Hello

This Complaint is about Wal-Mart!
Yester Day I went shopping at Wal-Mart I get my items and make my way to the check out stand, the lady starts to scan my items and she is doing a pretty good job. But she forgot to give me one of my bags with my stuff in it that I Paid for, I noticed this after I got home and got all the bags inside and unpacked and put up my grocery's up. So I noticed my dish soap scrub pads was not in any of the bags, so I take my receipt back to the wal-mart and talked to a person at the customer service desk. Okay I get the d**n run around, I explained the situation saying I did not get the bag with my two items in it then he pops off how do I know your not TRYING to get free items? I said ask my wife she was with me and she did not see them either. So we go over to the check out stand and the same girl was working I asked her if she noticed she forgot to give me the bag with my dish soap and scrub pads? She says no I did not see any dish soap or scrub pads with your items. I was like what? They are on my receipt and I was charged for theses two items how can you say that? Then the manager accuses me of trying to scam Wal-Mart for Merchandise I said NO! I did not have the bag or the two items he says well I cant help you. I said thank you very much I guess I have to pay for the items twice because your STUPID employee did not pay attention to her job or when she was placing the items in the bags And she probly seen she Did not give me the bag so she placed the items aside for her returns at the end of her shift. Leave it to Wal-Mart to give a customer the Shaft on something he had paid for what a way to rip off the public.

It's a shame to see this I been shopping at this Wal-Mart for over 5 years, and when I do have a problem they will not honor the complaint and just blow me off like I was trying to steal from them. All I wanted was my dish soap 2.97$ and my scrub pads 1.87$ I know that's not much but the point is why should I pay for the items twice?

If it happened to them an employee I bet they are taken care of with no Questions asked!!!

(SIDE NOTE)
We had 2 inches of sleet and ice fall and i drove back to Wal-Mart in this bad weather and road conditions because of there mistake.

Walmart employee mistaken

AUTHOR: Anaisnun - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 05, 2009

The Walmart employee who previously posted that the policy regarding returns/left behind items at Walmart is standard business practice is mistaken.
Many stores have different policies, I'll state only 2 for example, but they are in the majority -Walmart's policies on this are definitely more draconian than most.

Safeway/Von's grocery stores: I don't know the written policy, but I didn't find an expensive but tiny item of over the counter medicine in my bags not long ago and called them explaining what didn't make it in my bag with my other purchases. I was told to come back in, it had been found in the bottom of the cashier's area after I'd left. My word was all I needed.
Nordstrom: They have a very liberal return policy. If it is an item they sell or have sold in the past, you can return it for cash or exchange.
All sorts of large and small businesses- if you buy an item and leave it behind or come back quite soon after your purchase and discover it's not the item you need, if the cashier or owner remembers you it is not hard to do your business minus the receipt.

walmart emp is wrong

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 30, 2008

The walmart employee is wrong.

At any biz, even if the customer left behind stuff, its in the stores interest to either assist in replacing the items, or to credit the customer.

In my own case, even if I were to leave behind somehting....if the store doesnt help me either find the bag or replace the contents... I would get very very angry and sue the store.

Have successfully sued stores in the past and helped get two stores shutdown (put out of biz on one) ... for being very beligerent in helping those with lost purchases.

Your problem is not Wal-Marts problem

AUTHOR: Chan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 25, 2008

Many customers forget to grab their bags after paying for them. The most probability of this happening is the customer is talking on their phone while at the register not puting bags into their cart as they are packed or they are doing other things not paying attention to their items being purchased.

I understand your frustration but if everyone would pay closer attention to what was going on with their purchases it would eliminate the problem and make the register lanes run more smoother and also make you happier because you know you purchased everything at the right price and know that everything you purchase you took with you so you don't have to make the extra trip out- besides why would you want to make a trip out in bad weather it was only soap and soap pads.

Another thing to say to all customers shopping at any store is that gas prices are so high right now you would only be doing yourself a favor of making sure you got everthing so you wouldn't have to waste your gas and time. Anytime you relize you forget something it is always a good thing to call the store so customer service can track it down before it does get put back on the shelfs.

