The events of December 14th 2012 in Sandy Hook, CT have changed our lives forever.  We lost our precious little boy Noah, the youngest of the 20 children slaughtered by a crazed gunman. My wife and I as well as our two surviving children, who made it out of that elementary school physically unscathed, have tried our best to go on with our lives.  Unfortunately, Mr. Alexis Haller, my wife's brother and a Washington State attorney,  positioned himself early on, and without our consent as our spokesperson and representative. He made declarations and statements in the media, submitted legislative proposals, diverted and appropriated sympathy mail & gifts addressed to us to a PO Box in Newtown, collected money (and made himself "trustee" of said funds) and registered domain names and email addresses in our murdered son's name in the wake of  our tragedy, even though neither of us signed any retainer agreement with him or gave him permission to do so.  I am sure that you would agree as an attorney that it is patently unethical – whether in the State of Washington or Connecticut - to “engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.”  See Rule 8.4 (c)  (8.4 (3) in CT He continues to use the events of December 14th to further his career as an attorney.  The sad truth is that Alexis had virtually no relationship with Noah.  He met our son all of three times in his short life and never had communications with either my wife, myself or any of our three children prior to taking a parasitic interest in Noah's death, immediately realizing that such a high profile case could bring him prominence and fame.  His self-promoting actions caused us immeasurable pain. Understandably paralyzed by grief, we have been unable to articulate our feelings of violation and exploitation until now, but we want other victims of high profile tragedies to understand that victimization by individuals who  highjack personal tragedy is a bleak reality.
