This company must be a "division" of Scentura Creations, because the description fits almost to a tee. Fly-by-night looking office, ad looking for managers, will train, etc. Same interview process. Very controlling.

Salary promised is $30K 1st year, but if you choose the "POA" (Piece of the Action) option, you can make much more. After 6-8 weeks of training, you will be handed the keys to your own office. IF you demonstrate (during training) 1) Best attitude; 2) Honesty/integrity; 3) Trainability; and 4) Hard work

Benefits after 90 days (does anyone really make it that far?) but independent contractor thru training. Possible to make UP TO $400 per phase of training (ea phase is 2 wks) in cash OR bonuses OR incentives.

According to the spiel, the company's been around 27 years and has 900 offices in the US, Canada, Central & South America and Amsterdam. Yet, miraculously, no website. No listing with the BBB or the SEC. I couldn't find anything about them on the internet at all.

Now I'm really concerned that I gave them my social security number, driver's license # and personal info.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Yes, and no. Some people will avoid the scam, but the frauds always seem to find thousands of new victims to walk around selling colored water.

Smart people see reality. You can't fool them. Hell, the interview scam alone scares off most of the smart ones. But, in some cases, people are more desperate because they haven't found a job yet.

So, they go back and end up walking around in shopping center parking lots trying to sell colored water for $35 a bottle. It doesn't look like the real perfume. The bottles are all different. And, it sure as hell doesn't smell like the real thing. Dime store cologne is what it is. Worth $2.99 at the most.

Besides, wal-mart will kick you the hell out. Police will arrest you for no solicitation license. Pay a big fine! Plus, the customers all know it's crap. A couple of bottles a day, tops.

Your commission is $5 a bottle. The office will even try to cheat you out of that.

Here's the part I don't understand. The people who do this come home with nothing. Zero dollars. They sold 3 bottles all day. They only made $15 and they didn't even get that. Payday is a week away, remember?

But, and here's the crazy part, they will actually go back the next day and do the same thing all over again.

I mean, they made nothing. Yet, somehow, they have convinced themselves that they are on the path to success. It's the craziest thing I ever saw. These victims turn nothing into a million dollar dream.

How can anyone possibly straighten these victims out? I guess you have to let them sleep in the gutter and starve to death almost. Maybe they will finally wake up and see what is happening to them.

Even after weeks of making $5 or $10 a day, tops, some of the victims will come here and claim how they are on this great new career path to a successful future.

Absolute lunacy is what it is. All you can do is turn away and shake your head.

Another scam that works the exact same way is called DSmax/Cydcor. Same scam, except here you walk around selling steak knives and salt and pepper sets. Worthless junk. For $5 a day.

Somehow, the main loser at the top is able to buy nice things because of all the people he has out walking around selling junk to strangers in parking lots.

The whole thing is a dead-end, losing situation.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

The ERUS Speech

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 02, 2005

All of this stuff is so shocking to me. All the other postings I read were identical to what I had just gone through. It just goes to show that the "boss" of these different locations are coached and trained to say the same thing over and over again like machines.

I had my second "interview" and thought things were fishy during the FIRST interview. Here is just some information for others to know, verify and compare with their own.

The person who interviewed me for the 1st interview was actully younger than me! Not even legal to drink.

During the 2nd interview, I didn't know I'd be in a room with 20-25 other people. The music was loud and very unprofessional. Before the "boss" came in we were told how to greet him and with "big smiles."

The boss was named Maurico, 23 yrs old. I didn't catch the last name.

Here's all the info I was told to write down in my notepad.

-Management Position
-Full-Time Only
-Salary: 30K
-1 of 900 offices worldwide
-International Offices as well
-No sales/commission
-Yet, we had to sell to our friends and family
-8 week training program (which could be cut down to 4 weeks if we worked our butts off)
-We need reliable transportation
-I'd get my own office within 8 weeks & I'd start to hire my own sales employees (15-30)
-I'd be an "independent contractor"
-Saturday is payday, then later he said, "well, not this Saturday, but NEXT Saturday"
-We'd also have to work 3 hours on Saturday
-Also, he was living pretty good off the money he made, he talked about new, nice cars, vacations, clothes

-Mark Laracy works with them (even though this man is the President of his own company called Parfums De Coeur Ltd.)

-At no point in time could we ask any questions, there wasn't even a break. We were in there for 1 1/2 hrs

Four Reasons He'd Hire Us
1) Great Attitude
2) Honesty/Integrity
3) Trainability
4) Hard Work

Training Program (8 wks)
-Part 1, BASIC TRAINING, 2 wks of "Marketing/Sales" and 2 wks of "Teaching & Evaluating," this is for "Product Knowledge & Compassion)

-Part 2, HANDS ON, 2 wks of "People Management", and 2 wks of "Admin/Office"

-Mauricio said we could probably cut it down to 4 weeks. Which is bogus because we all know that legit companies stick to a plan and don't stray away from it.

Benefits
-We get them in 90 days
-Full medical
-Simple Dental
-Vacation

Bonuses (He wasn't too clear about these, when we would get them or how or by whom)
-$400 bonus for each phase
-They can be paid out in 3 ways
1) Cash
2) Bonus (Gift Certificate, Free Perfume)
3) I have no idea, I sware he didn't mention a 3rd.

Four Reason For Termination
1) Bad Attitude/Negativity
2) Dishonesty
3) Discrimination
4) Drugs & Alcohol (he basically said, as long as he didn't catch us doing it at work, we'd be okay)

At the end he asked us all a few questions. It was obvious most of the people in there were in their early 20s. Only 4 or 5 of us had Resumes and creditials. I was one of the last 5 who were called to answer some questions and his first question to me was "What didn't you like about today?" and I said "I didn't like that you did not ask us if we had any questions for YOU."

I could tell he was surprised at my response but he had a quick answer, "Everything you need to know, I've already told you. You can't learn everyting in one day. You learn as you go. Am I right?" and some of the other people sitting around me agreed with him.

I was surprised that no one else questioned him, I guess they were the perfect candidates for the scam.

Most employers would have jumped at the chance to answer questions from future employees. That's how the employer knows the prospective employee is interested. Every single person who's interviewed me has asked if I had any questions for them. It never fails.

Anyway, a few minutes later I was picked to leave the room, as some other people had before me. I was told that he wanted to hire me. I'd start on a Holiday, when everyone else was at home.

But later that day, I found out by a staffing agency that it's a scam. I was very grateful to them.

Hopefully this helps some other people.

Just confirmed ERUS is another name for Scentura Creations

AUTHOR: Dana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 02, 2005

After reading everything on ripoff report about Scentura Creations, I felt certain it must be the same company, and I had no intention of starting training today. Someone from the company called to "remind" me that training started today, and I told them I'd found another job. With a bit of prying, I found out that their "parent" company is indeed Scentura Creations. So glad I wasted only the time of two interviews. THANK YOU Ripoff Report!
