I just wanted to report these con artists so whoever gets involved in water purification equipment for marine aquariums or just for drinking water, they don't patronize this so-called "company". The directions stumped experienced plumbers as well as the associates at all the home centers. They're illegible, misspelled and lack continuity.

Then when you call the support line you get a woman who is short with you on the phone and doesn't offer any help whatsoever. Then I e-mailed the jerk-off owner- Ed. After I had just spent over $100 for this contraption, he stated that he didn't have time to help me resolve a problem because he was experiencing difficulties with his adolescent daughters.

And this is my problem why? He didn't seem to have any trouble with them in depositing the check that I sent him. When the membrane and other parts wear out on this piece of garbage, I'm switching to a real dealer who will help.

Watch out for this guy on e-bay!

Just a reply to Dan and Ryan of Aquasafe.

They contacted me after seeing this report and wanted to make things right by me, which they indeed have.

After they contacted me, they did send me a new tap (of my choice) and a filter change and shipping on them. They also were very apologetic and respectful, dealing with me this time. Ryan (the one I originally spoke with) felt bad for any miscommunication or ill will, which may have occured. After the way they handled this matter with me, I am willing to continue doing business with them. I also know they tried their best to make me happy in the end. So good on you guys, for making sure the customer is happy.

Dan with Aquasafe. I'm here to address the original report from 2007...

I wish this website had some sort of expiration date. Since this report was filed, the company has been relaunched under new management and these sorts of issues are long since in the past. 

On a personal note we are also saddened to see this persist online as Ed's legacy. Aquasafe was founded by Ed and he grew it to a successful company. 

In many ways, Ed was the business. 

When his health started failing is when these unfortunate reports began to appear, from people who had been rightly led to expect excellence. But there should be more online about the Ed that built the company.

In any case, it has been 7 years since this report appeared and things have changed a great deal since that time.

We're Sorry That Communications Broke Down Like That

We recently discovered this Ripoff Report comment. Here's our response (also sent to the customer via e-mail)

We were quite surprised to find it, we thought that we had settled things with the replacement of the faucet - but if there’s still feelings like these then we still have an issue and would like to opportunity to work with you to find full resolution.

We very much regret the turn that our communications took.

Without a name and address, it can be quite difficult for us to verify orders. And honestly, it's not that common - so when it did come up, it took some time to verify. We're very sorry for the frustration caused.

Still, within less than 48hrs of first contact and with the new info you provided we were able to find your original order and ship the new faucet :)

Aquasafe's warranty conditions that require the customer to provide the name and/or email from the original order is to protect our own business and keep costs down.

Indeed, there are a large number of RO suppliers where Aquasafe's parts fit perfectly - and we've had to deal before with customers who were requesting replacement parts for products they hadn't bought from us.

Once again please accept our sincere apologies for any frustration or misunderstanding that may have resulted. We truly do care about our customers and try our utmost to be of service.

We have replaced the faucet, but if there’s anything else we can do to make things right with you, please let me know. We’d really like to get this sorted out.

This also applies to anyone else.

WARNING!!!!

First off, I want to say that the filter itself is fine (the tap is not). It does what it is supposed too, as far as I know. But that is where my positive experience with this company ends. My complaint is with their Customer Service as well as the fine gentleman above me.

I recieved my box in the mail, that was all mashed in (product was not broken). The first thing I noticed is there was no instructions that came with it, I had to track it down on my own (which took a bit). It worked fine until the other day, my tap just fell apart and water started spraying everywhere.

So I contacted them (RYAN) to see about warranting the tap (it was not even a year old), waited almost two weeks before he bothered to get hold of me, and was told that my information I gave him was not good enough, and they could not find my info. So I started to get upset he was implying I was trying to scam him of a $5 part.

He was pretty rude in his e-mails and was trying to get me going. I would not take so kindly in person to being treated so smug, buy company owner to a paying customer. I even sent the guy three customers through his e-bay store, defiantly won't make that mistake again.

I saved all the e-mails we exchanged and am willing to show anyone who buys this weasels rebuttals, that may come up here.  All this over a part that cost's the guy $5, there is no other reason for my complaint other than his taps are junk and he will try and get you to go through pentagon type security to exchange a $5 part. Save your money and deal with someone who appreciates his customers.

Aqua-safe Canada

I am the new owner what was previously under the corporate name of Aquasafe Canada.   The new corporate name is Aquasafe Systems 2009 LTD.


I came across this report when doing a search for past info of Aquasafe online. 


I am sorry that this individual had such problems following simple instructions that come with each system to which many people each month follow without problems with installation.  He mentions that plumbers had problems installing this, but whats funny is that Aquasafe has resellers that are plumbers and they sell many systems on behalf of aquasafe.


To my knowledge there has never been anyone who has complained about that quality of water our systems produce.  


As mentioned before Aquasafe is entire new ownership and management and is committed to customer satisfaction.  We have never had a system returned to us for any reason.  The ONLY problem I have had in the close to 500 systems we have sold in the last month and a half is that UPS sometimes damaged the boxes, but this was merely cosmetic and everything was still fine.  


If there is ever any problems with our systems we will, is requested refund the money.  All that we would ask is that we get our product back, which im sure all of you would agree is fair.  I would also like to add that as of my market research to date there is no other company that offers as much as we do for a better price.  Our systems produce clean water that is the equivalent to that used in microchip manufacturing 99% pure water.
