This company got my phone number thru my husbands email address, started calling and my husband told them that he wasn't going to do nothing or give them any information without they talked to me. He told them that the account was in my name and had been since long before we married. He told them they would have to talk to me, and that my work hours are from 2pm to 10pm. They called daily until they finally reached me on Dec.18th.
After I talked with them they told me that they would have to have a one time charge to apply for the grant of $257.00, and that they would be taking it from my checking account on Dec. 27th. They told me that if for any reason I needed to extend the date til Jan 14th to call them 3 days prior to the 27th.
Since Dec.18th I have been trying to contact them. I finally reached them after they had already tried to take the money the first time on Dec.30th.,after having been on hold for 3 hours. When they came on the line I told them I wanted to cancel this transaction due to finacial reasons, and that I couldn't afford to keep paying bank charges when they tried to take the money and it wasn't there. Because I didn't have it to give to them. I was told once the process had been started that I COULD NOT CANCEL IT.
They refused to cancel this process and since then they have tried to take the money again each time using a different check number so I couldn't put a stop payment on it. I contacted my bank and they told me that the only thing I could do to stop them from sending this same transaction thru over and over again was to close out my account.

Details about $8,000 grant offer
AUTHOR: Jackie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, January 25, 2005
I was contacted yesterday, 1/24/05, with this offer and was very suspicious. I finally gave out my routing number and my checking account number, but refused to give a check number. I was informed that I can rescind my order within 3 days and my account will not be debited. I was also told that if I don't get a grant of at least $8,000, my processing fee of $257 will be returned. And, if I don't have enough money in my checking account to cover the processing fee of $257, I should contact them 3 days before the 7 day wait time which would be day 4, making a rescindsion impossible, and they would "help" me. "Guide to Government Grants" should arrive in 2-3 weeks.
At the end of the confirmation recording, I was told that as a bonus, I would receive 10 days free of Communications Plus, and if I don't cancel (no phone number was given so that I could), I would be billed $34.95 monthly out of the same account I had given them. I immediately broke in to let them know I didn't want the bonus, but no option was given to not accept it.
So, I called the customer service number they had given me 1-800-530-4282 and tried to cancel right away. When I finally got hold of someone (very long wait times both times I called), they said my information wasn't in the computer yet and I should call back tomorrow, which I did. My information is still not in the computer. By the way, you can cancel by calling the 800 number above as long as your information has been downloaded. So, I tried to log on to the web site they gave me and couldn't find it. I found you instead.
I will immediately contact them to cancel everything since I am within the 3 day grace period. Here are some contact names:
Douglas Benson - sales rep (original contact)
Duke Carlos - verification processor
Tracy, Station 107 - c/s rep (very helpful)
Doug Smith - c/s rep (very helpful)
Address: Government Grant Info Center, PO Box 41181, St. Petersburg, FL 33747
FYI - I was told they receive faxes from the credit bureaus daily with information on people who supposedly "qualify" for these grants.
I hope this information is helpful.

I am getting the call from the person Adrian John, who is supposed to be the person with the ID number 1092 and this is the second experience to me. The last time they called me and they told me to give my routing munber and account number, thus, I became suspicious about it and I changed some of the numbers and got into the final stage, but nothing happened. This time, off course I told a fake rounting number and account number and I reached this web site. Thus, I hung up. But, they were still calling me for about five times and left a message finally. Now it is quiet in my room.
But the way of speaking to me was exactly same as the other people be told. The person told me that I have 8000dollars grant with 257dollars fee. And the last time, they forced me to say the date that I would pay. Thus, I set the date that was a week from that date I got a call. And this time, they were telling me that I have 10-15 days to prepare money.
Someone, who got this call and knows how to stop this call please let me know.
