I like many others I am hearing about, have been caught by the very cleverly crafted sales operation of MRI. I am currently trying to resolve the lack of financing facilities since the downturn. I was duped into believing that Capital Financial Partners were an independent financial operation that would look after my interests. I now find that all interest in me seems to have evaporated.

I have contemplated various options going forward and have decided to go public in order to try to gather some pace in this activity.

I am listing below the activity that I am embarked upon and would like to receive contacts from all who are interested in taking part. I have so far contacted a few similarly financially disadvantaged' people and have received some positive responses and I would guess some people are still not sure whether to join in.

Below is a copy of an e-mail I sent to others I am trying to get involved.

I have been doing some background work and have contacted the BBC twice but I think there is something fishy going on, as they won't talk to me! It is reported to me that MRI have a contact at the BBC and so MRI gets info on anyone trying to get something going-I personally have no way of verifying this though so it is given uncorroborated.

I am considering another tack as I previously had connections with a timeshare company that was not delivering on promises. This was resolved by having a dedicated 'website forum' that allowed individuals to register and through this a group of affected investors formed and got organised to the point of developing legal approaches to the problem.

I have now established the necessary work to set up the forum website. There are several web addresses available that would suit the purpose; for example: mriinvestors.org.uk.

The forum could be up and running in as little as 3 days and is fully structured for the purpose with all the legal disclaimers required. It could be set up in a variety of ways and the format of the site can be modified as time goes by or needs dictate. The site administrator can control the access and content.

I would like you to consider this and feedback your potential interest, also that of any other contacts you may have.

The IT costs of this are offered, because the IT company knows me, at the rate he would charge any registered charity;

57 per year to host the website on a commercial platform
450 for 2-year use of the CMS forum software including all training (4 hours)
10~50 for domain name depending on which one is chosen

Firstly; would you support such an approach and/or would any of your contacts?

Secondly; would you or any of your contacts be prepared in the first instance to make some form of contribution to the cost of setting this up? The more people the cheaper it becomes! If I could get a list of say 10 it would cost around 55 each. I would be prepared to take the responsibility of setting the forum up and act as administrator and my IT contact has agreed to be the recipient of any legal approaches from MRI (of which I am sure there would be many). He is an ex-police officer who handled the previous timeshare case IT requirements so he is well suited to this.

Note: What happened last time was that we got the forum up and running with a few people sharing the costs, this grew to many hundreds of forum members. When we had established the legal cases that were potentially available to the group a fee was levied across all in the forum to proceed with the court cases (this was around 100 per person). People in the forum generally fall into a group (ex-employees, investors etc.) and so each group would have their own legal position and share the costs. In the case of the Timeshare organisation the company conceded when it saw the weight of the people it was potentially fighting and agreed a compromise-the desired outcome of this activity would be decided by forum members!

Please give this some thought as one of the facets of the site could be a confidential statements page whereby registered individuals can describe their grievances in full. This would then form the basis of documents to be reviewed by legal teams.

Please copy and paste this Italicised section and send it to your MRI ex-employee and Investor contacts, who are financially disadvantaged through their dealings with MRI, to gain their support and should you be able to get an agreement for a contribution to the scheme then payment could either be by PayPal or I could circulate in pdf form invoices to all who agree and this would be direct from the IT company. I would not personally be involved in taking any money. My interest in this activity is purely to gather as many facts on the greatest number of affected people with the purpose of seeing what legal approaches may be taken against MRI's activities.

Please Note: In the interests of fairness if the outcome of this activity is that MRI have done nothing wrong then their case would be proven-but I doubt that!

I look forward to hearing from you - a financially disadvantaged MRI investor!

Any interested parties can reply to an e-mail address set up for this purpose.I will undertake to keep your identity secure throughout this.

With-holding e-mail addresses

AUTHOR: Mr I Nvestor - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Having originated the main report to which the comments are attached. I would like 'RIPOFF REPORT' to consider some convenient way that affected clients of the person / company can in fact contact and talk to each other. Surely being a member of a group that 'talks' cannot be a problem can it?

My point is that your site helps people air their views however most of us want to 'get even not mad'. Are you prepared to help us take the next step or is the only way for us to operate successfully to navigate away from the site?

I believe that people can and should make their own minds up whether to talk to other people. judgement is usually made by the things said and the manner in which they are said. I would have thought that with a suitable disclaimer then no more should be necessary than to make the contact possible.

In view of your site being set up for the purpose of bringing about change I again ask that my e-mail address be made available to others so that contact can be made - in the UK complaints board does facilitate this without issue. It is simply a matter for the user deciding that their address should be published.

POSTED: Monday, March 23, 2009

Hi there

There are many people in the same situation and we have been trying to unite all the splinter groups that are working hard out there to try and reclaim their money and sanity with a group action.

There is a page set up on Facebook called MRISG-MRI Support Group.

You can try and make contact there if you wish.

MRI/DCC PROPERTIES - I WOULD AVOID THESE AT ALL COSTS/THIS MAY BE A WAY OF GETTING SOME MONEY BACK

AUTHOR: Janet - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Monday, March 23, 2009

I am in contact with an MRI buyer, who like most of us, is extremely unhappy with the way they do business.
They said that they managed to get some of their money back by putting a claim in with their credit card.
Obviously, this is a way forward for people who have paid for anything by credit card and have not got what they paid for.
People who have not had their furtniture delivered and are now being asked for VAT on top of the price they were quoted could probably get their money back this way rather than forking out another 20%.
Similarly with people who have paid CFP only to find that they can't get them a mortgage

Holding back the e-mail address

AUTHOR: Mr I Nvestor - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Sunday, March 22, 2009

I note that Rip Off have with-held my specially created e-mail address from the report and having read the reasoning I can now understand the basis of this. I would however suggest that interested parties respond by making a reply on this site and then maybe Rip Off will consider helping us in this matter?
