San Antonio, TXFriends, if you're looking for other websites to post your bad experiences with companies, be VERY careful if you post anything on 'freespeechstore.com'. Our company received an e-mail alert from this website stating that someone had complained about our business. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY WEIRD.
I pulled up the website, and sure enough, a nameless person posted a complaint about our company. We work hard to please our customers, and we offer a full refund if they're the LEAST bit satisfied. NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GET'S EVEN MORE WIERD.
I could not access the full complaint from this nameless person unless I agreed to give my credit card number over the internet. Yep, I had to pay $3.99 for the privilege of seeing what was said about our firm. I was skeptical, so I e-mailed the freespeechstore.com people and asked them to let me know more about their operation. No response.
The next day, I sent another e-mail to them - no response. I did some checking and found the 'registered owner's name' for the website. I sent a polite e-mail to the person listed, and within a few minutes I received a hateful reply telling me that I was a 'loser' for not paying with my credit card to get more info.
THINK THAT'S AS WIERD AS IT GETS? I did even more checking on the listed owner's 'name' and found it was Margaret Morice. Upon doing a Yahoo search, I found numerous complaints about 'Margaret Morice' and discovered that the Morice name is an alias and that the REAL owner of the website is supposed to be a Mr. Richard Morton Scoville of San Antonio. Mr. Scoville is apparently a known internet scam artist, spam-mailer, and much more including telephone harrassment, criminal behavior and more and more.
So, here's the bottom line. If you are unhappy with a company you did business with, report them here to ripoffreport.com and give the company an opportunity to respond and make it right. There's two sides to every story and neither side should be for sale, especially with someone of 'questionable character' like this Scoville guy and his absurd site called 'freespeechstore.com'. BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!
We are in the process of turning him and his business over to the local, state and national authorities.

See the new relevant web site for this speech. It looks like AmeriSpec has issues! These folks put of a rebuttal to this speech without even reading it! I knew they were CHEAP, but only after reading their report! By the way, being HONEST, has nothing to with performance, i.e., QUALITATIVE WORK!
Recently AmeriSpec was engaged to do a comprehensive home inspection and I was very much disillusioned! The inspector left windows opened, the thermostat was not replaced to its original position costing me energy and money, outdoor light switches marked as not working were activated by 'light sensors', many things were not left in the original condition as found by the inspector. This company probably is one whom's report reflects whether you are the homeowner or possibly a purchaser! I was not happy with the quality of the inspection!

Now, I am getting UNSOLICITED JUNK mail from this shoddy company.
Well finally... we get to the root of the entire problem.
I'd like to thank you, Mr. Scoville, for finally contacting me (through this website) to tell me why you've been so outraged and upset. Even though you've chosen some rather strange ways to vent (posting your complaint using a different name on your own obscure website) nevertheless, now I know what's been bothering you. And I'd like to thank the folks who run THIS website for providing their forum free of charge, or I might not have even heard from you.
Yes, it appears a potential homebuyer did hire our professional services to inspect your home on Lullwood Drive in San Antonio. I reviewed our records and found that our licensed, professional inspector performed his work in full accordance with the strict state laws that govern what we do. In fact, we received high compliments from the potential buyer who evidently decided in the end not to purchase your home for whatever reason. Compliments so high that he has used our services yet again on another home. We do good work. Thousands of satisfied clients (buyers AND sellers) tell us that every year.
Are we perfect? No sir. We strive to leave one's home in an undisturbed fashion, and if we fell short after spending 2 to 4 hours in your residence inspecting more than 400 items then we sincerely apologize, and we would have welcomed your complaint immediately after you discovered the issues. Failing to return the thermostat to it's 'original setting' was an error (we are required to run both the heat and the a/c during our visit), but that along with a couple of other inconveniences hardly rates the rather bizarre attack approach you've taken against our well respected company... but hey, you're free to act as you choose.
And yes, I did choose to not pay you $4 for the privelege of reading your anonymous complaint on your website. That appeared to further 'set you off'. In an effort to reach what appeared at first to be an unhappy client, I learned a great deal more about you through other sources that have, according to them, had several issues with you threatening and harming their companies as well.
The 'junk' e-mails you falsely claim to be getting from our company have hardly been junk. We have been replying to your constant e-mails in an effort to get you to quit sending us non-stop sales pitches to pay for stories on your website. And you did receive an e-mail from us (your site invites feedback) that basically told you to please quit bothering us.
You have also resorted to threatening our parent company office in Memphis, Tennessee with frivolous lawsuits... you even demanded $100,000 in cash because I posted factual information about your dealings with us on this website. You gave us 24 hours to remove the story or you would sue us. You were truly yelling at the top of your lungs through your keyboard.
In a sincere effort to protect our company against what we perceived as possible troublesome threats to our business, I chose to gather as much information about you as possible through legal means so that we could make an informed decision on what to do about your possible actions. I do not regret my decision and I will continue to protect what our employees have worked so hard to build. We will let the appropriate people deal with that because frankly sir, we have a business to run and our area of expertise is not chasing down people who may abuse the internet. That job belongs to others, and we trust they will perform.
If you still wish to discuss anything we may have done wrong while we professionally inspected your home, feel free to write to us or call our office. Our company's phone number is public... unlike some, we have nothing to hide. I will be more than willing to have a rational, adult-level conversation with you about your concerns.

