I was having issues with payday loans taking money out of my wells fargo account. Basically it had gotten out of control and I had to put a stop to it. What happened is I went to my local wells fargo to close my account. I explained my situation to the banker who worked with me to close my account. He went back and forth with his supervisor , called a few people and within about an hour and a half said they would close my account. He took me up to the teller who gave me my money that was in my checking account and also took my ATM card from me with my permission so they could destroy it. This was in March of 2013. Well within a couple of days I looked at my account just to make sure it was closed. What I saw was around 200.00 in NSF fees. I was fuming! I called Wells Fargo and said why am I being charged these NSF fees???
The lady on the other end said that even though I closed my account, that the same day a couple of payday loan companies tried to take money out of my account, therefore leaving my account OPEN! I said that is not right, I closed it and she says let me ask my supervisor...She comes back and tells me...sorry, there is nothing we can do. So my nightmare started. They allowed these payday loan companies to keep trying to take money out of my account until I had a total of 1,085.00 dollars in NSF fees! By the way these Payday loan companies made there money from me just with the interest they charged me. A lesson learned for me. I moved a few months after all this happened and suffice to say they found me. I recieved a letter yesterday from a Collection agency named Warning.com to pay the 1,085.00 from Wells Fargo. A lovely name for a Collection agency and shame on Wells Fargo for using one like that. Wells Fargo is just another example of the greed in this country, and the tatics they will use to charge people for things that should of never even happened. I am unemployed at this moment and helping to take care of my mother and dealing with this nonsense. Shame on you Wells Fargo! Another Scam of a bank!

1) Wells Fargo didn't allow the payday loan companies to try to access your account, you did when you athorized them to draw their money out.
2) Sorry it wasn't explained properly, but an account isn't closed or opened until it goes through nightly processing. However, any debits that try to post against the account will prevent ir from closing.
3) The NSF fees are for the debits being returned unpaid.Wells could have paid them AND charged you overdraft fees.
4) It's not that Wells is using Warning.com. Wells put up the information about you owing them money and Warning paid them the most for the debt. Wells has been paid.
5) Since you owed over $200, Wells reported you to Chex Systems and you will have problems opening or keeping an account at any financial institution that uses Chex Systems until this debt is paid.
No, I don't work for Wells. I worked for Wachovia and got out when I saw what Wells was like during the takeover merger. Good luck on getting this straightened out.
