I was previously employed with this company. I have not been fully paid for the services that I provided for this company. When I was paid, it would take the owner, Justin Sheets, weeks to pay me after continuously calling him and asking for payment.
The service I provided for him was Fugitive Recovery. Not only is the job dangerous, but requires a lot of time. I put my life on the line, wear and tear on my vehicle, fuel and paid for paperwork on cases (that was never reimbursed).
Other than myself, there have been 7 other employees that have quit over the last couple of months for the same reasons. He will not pay his employees and lies to you about when he was paid from Bondsman's.
I would go into his office to ask him about payment and he would show me his new guns he had purchased or new office equipment (which he did not need), but yet I was there having to beg for my pay.
Justin Sheets is a habitual liar. He would tell one employee one thing and tell another employee another thing. When employees finally got together, we all found out the different lies he would tell to each one of us.
Even his Senior Agent has recently quit. This person was even a personal friend of his and is tired of the inconsistencies.
Praetorian Services does offer Bail Recovery, CCW, Less Lethal and Arrest Control classes. He over charges for supplies and teaches the bare minimums in the Bail Recovery. He does this because he says that he does not want to bring in competition.
Though he offers these classes, he is currently fighting within the State for Bail Recovery Agents to be required to attend a 2 week Academy. All agents who have taken his course or any others will not be grandfathered in (by his request) and will have to pay for the 2 week course (more money in his pocket).
As an employee, he even charged his own agents to attend all his courses and only gave a small percentage off of the course price. That was what he called the "alumni" price, which is offered to everyone else that takes more than one of his courses.
I don't want to see any other Agents being taken by this individual. He comes across as a Professional Business owner and talks as if he is the one and only agency out there that is successful. He will persuade you, but you will eventually find out that he wont pay you.
Justin Sheets needs to attend some courses himself. He needs to attend a business course in Corporate Culture and learn how to treat subordinates.
I have all proof documented to back my allegations. Please do your self a favor and keep your money in your pocket and out of his!

Still Being Attacked By This Couple

Today I found some disturbing links associated with myself and one of my old sites. There have been many false claims and documents have been altered on several of our company sites. These are similar stories that the previously mentioned couple began making to destroy my reputation about my history, military experience, my training experience and so on. I am working on remedying this as we speak. It is unfortunant that nearly a year after hiring these individuals, I am still dealing with their issues against me.
I welcome anyone that wishes to know about my experience, job and training history and my military experience to contact me directly. There is no secret to where and what I have been in the past.
Thanks

This posting is clearly posted by Shawn and/or his wife. All employees and former employees have verified that this is obviously Shawn and/or his wife since they are the only two that continually say the same story.
This matter is closed and the issue is over. We have clearly proved our point and proved that the claims against me and the company are false.
I expect that there will be no more postings on this issue and that hopefully everyone can move on with their lives.

I am a previous employee of the company. Justin is claiming that I am the one who posted the complaint. I have not posted anything about him. I was not even aware that his senior agent quit. I was advised by him not to contact him anymore otherwise he would sue me. After I was finally paid by him, I figured we were finally done with each other.
Justin - Please find who else it was that posted this about you. You told me not to contact you anymore and I am trying to obide by that. There is law's against slander which I am aware of and so should you by your accusations against me. Please speak with rip off report to see about having it removed and leave me out of this. Also, before you accuse someone of doing something, maybe you should check first before you decide write accusation about them. This is called "investigating".

