so, i was so excited i bought my new camera today. found it for a great price. i placed the order, and when i was placing it, i thought it was awfully strange for a company to sell such expensive product and not ask for the security code on the back of my CC, but kinda just shrugged it off.

so i get a call about an hour later. "oh, i'm calling cause we need your security code". ok? so i give it to him, then he tells me my camera doesn't come with a battery, do i want to purchase one for over $400? i was like, i know what kind of batteries these camera's use, and it sure as heck doesn't cost that much!

well THEN he proceeds to tell me that "did you know you bought a grey market camera?"

wha? come again? uh.. NO! since your site failed to include that detail, i can only assume i'm buying something as you describe it to be! i say that is slightly misleading, he replies, "no its not. we dont have to tell you at all.." uh yeah. ok buddy.

i say i dont want to order from them since they are clearly shady. he says, well, we have a 14% cancellation fee. um. thats almost $450. i don't think so buddy. he says i have no choice. i ask for a manager.

this is where it gets good.

the supervisor comes on and basically tells me i'm sh*t out of luck, it is what it is and i can't do anything about it. i say, BS! you mislead people on your site to trick them into buying something they dont realize they are buying, and i refuse to authorize any type of payment, ESPECIALLY for a cancellation fee for an order that had not yet technically been placed! he tells me, i have no choice and "YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY" (and i quote!). i say, do i need to contact a lawyer? cause i feel like i'm getting scammed here, he says they have better lawyers than i'll ever find, and good luck trying to get my $$.

i remind him i am not authorizing ANY charges to my card and ask for a mailing address and contact information for the company owner. he tells me, no, i wont give it to you. i say, um, that is public information, and you cannot deny it to me. he says, well i'm denying it right now, you can't have it. i say, i WANT the owners contact information. he then says, "LADY, YOU ARE MESSING WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE." um.. THAT is a direct PHYSICAL THREAT to me, IMO! i say, did you just threaten me? and he repeats it.

so i say, so you are threatening me then? he says, thats all i'm saying. i said, well if you think you're getting a penny from my bank account, think again buddy, i'm calling my bank right now to tell them this order is not valid OR authorized.

i then ask who i am speaking to, he says, "i am anyone who you want me to be lady."

i know there is more.. but i can't think of it right now. the whole thing was so crazy! i cannot believe he threatened me like that!

so, i got off the phone and called my bank and they shut down my card completely and are sending me another one

oh, i remember one other thing. i said, your site says "100% satisfaction guaranteed", so if you ship this, and i am not ok with the quality, i will return it. he says, if i don't cancel your order, i am telling you right now, you are NOT ALLOWED to send it back. i was like, uh.. d*ckhead. your own site says 100% satisfaction guaranteed. and you're going to tell me i can't return it if it sucks? he says, yup, i'm telling you you are not allowed to send it back. thats when i said, i do not authorize ANY payments and i'm calling my bank..

One thing you should all know. in researching this whole thing, i discovered it is federal law that you can cancel any order and have a full refund if done within THREE days of placing the order.. not of receiving it. of placing it. so if you cancelled and did not receive your $$ back within that time frame CALL A LAWYER!

i also am writing to EVERY national news place i can think of. these guys own SEVERAL of these online sites, all registered with the same vancouver washington P.O. Box, yet are located in brooklyn NY. they are probably selling stolen items out of the trunk of their car! Tell everyone you can, do not order from ANY online site without calling first to verify that the company does not deal in GREY market merchandise. if the company does, its probaby THESE guys!
