and I both thought was already paid for.

This is deceptive advertising. With two packages the consumers is misled to believe there are two DVD's. Upon purchasing and discovering there are not, the consumer must give their contact information in order to receive the free DVD, which wasn't really free after all... because now they can be contacted by a salesman that can coerce them into signing a contract comparable to a deal with the devil. Living Scriptures has extremely corrupt business practices.

This is deceptive advertising at it's finest. They have two packages so the consumers is misled to believe there are two DVD's. Then upon purchasing and discovering there are not, the consumer must give their contact information in order to receive the free DVD, which wasn't really free after all... because now they have exposed themselves to be contacted by a dishonest salesman who can hopefully coerce them into signing a contract. Their contracts are comparable to a deal with the devil. Living Scriptures has extremely corrupt business practices.

"Praise to the Man" was a special marketing promotion offred to customers which, allowed discounted pricing on that particular DVD as well as an offer for a free DVD reflecting the life of Spencer W. Kimball.
The packaging contained the wording "Get the exclusive Spencer W. Kimball DVD free" This wording was followed by an asterisk stating "Spencer W. Kimball DVD available free with redemption offer inside. Customers were not ripped off, they simply called the office for the DVD to be sent to them. They did not have to pay any thing extra to obtain the product.
Any customer who purchased the Praise to the Man video, and did not call for the free Spencer W. Kimball DVD, is still entitled to receive that DVD simply by placing a call to Living Scriptures requesting it.
