On September 18th, 2005 I received a phone call asking for my minor teenaged daughter which I informed the person on the other line that I was her mother and asked if I could help them and A Jessica Taylor (not sure if this is the real name or not) said she had a check written to Goodwill on 8/21/2005 that came back as account closed and wanted me to give her a CC# to pay her for the check and an additional $25.00 for a check fee. She also stated that my daughter would not be able to write checks at over 300,000 locations until it was paid.

I explained to her that I didn't believe her account was closed and that I would call that bank to find out what happened and call her back to give her to settle it afterwards. I asked her for the check number and asked that she fax over a copy of the check. At time she looked in her system and said she had no physical check nor even a copy. At that time a got her phone number and extension and then called the bank.

My bank advised me that the account was and is still in good standing and that the check had never even been presented to the bank at all. I received a running bank statement from the bank showing as such and faxed proof along with reference numbers to the research dept at Telecheck as instructed to do so the agent that called. She had stated it would take 7-10 days and then it would be corrected.

On Oct 8th, I received another phone call this time from a gentleman stating pretty much the same thing as before and I explained to him that I had already provided a fax showing proof that this was an error and wanted to know why it wasn't corrected already. He said "huh, I don't know. What number did you fax it to. I referenced my fax transmission sheet proving it went through and he then told me to fax it directly to him at a different number, which I did.

Today, on Oct 19th, I received a message from "Lauren" needing money for this check they can't find and after calling 5 different numbers and trying for 30 minutes I finally got a person on the phone "Latricia" who says she does'nt show receipt of it. Now at this time I have 2 fax transmission showing the fax went through, a a negative mark on my credit report, and I'm sure my daughters too. Which I have disputed and I am sending it out again for the 3rd time. I only hope someone in that company will get up off thier keaster and actually do their job.
