Don't you ever sign any papers and don't you ever believe in any promises at Penn Toyota. Up on signing all sales papers, they have promised to me to pay registration fees for my new car. The next day all those fees were included in my bill. Also, more than $700 was included in my bill with no explanation. What a scam. Bring your lawyer if you want to buy here.

Well.... another 2 service advisors have quit Penn Toyota. One who was one of the best advisors I have ever worked with. He too moved one to better working conditions at another dealership... Even the parts department has lost a key member to another dealership. It obviously does not take employees long to realize what this dealership is about.. RIPPING OFF customers and treating their employees like garbage.
All my posts should serve as a lesson... AVOID PENN TOYOTA...

In response to Mr. Penn's accusation of my ripping customers off. I always charged cash paying customers what Toyota warranty pays the dealership, which is the fair/legal amount. Please do not get into slander... It might get you into trouble in the future.... and lord knows you do not need anymore lawsuits than you already have.

Mr. penn.. you ordered us to rip off customers. You instruct your employees to sell extremely hard and to rip off customers. If we did not sell for you - you let the employee go. Criminal charges should be brought against you.

I never once in my 9 months of working for your G-D awful dealership did I ever have a charge back. As far as my CSI ( customer satisfaction Index), I failed at your dealership because of the people you surrounded me with while in your employ.

You did not hire professional - you hired idiots with no experience and I was the fool to train them for you. Your dealership is the ugliest dealership on Long Island and one of the lowest still even 1 year since I worked for you. Yes..

I did go to work for another dealership where was CSI was 93.4 percent - that got me top billing at that dealership and I still put up excellent numbers. You need to get out of the auto business because not only do you not know how to run a dealership properly, but you are a horrible person who acts like he is on drugs. Do not deal with this dealership. They ripped me off on my 2 cars I bought for them on financing.

I am thankfully out of the automotive business and I work in the teaching profession now. Mr. Penn does not care about you - he just wants your money.

In serive, a customer had an older 1992 Toyota Tercel that would not pass inspection. A technician accidntally brought it around front and parked it in the drive thru, blocking the entrance to the service dept. Mr. Penn came storming in and asked "whose red piece of crap is that blocking the driveway." Needless to say .. the customer was pissed.

Mr. Penn.... you got rid of me because I did not want to tolerate you, Mrs. Penn's or Jimmy Miga's crap anymore. It's a shame you are nothing like your father.. At least he was respectable... which is a lot more than I can say about you...

Stay away from Penn Toyota - they will rip you off!!!!

If he was 'overpricing' as you say, it would've been caught when the deal was being handled by management. There are many people that look at the paperwork on the sale of a new/used car. You can't tell me that NO ONE CAUGHT ON to what Harris was doing?

Basically we have sat by and have read the complaints of a few of you. We don't enjoy customers who are upset or feel they have been ripped off.

We have been in business for over 30 years. We have a long list of customers who come to us every chance they can. Over the years sometimes you can't help every customer and we understand that. Sometimes it more of a communication thing. So basically I am here today to try to fix any problem that you may have had in the past with us. If you are upset and want an explanation please contact us. We will do everything to either better explain ourselves or to fix your problem no matter how old it is. Mr. Harris, lets be honest here. You used to defend us here on this sight now you come to reality and now complain. Basically you were our TOP seller, while you were here. Is that not correct? Customers would call and constantly complain and being "ripped off". We would have to refund them their money that you overcharged. Now people, why would Penn Toyota let go their TOP selling ASM. It is because OUR customers were not happy with his service. His surveys were alway below standards. Now cause of his dismissal he is annoyed at us and now attacks us. He did not leave here to work in another field. He was let go and found another job at another dealership. As I remember it, he would go around and bragg about how much he charged customers.

We here at Penn Toyota don't need exployees that over charge. We feel that we can make a living by charging customer what they need not what we want to sell them. If you have a problem with us please call us or email us we will do what ever is neccesary to help you. If we can't you can always go to Toyota Motors and they will point you in the right direction. If we are going to be honest, lets be honest here.