Corporate, and not perfect, but not evil

AUTHOR: Jules - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 16, 2008

I work for Wal-Mart, and the situation you describe sounds like an exception rather than the rule. When a customer leaves a bag of purchased items in the store, the cashier has to report it to the manager. The items are then placed in the customer service area for a certain amount of time -not sure how long- so that if the customer returns with their receipt, it is there for them. You do need your receipt- let's face it, any company would make you prove you bought the items, otherwise anyone could walk in and claim to have left merchandise.

My husband once left a cd at the register. When he called from home, the store manager told my husband that it had not been turned in, but they would replace it if he brought in his reciept. No arguements, no fuss. Keep in mind that there is no way this manager could have known that I am an associate, as I do not work at that store and was not involved with this transaction.

Now, WM is not perfect in any way, and sometimes mistakes happen, but customer service is the #1 goal- if you are not satisfied with your treatment at the store level, you need to contact the h*o, There are several avenues for this, available in the "Contact Us" section of the WM website, www.walmartstores.com. I know that these complaints are reviewed- I have answered many, many of them myself for my department. One thing to keep in mind though- While WM will do what it can to make things right, as consumers, it is ultimately our own responsiblity to make sure we leave each store with the items we have purchased.

Sad, really!

AUTHOR: Duncan99 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 05, 2008

I've experienced the same thing over and over. Say its the consumers fault, say its the employees fault, does it really matter? What matters is customer service. When you notice that items are missing from your "shopping trip" or you paid for items that you didn't get, Walmart should handle the complaint responsibly.

Case in point, I shopped at a local Walmart on Saturday, yesterday which was Tuesday I noticed that I was missing an item. Then today, Wednesday we noticed that we were missing another item. So I called the Walmart and asked if they found a bag on Satuday which contained the items that I was missing, I was told that they did have my items and that I needed my receipt to pick up the items. I was sure that I had thrown my receipt away, so I just chalked it up as a loss.

It bothered me a little, that even though I described the exact items that were left behind as well as the time and day (which by the way matched the LOG that they are required to LOG the left behind items in) Walmart policy would not allow me to pick up the items without a receipt to prove that I paid for them.

Lucky for me, I came home from work, put some latex gloves on a dug through my garbage. I found the receipt.

And for the record, the items that I was missing were items that were scanned last on my receipt.

I won't say that I will never shop there again, because I will, Walmart has the best prices around, but I will be more proactive in checking the bagging station spinning thing for ALL my bags.

POSTED: Sunday, January 21, 2007

I had the same situatioin a couple of months ago with similar items and I didn't go back because I felt that I was going to be ridiculed by their "Customer Service" personnel and it was not worth my aggravation and time.

I shop at Walmart because of their convenience and mostly good prices, but when you mess up and forget a bag, you are SOL, because they won't believe you.

From now on, I double check the "spinner" with the bags to make sure that I didn't forget something.

How About

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 13, 2007

How about "I forgot to pick up one of my bags and walked out of the store with one of my bags with two items that I had paid for". I notice that the cashier's spin the rounder and look to see if anything is left in any of the bags. From the sound of it the two items were probably sitting in the bootom of a bag and weren't see by either the cashier or YOU. Here's another suggestion. Next time you leave something at a store. Wait until the weather improves. That way you won't risk your life in 2 inches of sleet and snow in bad weather and road conditions for $4.84.

just say no to walmart

AUTHOR: Lee Ving - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 13, 2007

This among many other reasons is why I won't shop at that craphole. They have that circular nest of cheap plastic bags that is designed to obfuscate the user and cause him to not get his bags. And this is in addition to the fact that they more than likely overcharged you for the goods they didn't give you. Wal-Mart is public enemy #1 in the CA for not charging the correct price.

I myself got so fed up with searching for my stuff and being overcharged that I stopped going there.

So think about it, Wal-Mart rips you off three ways:
1. Overcharges at the register
2. Steals your items
3. Piss poor customer service by having no baggers, or any other employees for that matter.

Also, I always found it amazing that after they put their competition under they would raise their prices through the roof, and then constantly be out of stock. The stores resembled state run communist outlets, no stock, high prices and piss poor service.

You're best to stay out of this place. It's run by inbred, redneck, racist, southern drunkards who think they're above the law.

The good news is that they're now painfully aware of their poor public image and are attempting to change. I doubt they will though.
