I made the mistake of purchasing a condominium from Sedgwick Properties Development Corporation of Chicago more than 1 year ago. After 1 year my unit is still not complete and there is no completion date in sight. I have significant and expensive punch-list and warranty items (amounting to many thousands of dollars) that seriously detract from the livability of my unit, and that have not been fixed or even acknowledged by this pathetic company.

For example, the wood floors were completely trashed during construction. In another case I paid over $900 for hardware that has never been delivered, and this money has not been refunded to me, nor has the debt even been acknowledged. Repeated attempts to communicate with this company have fallen on deaf ears.

Clearly this is a company that does not stand behind its products and will walk away from its legal commitments. Clearly this is a company that believes in treating its customers with complete contempt. Many other owners in this development also have unfinished punch-list and warranty items and the building common areas are still in need of a great deal of work more than 1.5 years after units have been sold and occupied. You would be well advised to not make the mistake of doing business with this pathetic company.
