Pet Company ripoff unmoral and sells animals that are not healthy Milford Connecticut

In May of 2002 my husband and I purchased a Shih Tzu puppy from the Pet company. We fell in love with him the minute we saw him and played with him for a bit and decided we wanted to buy him. Upon getting to the front and the saleswoman getting the paperwork I made a comment to my husband i hope that this puppy isn't a puppy mill pup.

The girl looked shocked that I would think that and told me that they never sold puppy mill dogs. Upon filling out the paperwork we were handed a paper which their vet had signed and i saw that there were medications on there. I questioned her as to why he was on meds and she told me that it was preventitive medicine and nothing to worry about. We bought a health Guarantee with him. Upon taking our puppy to the vet they told us not only did the woman lie to us about him not being from a puppy mill but that the medicines he was on were not preventitive but necessary because Julius our puppy had worms and Coccxcydia.

He was very ill and had to be taken care of for months. This included some overnight stays at the vet's office because he was so sick. We called up the store and told them what happened and they gave us the number to call for the company. My husband called the corporate headquarters where they argued with my husband and basically told him that they would not pay for the vet bills.

I told him that I would go and sit in their store and tell everyone that they sell sick puppies and after that they agreed to pay some of the bills. We paid out $1500 for our vet and they gave us i believe around $200. They told us that we could not prove the anemia was from preexsisting illness although my vet said that the worms are what caused the anemia.

I want to see this company be put out of business and fined serverely and even spend time in jail for what they have done. They have sold lots of sick or unhealthy puppies knowing full well once you are out the door and have had the puppy in your home there is no way you will bring it back. I could never take back our baby Julius. I loved him the minute i saw him and if you had a sick child you wouldn't take it back and demand another. I feel the same way about my animals. I just want to see these people pay for their cruelness and immorality. I don't know how they sleep at night.
