I am not sure if I am the only one with this problem with this particular facility, but it seems common practice for them to double bill you insurance company.

November of 05', my son was seen in thier ER at the time of service I made my required coinsurance payment and had already met my deductible for the year. Four months later I received the explination of claims from my insurance company. On this explination form there was two charges in the same amount of $891. My insurance company made partial payments on both charges and stated on this form that I was not responsible for the balance.

I then received a bill from Monte. I called their billing department, which SUCKS, and faxed all the forms. They said they would take care of this. Then all of a sudden I received a notice from a collection agency. I again called and refaxed the info... a few weeks later I received another notice from yet a different collecion agency in regards to the same bill. What do I do?

This seems to keep happening to all my claims. I my self went to the ER in May 06'. Again I made my coinsurance payment and had already met my deductible for the year, being pregnant and all. As of Jan 06' I was with a new insurance company. This was told to billing and put on my records, yet just this week I received a notice from my old insurance company stating that Montefiore tried to recover monies for the services rendered in May 06, which my new insurance company already paid for.

I am in constant battle with Montefiore's billing dept. They never seem to have my payments on record and I am constantly faxing the cancelled checks to them and always more than once. This is very stressful especially in my current medical condition. No matter what I seem to do I am always ending up with a collection notice and this frigentens me since I have repaired my credit and don't need to go back.

The sad part in all of this is that the medical care provide by Montefiore is phenominal!!! The doctors and medical staff are great. It would be ashame for me to have to part ways since I have been with my pediatrician for 12 years now.

Is there anything I can do? If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
