Equally Yoked Keeps busy via binding contract; not service Tukwila Washington

+I am ashamed to say that I have just made a very foollish financial mistake after a high pressure visit to Equally yoked. Here is my story. I hope it does not happen to anybody else.

I signed a contract two months ago with the stipulations that I would not start membership until two months later. Start date was postponed, as I was not ready to start dating yet. I really had a bad gut feeling upon signing that contract. It was a high pressure situation. Either I signed that night or I would have to pay more than a grand extra should I sign up at a later date.

About a month later I met somebody and no longer had need for that membership which I had not even yet started.

I called the office to explain that I did not want to start the two-year membership. I understood I had signed a contract and was completely fine with paying a cancellation fee. I would be willing to pay $300 despite the fact that I had received nothing. I pleaded for 25 minutes on the phone. In the end, I did get the price reduced from $2,000 to a promotional rate that they occassionally offer of $1,280. From my perspective I am now out $1,280 for a membership I will never use. From Equally Yoked's perspective, they need my money to pay for their high advertising costs and staffing, and "I should have thought about all of this before signing the contract".

I am now trying to sell this membership over Craigs List, as it can be transfered. So far, no interest. I am not even completely comfortable selling this membership in good conscience. What motivation does Equally Yoked have to provide good membership benefits when they already have a guarantee of the money through a binding contract. I have not received any membership benefits to attest to their service level, but I do feel I now have cause to wonder.