It is widely known that the older toyotas have a sludge problem and that the manufacturer does not stand behind their defect. That is Toyota's problem. The problem here is Penn Toyota. They do have a new used car mgr who is very good ( I bought one from him ) but Mr. Robert Penn is one owner who does not know his head from his butt... Be wary of him... After experiencing what I did at Penn Toyota after seeing the light, I decided to go into another industry because the automotive field is horrible with liars. Also beware of the service department.... $650.00 for a 60,000 mile tune up (does not include timing belt) - SHAME ON YOU PENN TOYOTA - wish John Stalupi would buy the dealership.... and kick the Penns out...

I used to work for this pathetic company. After the divorce of Mr. and Ms. Penn there were many scams being brought to the table by employees and to light by customer complaints. Please dont ever buy a used car from these people let alone a new car. Just look at the used car manager, and you can tell hes a full of scams, he buys salvaged cars left over from auctions and sells them like they are new? Please you cant be foolish enough to fall for these scams. Those cars are dangerous and have been in accidents, and they sell them like there tip top!?! Also its never-ending with customer complaints, if all their customers knew about this web site you would see hundreds of rip of reports. Also Mr. Penns son is no angel but he learned from the best how to scam I suppose. Soon enough this companies dirt will be brought to the media. Even their parts department is corrupt, look at the parts manager. He has a scam going on with the body shop where they pocket extra cash they charge or dont charge customers, all out of Mr. Penns pocket. His excuse when I ask him how can do such a thing, He says "I make Mr. Penn hundreds of thousands of dollars a year!" Well, im not surprised Sir you were ripped off. I am however surprised there are not more rip off reports on here! I will bring justice forward I have first hand knowledge of many crooked matters regarding this company. They even fired me after I had been injured as to not pay me workman's comp. That's the kind of people your dealing with at Penn Toyota! Be warned stay away from this dealership!

Harris Sounds like a Penn Toytoa Employee. Very arrogent, self righous and nasty. I have never dealt with Penn Toyota since I live in NYC, but I have heard complaints about them even out here.

In one instantance they insisted the customer pick up a Sequoia. The dealership's mistake created a problem where the customer couldn't pick up the car when they arrived at the promised date.

Then I heard the dealership insisted they pick up the vehicle then, saying they would deliver if they couldn't pick it up. The customer told them they couldn't and hung up because they were busy. The dealer was nasty calling back.

Knowing the reputation of car dealers I would be hesitent about picking getting a car from such a dealer myself. They are rude and treat their customers as if they are the only dealer in the area.

I really like Toyotas, but part of owning a car is the dealer experiance and this dealer seems to give Toyota a bad name.

Remember when MB was on top and they didn't have to worry about customer loyalty, that was just yesterday. Now they are at the bottom of JD Powers list.

I think Harris and Penn Toyota need to really learn about customer service or they may soon be looking for a new jobs. I heard Mcdonalds is looking. No wonder Americans are getting a bad reputation. What happened to treating the customer right. I don't mean you can't disagree with the person, but if as you said Penn Toyota is willing to work with people, why do you bad mouth this person. Why not just come out and say you will take care of the problem or explain the misunderstanding. I think it would give Penn Toyota a better reputation.

As for taking a lawyer to read the fine print. Lawyers wrote that crap and most lawyers I know can't understand that stuff. It would take them a week to go over the fine print. That is why they spend so much on the fine print.

My experiance with some dealers is that yes they like to include little things or promise things and not deliver to get you to sign, then pressure you to take the car. You have to understand though dealers only make 1,000-2,000 dollars (not including insentives, not having to pay for cars till it sells ect)The sales person is human and is under a lot of pressure to sell and close the deal to make money.

That said would they like their soldiers, doctors, laywers and firepersons working the same way? "You need a liver transplant? Quick sign here or you will die, fifty bucks more and I will do it rigt. Oh you didn't read the fine print and want a working liver?" It's only a job?

Harris, I am sorry.....truly sorry....but I 100% TOTALLY disagree with you!

To me, it seems that your postings are SPIN in defense of Toyota. Are they not?

Why does the BLAME THE OWNER at all cost Toyota corporate theme come through loud and clear in your postings?

I agree with Juliet.....the TRUTH is what counts.

After four years of networking with Toyota owners all across this country as well as Canada, I can safely say that a common refrain is that Toyota dealerships are LYING to many Toyota owners in a variety of situations.

Is Toyota lying to the general public when it CLAIMS that it will back up an ENGINE OIL SLUDGE program for 3.3 MILLION Toyota owners? If not, why isn't it following through in 100% of the cases? If not, why are so many Toyota owners complaining online?

