Thank you RipOffReport for all your help-whenever I get anything in the mail or online that looks too good to be true, I always check with you first. The reason I am posting this is due to a letter from "Internet Marketing Training" today offering a free 8 hour seminar, brunch and organizer. When I could not find any information about them here or other internet searches, I did some research (whois search on their ticket reservation website ticketrsvp.com) and found out that the company listed as owning that name is storesonline.com - which has numerous compaints (309)on this site. This makes me think they are trying to hide their name due to a bad reputation in the seminar letter I got as it is not listed anywhere. I have nothing to say about the seminar or the practices but anyone planning to attend should also check out the complaints here searching for storesonline.com .

I recieved the package in the mail and called to reserve a spot for one of the workshops, however after reading this report I'm wondering if I'm going to be getting constantly harrased by them even if I don't attend the workshop. Any help is appreciated.

Just like the last two rebuttal/comments, I also received this "free" offer, here in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Since the "seminar" is being held at a local and upstanding country club, I thought I'd attend to hear what they had to say, eat the free food, and take the free gift.
So, I called the toll-free number and after being on hold for 8 minutes and still no live voice, and not finding ANY website on the promo package where I could "register" online, I googled. And, thank goodness I did. The rippoffreport.com was the first on the list. Humm, I wonder what's this about?? Well, thanks to this site (which before today I did not know existed, but as of today is not only saved as a favorite but also a desktop sc), I have been spared. Like the last entry stated, I too decided that my time was too valuable, even for the free country club chicken! Thanks to ROR.com and to all that took the time to comment on this SCAM!
P.S. I also searched by states Atty. Gnl's website for any activity involving "storesonline", but no results were found. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they're sued here, as well.

They're in Delaware Again
AUTHOR: Bruce - (U.S.A.)

About 18 months ago this group calling themselves Imergent at the time was in Northern Delaware and gave their presentation. A friend of mine told me about it and was thinking about investing the $5000 into this "business". I went on-line and found all of the negative info on Imergent and thankfully she decided against investing in this scam.
I just got an invitation yesterday in the mail and as soon as I saw the name Clint Sanderson and internet marketing I knew it was the same outfit. They are offering a dinner and personal planner, a $120 value by the way, to attend their presentation.
They are holding their presentation at two locations in Delaware again:
The Spencer Hotel in Wilmington on May 2nd and 3rd. The 2nd is for lunch or dinner the 3rd is lunch only. Also on May 3rd for dinner at the Sheraton Hotel In Dover.
I was thinking about going just for the free food and then ask questions based on all of the ripoff report info but thought better of it. My time is more valuable. Hopefully this will keep someone for falling into this trap.

New Tactics
AUTHOR: Pam - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 25, 2006
Hi,
I just received a direct mail letter from this same company "Internet Marketing Conference with Clint Sanderson". Not seeing any web address in the letter - which right away points to suspicion since they are marketing using the Internet for profit - I did a search of my own and landed here.
Be warned, there is no longer any web-traceable information in the letter, as mentioned in the posts above. Reservations, information, etc must all be handled via the phone, making anyone that calls a captive audience. I am thankful I found this information here on ripoffreport.com. I had been working on an idea for a web-based business and coicidentally, received the direct mail piece. I am in no position financially to endure a rip-off and am glad ripoffreport.com has this information available help us make wise decisions.
p.s. The seminars in my area are being held at noon and 6:00 p.m. on March 29, 2006 at the Marriott Hotel in Trumbull, March 30 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Meriden and on March 31 at the Omni New Haven.