We decided to remove the home from the marketplace and continue living in the 'wonderful' home! Had you paid the $3.99, as many have to read about your company(ies), you also could have communicated with the author, anonymously, until the author felt comfortable in giving you their personal information, unlike this site. Farewell, Richard Scoville. You evidently need to keep shouting, so I'll let you have the stage. Just a few thoughts before I leave you to continue your diatribe:
1. Yes, I am the General Manager of the San Antonio AmeriSpec franchise... a successful local family owned business that will continue to be successful despite your best efforts to harm us, and yes I'm sure those at the executive level are pleased with my work and how I've chosen to confront your silly but strange actions against AmeriSpec.
2. I begun to have pity for you... a man in his late fifties who probably doesn't have a lot of close friends or much of a social life because he's too busy yelling through his computer at those who are more successful than he is.
3. I'll let my actions and my words speak for themselves, and because of that I'm sure any rational person will see that I have been more than patient with you. However, your actions and your words tell a troubling tale.
4. You keep demanding that people send you all this money by giving their credit card information to a complete stranger. I'll make you a friendly challenge: this website, ripoffreport.com is provided to the public free-of-charge but they accept donations. Are you going to donate to them since you've taken up their valuable space for free? I'll gladly send them a dollar, and they're classy enough to be thankful for it. They're also classy enough that if I didn't send them a dollar, they wouldn't go 'postal' about it. Sound familiar?
5. Your constant posting of my name and others from our company on this website doesn't bother us. It simply draws more attention to what I told you in fact #2: we at AmeriSpec meet all kinds of people (mostly nice people) in the course of our work, but... we sometimes meet people who just aren't part of mainstream society who need pity. And when we do, we do our best to be gentle but since we aren't licensed and professional psycologists (we are in the real estate inspection business) we sometimes don't know how to respond.
6. It's become apparent to anybody who has watched your 'saga' unfold that though you think you had a 'beef' with our company, you were never interested in solving it. You were never going to contact us about it. You had no goal of a resolution. What you wanted to to was attempt to shame us... to ridicule our employees... to yell and scream and intimidate us through your keyboard... and to use your alledged 'beef' with us to add to the other questionable content on your bizarre website. Sadly, Richard, the only person you have brought shame on and ridiculed has been Richard Scoville. In fact, you even called your self 'dissillusioned'... I'll just leave that comment hanging.
I'm sure you'll respond with more rantings about this and that as you have done. No doubt you'll keep using my name and the names of other AmeriSpec associates. You might even think that Jonathan P. Ward (CEO of Service Master) is somehow paying attention to you. I highly doubt it. You might wrongly think that we're losing sleep over it or that we're cowering in our offices waiting for your next move. And like I said, you'd be wrong. We're too busy running a successful business and serving our clients (and you've never actually been our client) to spend any further time trying to guess your next wierd move.
I will leave you with this: you've made threats against us, and you apparently have a track record of making threats against other business people that I've personally spoken with about you. If any harm of any type ever comes to our business through internet abuse in any fashion, you will be held accountable even if you claim you didn't do it. You can count on that. Dealing with Richard M. Scoville is a waste of time
I have been amused to read the back and forth between Brent of AmeriSpec and Richard Scoville of 'freespeechstore.com'. Howver, if, as I understand it, one of the aims of ripoffreport.com is to foster a settlement in a dispute, then this aim can only be met if both parties motivations are fair. The evidence suggests this is not the case for Mr. Scoville:
1. He has been posting provocatively in several on-line forums, perhaps, at best, to drive traffic to his website, see:

Richard Morton Scoville can't be reasoned with. This is a man who spends all day posting under various monikers to his own obscure sham site, then spamming the people he writes about, in an attempt at drawing them in to his website and getting them to pay to read what he's written.
He's also a usenet spammer, and he continually harasses anti-spammers on the NANAE (news.admin.net-abuse.email) newsgroup. He's been at it for literally years.
In fact, on usenet, RMS is known as 'FreeSpeechWhore', because he's selling free speech... shouldn't free speech be free?
He's also a well-known kook who's been booted off several web hosts and ISPs for his kookish ways.
If you do your due diligence on this person, you will quickly learn to avoid him and his scam website.
