I was hired by this contractor through the sit called Guru so I thought it was l legitimate. He contacted me about a week after I had submitted a proposal, nothing unusual about that, and requested a phone interview with me to discuss the client. I was amendable to that since it is nice to put a voice at least with the name when you are hiring someone.

He wanted a huge bulk of orders and was willing to pay each week. I agreed to this, explaining that I had time for maybe ten of these a day so it would take a couple of weeks to get it done. He was fine with that at first and sent me the directions for the work.

After getting started he asked me to take on more work. Since I had other clients at the time I said that I was not able to do so. He pretty much told me that I would have to hire freelancers to assist me in order to get it in on time and constantly emailed me to say he needed more articles each day. Since I was working with him througha reputable site, I did not find this strange and felt that it could be trusted. And so I hired on a couple of freelancers, most of which were talented writers with tons of experience and the right degrees to help.

In a span of about a week we submitted about 140 articles to this man, each supposedly worth $10-$12. I had submitted some earlier and was told I was doing them great and to keep going and so I did. All of a sudden, on payday, he said all of them were rejected and we would not pay for them. The only reason I was given was a one word response "grammar" How that many articles had problems, and I wasn't allowed to fix the mistakes, seems fishy to me. I know I am not a perfect grammarist, but I had the writers do it, some editors on board, looked them over myself, and submitted them for review to the client who should have also edited them before passing them on.

Now because of this person I am short over $1500, plus I need to pay almost $400 of my own money to the freelancers I hired at his request. When asking if I would get paid, he finally answered after three days saying that you do not get paid for job interviews so he was not going to pay me.

Stay away from this man at all costs if you are trying to actually make money in writing!
