We signed up to adopt a baby from Russia in March 1999. We received our referral to travel for the baby in November 1999. We were told by the agency's director, Denise L. Hubbard, that the child would be okay with "food, love and attention."

The baby was a 7 month old boy located in the #2 Baby Home in the Perm Region of Russia. Upon being presented to us, he was thin and suffering from an undiagnosed kidney infection.

Seven days later the baby died in our arms in our hotel room in Russia.

We were offered $9,500 for a "refund", but we would have to sign a release stating we would "not spread negative information" about the agency and would waive our rights to sue them.

We did not sign the release and promptly reported them to their state licensing commission who was totally and utterly useless. Nothing was done, and the agency was not even cited for any code violations under the OCR.

Unfortunately for us, we were also adopting another child from Bulgaria at the same time.

After we reported them to the state licensing commission, we were frozen out for the duration of our Bulgarian child's adoption. Denise Hubbard had us communicating directly with her "Corporate Attorney" Richard J. Marco, Jr. who was as big as a liar and piece of s**t as Denise Hubbard.

We were promised our Bulgarian adoption would take "four to six months". This was in October 1999. We did not travel for our son until October 2000, by which time he was 2.5 years old and suffering from post-institutionalization issues.

When it came time to pick up our son, Denise Hubbard charged us another $6,000 (yes - this on top of the $9,500 they owed us from watching a sick baby die in our arms) for our Bulgarian adoption.

When we returned, we found out we could not sue them, for no laws had been broken. Such is the state of international adoption in the United States.

Undeterred, we have vowed to let the world know that this agency and its Director is nothing but a con artist, child pimp and a minor participant in the human flesh trade.
