Two years ago I bought a computer from Gateway. I was called at my home by a representitive named Emanuel. I bought a Gateway computer from him. I was told that I would recive a bill sometime in the next month after recieving the computer. The computer came to my home and with in a month I had still not recieved a bill. I called Gateway at the only number I knew how to reach them. 1800 GATEWAY

I was told on three seperate occasions that my finacer took "awhile" getting their bills out and to have patience. I followed the advice of the customer care representitives. I recieved a call from a woman on my answering machine- did not leave her name or buisness where she was from- just stated where I should contact her. I almost disregarded the call, but luckily called it back. I was informed by her that I owed Hurley State Bank almost $350 in back payments.

At that time I was a 19 year old full time student and I worked full time also, not to mention I am a single parent. I do not have 350 bucks just to give to someone. I agreed to a one time payment of $27 and then $50/mo. after that. I would not have agreed to a one time payment of a price I could not afford. Apparently my bill had been sent to a totaly wrong address of somewhere I had never lived before. Funny thing is my computer came to the right address though.

I was informed that I could participate in a re-age program. I would pay $67/mo. for 6 months and my account would be brought up to date. I did the program, and was told I was mislead and that I could not participate because my account was not 8 months past due at the time. For 8 months I talked to customer care reps. and paid my $67- but all of a sudden I was wrong??!!

So now I was paying triple for what the computer was worth. I still send payments to a collection agency every month- while getting phone call after phone call demanding money that I don't have. Unfortunatley I do not have family or friends who could lend me the now $1900 bill.

I was mislead and lied to. I have spend numerous hours on the phone trying to resolve this matter, but to no evail. I've been cussed at, threatend, and hung up on. I cannot believe that a buisness would ever treat a consumer the way that I've been treated. Not to mention that I can't even get a cell phone in my name because of the mark on my credit. BEWARE TO ALL- DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM GATEWAY UNLESS PREPARED TO BE RIPPED OFF!