REPOSTING OF REBUTTAL
AUTHOR: JP_PSG - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, September 30, 2009
My name is J.P. Sheets. I am one of the owners of Praetorian Services Group, LLC in Denver Colorado. This post is in rebuttal to Ripoff Report posted about me and my company.
The individuals that posted this are former contractors of my company. As of todays date, they have been fully paid for all of the services provided (I will explain that later). These two are husband and wife and were contracted by us as Fugitive Recovery Agents and Investigators for the Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (a subsidiary of Praetorian Services Group, LLC). Shortly after we hired them, we noticed that there were going to be issues with the two of them. We received complaints from clients and from fellow employees about these two individuals.
Prior to the decision to terminate or relationship with these them, we were having a lot of issues with their level of integrity. We caught them in lies on business issues, and they even were untruthful to us about personal issues. I did a check into their backgrounds and found that many of the credentials, qualifications and previous work history they gave us or told us were not true and were falsified (including the claim that one of them currently worked for the FBI).
About the time we were agreeing on the termination, I was served legal documents about a civil matter involving these two and third party. For the last three months I was wrapped up in this civil matter (as the so called employer). At the time I owed one of them money for a job, however I felt it more necessary to hold on to the funds to determine how the courts decided I pay them to ensure I did it legally (I can discuss this more in private if interested). As of September 25th, 2009 I was cleared by the County Courts to pay money to the contractor and not have any legal obligation to do anything else with it. I have received numerous calls from other businesses looking for the whereabouts or contact information of these two, and I have cooperated with them (which is one reason I feel they have a vendetta against the company and myself).
Anyone in the Bail Recovery Business (that has done it long enough) knows that it is a hard business to survive in. Bondsmen don't pay on time and you only get paid if you catch the fugitive (sometimes the bondsman still doesn't pay). According to the contracts with all my Recovery Agents, you only get paid once I get the money from the Bondsman/Client. That is an industry standard and nothing new. I do not reimburse for expenses since you are a sub-contractor an not an employee (bondsman do the same thing). I have paid on every case that we ever got paid on, and most the time I paid bonuses on top of that (which I was never required to do). These two individuals felt somehow entitled to getting paid regardless of closing cases and did not have a full grasp on the contracts and industry standards regarding to pay issues.
As in 7 other employees quitting. There were only 3 that quit and not for the reasons stated. Most of the Recovery Agents working with us have had to find other employment to supplement their income due to the fact that they could not make enough money as Recovery Agents alone to survive. One Agent quit because of the drama around the termination of the two individuals posting the Ripoff Report and felt he needed to separate completely. My lead agent is tired of the recovery business and the issues the industry has and has decided, as I have also decided, to get out of the Bail Recovery business.
As in the classes. Employees get a discounted fee on the classes, we do not pay for the certification courses because these certifications stay with the student long beyond their employment with us and we do not require long term employment contracts to help pay for the cost of the training (we did do a lot of free in-house training as well). The prices on all the courses we offer are most the time less than anyone else teaching a similar class. As in the statement of teaching the bare minimum, well thats just incorrect. Anyone can look into it themselves. We are the only school with the reputation of exceeding the minimum requirements set by the state and that is why we have the best reputation in the industry on the class (yet we dont charge more than the other guys to do less than us). I do feel that there needs to be more training requirements for those entering the Bail Recovery Industry. This is a simple reason: Anyone over the age of 18 that does not have a felony can complete an at-home course or 16 hour course on just basic laws and be certified by the State of Colorado to arrest and chase down wanted individuals. This is why the "Bounty Hunter" has such a bad reputation and there is no respect for the industry. I want to see it where more people have to have better training and qualifications to do this job (similar to Law Enforcement). It has nothing to do with the competition. My clients laugh at me when they find out that I certify others to do the same thing and this is such a cut-throat business (cause I am creating competition). I tell them that I welcome competition and hope that someone I trained and certified becomes more successful than I ever have (it is a complement to me!).
As in showing off guns and buying new furniture. These two obviously did not pay attention to what our company does. We are primarily an Executive Protection Firm and Security Consulting Firm. I have around 62 Agents alone in that part of my business and that is where 95% of the company's revenue comes from. This money is in no way tied up with the Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (in which the two worked for) and it is my primary source of income both personally and in the business. What I choose to do with that money is up to me, and does not in any way belong to or owed to the two (as they have voiced to me before it does), since it did not come from contracts they were a part of.
I have an excellent reputation that can be verified in many ways with many people. I am the only one of my kind that is approved by Tom Martino the consumer advocate (www.TomMartino.com), I am accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an "A" rating, I have 100's of letters of referrals and recommendations from former clients, students and businesses I work with. I can provide these to anyone that needs to see them. I have close to 100 employees and contractors that would attest to my reputation and would say they prefer working with my company than any others they have worked with in the past!
Anyone may contact me directly at 303-872-7750 x 707 for any questions, comments or for proof or documentation to back up my claims in this rebuttal. If you look online, this is the only complaint on my company ever (in 10 years of business) and it is only by these two (former emplyees that were fired)!
I am sad that my company name is being dragged into this. Anyone that knows anything about this situation knows enough about these two and the issues I have had with them. I wish they would move on and be a problem for someone else!
