well here is my story. i applied online after seeing the the job title being "***SPORTS ADVERTISING* *ENTRY LEVEL* UP TO 61K***"

i thought perfect. i'd try it out. ive been trying to find a way into marketing for a single profession sports team and i thought this might be a good stepping stone.

i got a responce that congradulated me on being selected for a preliminary interview. i went to the location and interviewed. all went well and i was scheduled for a second interview that would be all day and out in the field where ill be told all about the company including money.

everybody was young and i found that cool since i just graduated college. i went around with one of the "account managers" that day. she bought be lunch trated me nice and i enjoyed myself even though i was walking all day in 110 degree heat.

i was told to ask a lot of questions so she would put in a good word to the deciding manager. and as i look back on yesterday, i only asked a couple questions. everything else seemed clear.

when the day was over she told me not to be alarmed by bells ringing and everyone being loud and crazy. i went in and i saw everyone smiling laughing and having a good time since they had a good day.

i was told to fill out a questionaire and that the manager would review it and let me know if i qualify for a 3rd interview. a couple minutes later i was sent to his office and he talked a little and i asked hims some questions. i asked him about benefits. he said they have a package.

i asked about the advancement opportunity and he said it would take about 6-8 months to move to the manager position and i would be able to stay in town. i didnt wanna leave because im close to my family and my best friends. after asked if im available to start the next day. i said yes and he shook my hand and said congradulations. he said he wanted me in early at 7:15am to fill out paperwork. considering that day started at 9 for me i figured it was normal to come in that early just to fill out papers and get started and days would start later than 7.

i talked to the "account manaager" i was with and she said she will call me later that night and tell me a little more about what the manager thought.

when i got the call she told me out of alln the candidates that day i was the only one offered a job. i was stoked.

thats morning i get there around 715 and fill out some paperwork. i didnt realize there were no tax forms. also i didnt relaize that these forms asked for references and they never asked me before.

once the day got started everyone gathered in a big circle and did a bunch of cult like stuff. ringing of the bell if u met a certain amount the day before, HAVING to "high five" EVERYONE, anbd the list could go on and on.

the manager started his pep talk then. thats when i found out the true work hours. 7-7 monday - saturday. 70 - 72 hours a week. he compared it to the "average american" who works 40 hours and how if u stay with this company u can retire around 35 with millions while the "AM" works til 60-65 and has to struggle.

he also talked about the fact that u dont see ur friends and family much because you work so much but that it definatelty pays off because u can retire ealy while ur still young and still be able to have fun. this put me in a sour mood.

the day went slow and we only sold 3 packages. i made $50 which comes out to only $6/hr. i made more with a part time job while in college. the "merch" looks good and proffessional and a good deal if its really true. after the day selling was done at 6pm we went back to the office and everybody got in a circle again and people who made $120 that day range the bell and "high fived" everyone.

not only do u have to spend ur own money for gas to drive to locations, u have to spend ur own money for "road trips". this is when u get sent to a different city for a week and sell "merch". u get sent with a few people and still have to pay for your own gas/hotel/ EVERYTHING.

most of the people working moved from a different state because they got promoted. its almost impossible to be i was told.

this company made us go into every business in the clients area. even ones with strict solicitation policies, like banks. also they tell us to find any way into a building even if you knoe u shouldnt be in that area. you are told to talk loud so even customers in the business hear you and maybe want to buy.

this is extremely rude because it ruins these peoples experience with the business.

overall this place is a scam and the people seem almost brain washed and numb to the outside world and told to always live this business.

there are a bunch of business names for this company so beware. tomorrow im not going back to work and will contact the better business bureau and report them for anything i can.