The truth and Toyota have not yet been synonymous in the case of engine oil sludge. The truth seems to escape Toyota in the case of widespread and known vehicle problems, too. This is what countless Toyota owners are saying online.

Yes, libel is not a good thing and I will agree to that. So why is it that Toyota affiliates are resorting to it online in order to defame the most vocal Toyota owners?

It seems that Toyota would like to keep its "above reproach" status; it seems to do this by controlling the internet dialogue about it in one way or another.

Pity the company that has to perpetutate a myth about quality based solely on the control of the complaints about it online! Doesn't this company know that plenty of Toyota owners are waking up to realize what is happening?

Let's face it.....the Toyota owners are FED UP and they want WHAT THEY PAID FOR! Perhaps Toyota will change and respond. OR, perhaps it won't and proceed forward arrogantly forward as it has already done!

Obviously... you do not because you would have... I spoke to the higher ups regarding your vehicle...you made one complaint and never heard from you again. It does not take much brains to purchase a used vehicle - not have it looked at by an outside repair shop after purchase and not have items fixed during the 90 day used car warranty period. Who sad I have nothing in writhing? You have sign the papers that the timing belt as well as the spark plugs has been changed at 70.000 miles by your dealership, however recently Lexus Dealership stated that all parts are original. I have more then enough evidences to bring you to court and make you pay for the entire scam.

How could your MECHANIC (notice.. I did not say TECHNICIAN... see the timing belt. It is hidden under a timing cover.... I find it hard to believe that you paid someone to take the cover off to just inspect it... mI agree with the consumer opinion... You feel jaded.. and I am sorry for that... BUT it is your fault that you did not get everything in writing.... Best wishes

Scams... I do not think so.....First if all - not all timing belts are recommended for replacement at 60,000 miles. On newer cars it is 90-105,000 miles. Second of all .. if you have nothing in writing...legally you do not have a leg to stand on. There is nothing illegal about selling a car that MIGHT have been a fender collision... How could your MECHANIC (notice.. I did not say TECHNICIAN... see the timing belt. It is hidden under a timing cover.... I find it hard to believe that you paid someone to take the cover off to just inspect it... mI agree with the consumer opinion... You feel jaded.. and I am sorry for that... BUT it is your fault that you did not get everything in writing.... Best wishes

You said the original post was about the used car. The original post was about a new car. I don't see any other posting by a Gene.
Are you just pi***d off at Penn Toyota for some reason and out to get them?

If there were promised repairs make sure you have it in writing or the contract or make sure they are completed before you sign the paperwork.
We only have your word they made the promises or the accesories are missing don't we????

You can foolish people many times, but you can not foolish people all the times. I have signed for the vehicle because you wore promising to make all necessary repairs, if I sign all the papers.

Not only the promised repairs was not done, the regular maintenance that you clime was done on the car at 70.000 miles (timing belt) was not true as well (checked by licensed mechanic), not mention that you concealed the fact that this car was hit in the front.

And please don't play an innocent man, trying to cover all your previous dealership scams after 2 years pass. Bring your lawyer if you want to buy your new or used car at Penn Toyota.

I understand that purchasing a used car can be strenuous and maybe the car did not turn out to be exactly what you wanted.... Once again... thats why all used vehicle comes with a 90 used car warranty... most people know this. If there was something wrong with your vehicle, you should have returned to the dealership... Penn Toyota does not take accessories out of car then attempts to rip people off or even blackmailing people by saying .."If you sign the papers, we will do this or that... please....... If you are not happy with your purchase... I am truly sorry. But to make outlandish claims over the internet.. Thats slander my friend... and you can be libel for your remarks...one day your comments may get you into trouble.

Penn Toyota can not be trusted!!!

When I was purchasing my car at Penn Toyota, they had promised to me to make some needed repairs on the car if I do sign the final papers. I did sign the papers and when I get back to pick up my car, the first major repair I have noticed is that some car accessories wore missing. My advice, shop somewhere else.

If there were $700.00 of fees in the paaperwork that were not supposed to be included, why did you sign for the vehicle. Until you sign the sales documents you can cancel at anytime. It makes absolutely no sense to sign something if you know that the paperwork is wrong. "bring a lawyer"... please... maybe next time you need to bring some common sense before signing legal and binding documents....
