Stubhub, Madonna makes a deal to take all my money or stick me in cheap seats stubhub.com. How can Madonna and this stubhub company get away with this? San Francisco, California Internet

Many performers are doing this. Fan club seats and/or the best seats are sold
outside of the fan club and screw their fans. Wonder why tickets sell out so fast. Sure, some of it is ticket brokers but all you have to do is look at the people who control the ticket supply when they're first sold.

Ticketmaster (which also recently purchased Ticketsnow ) sells or allows the sale of the tickets (usually the best seats) on TicketExchange and Ticketsnow so it appears the tickets are from fans selling their personal tickets. In reality, some if not all of these tickets were never released for public sale. In almost comical fashion tickets have shown up on TicketExchange BEFORE any presale or public sale repeatedly for some artists.

So the next time you're upset at not finding seats maybe brokers had a small part to play in this but in many cases the top performers/promoters/Ticketmaster are likely never allowing anyone access to these tickets. Ticketmaster is in cohoots with the performers to deny the public access to these seats and thereby charge highly inflated prices which Ticketmaster splits with the artist/promoter.

It's sad because many fans pay fees to belong to a fan club thinking they'll get access to great seats and while some do others are denied and one reason is because tickets are held back to make more money. If the performers and Ticketmaster were honest about this arrangement it would be one thing but Ticketmaster doesn't want the public to know this and certainly performers don't want their images tarnished.

It is not just Madonna doing this every artist is doing it. Take a look at the ticket exchange in Ticketmaster for Neil Diamond or New Kids on the Block or many other artists. All of those seats showed up right at the onsale time ( all of the best seats in the house). The Artist and promotor are scalping their own seats and trying to claim it is not them. There are no good seats for concerts anymore they are all held back by the artist and sold at 2-10 times face value

We as fans are outsiders... NOT a good place to be! Every day we are pushed farther out. With deals like Live Nation and Stubhub, and Ticketmaster buying Tickets Now, the venues and the artists are making it hard for the true fans!

We have to fight back; we MUST foment a public revolt against being ripped off by the INSIDERS who are charging us high prices for a mediocre product. The deck is stacked against us, THE FANS, to get a seat at a good price. We should not react kindly to the idea that Madonna, or any other artist, ripping us off. We should vote with our wallets and our feet. Let's stop hiding our heads in the sand, and fight this misinformation!

I can see the writing on the wall today it may be Madonna, but tomorrow it will be everyone. I hope that the public outcry on this will be heard load and clear by the artists doing it! Whats next? Sports to?
