My sister needed a home and she found Lee Anthony at Hard Money Global to lend her money so she could buy this house. He wanted $1,500 to start, when she said she didn't have that kind of money he said he would take half ($750). She didn't have that either, that's a lot of money! I checked around and found out Mr. Anthony doesn't have a license and his company Hard Money Global doesn't have a license. I thought the state watches this stuff, he is listed on the internet and nobody checks this out? How many other people has he taken money from and they couldn't get a loan? This may not seem like a lot of money to some people but it's a lot to us and I don't want anyone else to be taken by these kinds of scammers. He seems real legit because his office is downtown on Broadway but that means nothing. Watch out!

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Hard Money Global

The State can only do saomething about it if someone complains. If they don't know anything about it, they can't do anything. The mortgage section has 14 examiners for the entire state. The do routine exams, investigations, and prohibitions. On top fo speacial project requested by management. They rely on citizens, like you, to let them know about people like this. I know not everyone can know mortgage laws, but it is illegal to take money up front on a primary residential mortgage transaction. it is also illegal to tell someone that they can't "shop around". These are the laws and citizens can only be educated about them if they ask.
My suggestion to you is to file a complaint with the State of Michigan, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Authority, Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation. They have a complaint form right on their website. They also have a list of who is prohibited in the state to do mortgage business. On top of that, everyone has access to the NMLS Consumer Access to check to see if a company or loan originator has a license (it's required). If they don't appear on that website, DON'T USE THEM and call OFIR!
