Company refuses to refund $55 for an group event (to see Ain't Misbehavin on 5/16/09 ) that was paid through paypal 2/15/09, 3 months before show date; the group trip was cancelled on the same day of the show (with tickets never purchased) and no refund given.

Below is a copy of the paypal receipt indicating purchase (unfortunately the refund time through paypal has reached the statute of limitations since 3 months had lapsed). Below is the email conversation with the owner of Black singles magazine Mark Anthony Jenkins stating that he would provide a refund but it was a way of him stringing me along in hopes that I forget. It shouldn't take 1 month to get paid back for somthing that was never purchased on your behalf.

Mark, your group and the events that you plan are great; I take nothing away from that. You must understand that sometimes it is not only money but principle as well. If you have to ask me for my address again (as you do in this email) it causes me to question if I was even going to be paid back. If you pay money for an event (in my case 2 months before show date) and learn on the day of the show that your reservation is cancelled and tickets were not even purchased you expect immediate refund. No matter how large or small, I repeat, small the expense it is the principle; actions always speak louder than words. What this tells me is that if Mark Anthony Jenkins is giving a large trip that costs 1500-2500 dollars and I tell my friends about it (having them purchase as well) I may think twice about leaving deposits or even paying for the trip not knowing if the trip is even going to happen (refer back to cancellation on same day above)or if what I paid
would be returned. So if you do have an event where it is necessary or mandatory for you to get deposits people will be hesitant, not pay and as a result hurt your future ability to plan activities. Once again the underlying premise is principle; it is one thing to be out $55, I can go to atlantic city and do that in 10 minutes knowing it was a gamble, its another thing when you are paying for an item or service that you expect to get and don't recieve it or the money back you paid to get it. This would lead me and many others to ask, Is Mark Anthony Jenkins and the events that he plans a gamble?