StoresOnLine has sold services and e-commerce sites on a non-refundable basis because they defined their product as a ?business-to-business? service. However, many states have re-defined the area of law that distinguishes consumer transactions, from business to business transactions.
On June 16, 2003, StoresOnline signed a Consent Agreement with the State of Maine, Office of Securities. It was agreed that StoresOnline shall not sell, offer to sell, advertise or undertake any other act in Maine relating to the promotion of products or services similar to those sold by StoresOnline without first registering pursuant to Regulations and otherwise fully complying therewith. StoresOnline shall not hold any workshops, seminars, conferences or similar events in Maine without first providing notice to Office of Securities at least 60 days in advance.
In December 2003 StoresOnline altered their refund policy to add a 3-day right to rescind for all new customers. The change in policy was at least in part a pre-emptive response to legal actions initiated by the State of California.
On April 7, 2004 Imergent, Inc., doing business in California as StoresOnline Inc., entered into an agreement to answer concerns raised by the State of California through a Stipulated Final Judgment and Permanent Injunction in Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Mateo.
The primary terms of the agreement require that Storesonline: a) offer a 3-day right to rescind in a manner prescribed by California law and the agreement, b) pay $102,333.19 in refunds to 42 purchasers of Storesonline products as identified by the State of California, c) provide customers a list of all additional and optional services that can be provided at the option of consumers prior to the execution of a contract, and d) that Storesonline continue to disclose that knowledge of and access to a computer is required to utilize its products and services.
On January 19, 2004, the Washington Department of Financial Institutions,Securities Division and Respondents, Imergent,Inc., StoresOnline, Inc., John J. Poelman, Brandon Lewis, Donald Danks,
and Charles Andrews entered into Consent Order number S-03-010-03-CO01.
The Division alleged that Imergent and StoresOnline were in the business of selling Internet merchant packages, which allowed investors to begin a business and make money by acquiring a presence on the Internet and by marketing their products through the Internet. The Division alleged that Respondents violated the Business Opportunity Fraud Act's registration
and anti-fraud provisions. Allegations included failure to register and failure to provide the required contract language and disclosures.
Respondents neither admit nor deny the Findings of Fact or Conclusions of Law, but agree to cease and desist from violations of the registration and anti-fraud provisions of the Business Opportunity Fraud Act. Respondents waived their rights to a hearing and judicial review of
this matter.
On February 22, 2005, Texas Attorney General filed a lawsuit against StoresOnline alleging misrepresentation of all fees and charges involved. This case is currently pending and will be updated as more information becomes available.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has instituted legal proceedings against StoresOnline International Inc, Galaxy Mall Inc and a Gold Coast resident, Mr Brett Perkins, alleging they have been engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct and other contraventions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 over the sale and promotion of home business e-commerce software packages.
On June 1, 2005, the ACCC obtained an injunction preventing StoresOnline and Mr. Perkins from transferring funds outside the jurisdiction of the Australian Courts, pending further hearings. Additionally, the ACCC obtained an order that, prior to the commencement of all remaining seminars or workshops conducted by the company in Australia, that StoresOnline inform participants of the proceedings restraining StoresOnline from making misleading or deceptive representations.
This case is currently pending and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Another new name? What a surprise!

Julie,
I also received an invitation to attend Clint Sanderson's Internet Marketing Training seminar.
After doing a quick Whois lookup (great minds think alike) I discovered what you did and was led to this site. I also discovered that Storesonline is owned by Imergent in Orem, Utah and has a long long long history of name changes. If you search through the names (imergent, storesonline, galaxymall, netgateway, iregnow, ecomtrainers, etc) you'll discover hundreds if not thousands of consumer complaints, many lawsuits, government investigations in Maine, Washington, Texas, California, and Australia (who recently froze their assets), and many warnings from consumer watch dog groups and media reports warning consumers against thier practices. Even the BBB urges caution and their a rubber stamp for most companies! What's worse is that it appears from everything I have read that they charge $5000+ for an ecommerce site that can be had for a few hundred dollars anywhere else on the web. I don't know about you but they ain't getting penny from this Yankee.
If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

they have numerous names

They use several names to hide behind bad press and the amount of complaints posted on this site (309). They will tell you what you want to hear and to make your life a LIVING HELL when you question their business practices. My credit is now ruined because of these people. You may want to print these complaints to show the authorities as proof that this company is a SCAM and a liar. If anyone searches storesonline on yahoo, you should see most of the names they use. I just wish that the FBI would get moreinvolved in this.
