Whos Who Registry Of Academic Excellence For 2008-2009 They stated my daughter was nominated and we completed the biography profile and order books, plagues and other items Mar 2, 2009. They stated we would have the items in 4-6 weeks and would recieve confirmation of the information in 2-3 weeks. I have received nothing and am out several hundred dollars. I ordered these items because I am very proud of my daughters accomplishments. Washington District of Columbia

Liar, Liar Mr. Adam Camp

Mr Adam Camp is truly an awesome LIAR!!! I ordered the exlcusive package back in 04/08/2009 and up to this date have not received anything at all. The company's phone number, the same as Mr. Adam Camp put on there, is not a real phone number. That phone number is a relay service. What happens now Mr. Adam Camp???? Where is my package or where is my money. I really would appreciate an email from you to really get some answers. It was such an honor and joy to receive that letter back then but ever since then it has been a nightmare. People like Mr. Adam Camp should be punished by the legal system for taking several hundred dollars. I am still waiting for my publication, plaque and information to get to me. I sure hope he is for real and will expect a response from you Mr. Adam Camp. My lawyers have been very anxious and are still investigating your company. Norma Edinburg, TX

Possible scam

I have a son who was nominated in the who's who registry. We placed an order and were assured that we would get it in August. Then my husband called when August came and he was told there was a slight delay. We have been told Sept.,Oct.,and November. After November our phone calls have neither been answered nor returned. I am left to believe at this point we have infact been scammed. I have left numerous messages and now when I call the voice mail box is said to be full and we are not even able to leave a message with the customer service department. Our son is a highly intellegent child who would appreciate his award. How can a company claim to not be a scam if they won't even answer their messages, much less the phone.

Whos Who Registry of Academic Excellence is Not a Ripoff
AUTHOR: Adam Camp - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Monday, October 12, 2009
This is in response to "Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence is a Ripoff". My name is Adam Camp and I am president of the American Who's Who Association, publishers of Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence.
Our company is by no means a fraud or ripoff. We simply publish an annual 500-700 page, hard-cover book that features middle and high school students that maintain a required level academic achievement. There has been some confusion between our organization and other Who's Who companies, namely KGLA Publications of Canton, GA, as well as Who's Who Students of San Antonio, TX. We are by no means associated with either organization as KGLA has filed for bankruptcy as of early 2008, and we anticipate Who's Who Students to be out of business shortly also.
American Who's Who Association is the longest tenured Who's Who educational organization operating today. We have created and distributed more than 125,000 books since inception and awarded over $100,000.00 in educational scholarships.
In your case, Amanda, I sincerely apologize for confusion of your order. Our process works like this: we recieve nominations year round from various sources. You and your child are mailed a letter inviting you to apply. Following your application, pending acceptance, you will receive confirmation of her inclusion in the book and this will be in the form of the actual biography as it will appear in the publication. At this time you will have the option to purchase a copy of the book if you choose but by no means is a purchase necessary. From this point, we compile students from around the country over the course of the school year and on May 1st every year, we cut off application entries in order to allow our editors time to edit biographies, crop photos, design the content and layout of the publication, and finally, send off to multiple factories to actually produce and manufacture the end product. The process from when our editors finish the design until the book manufacturer completes the order and mails truckloads of books back to our distribution center is typically 8-10 weeks.
I truly hope this message finds you and I also hope you haven't given up hope on receiving your merchandise. If you would like to call me, please do at 202-470-6246 and I will make sure to give you all details on the state of your order. Once again, please accept my apology for your stress and aggravation.

Not a ripoff

I don't know if your problems have been resolved, but my daughter was also nominated and I included her information and ordered something. I had wondered where it was and emailed the company and they responded in a timely manner, letting me know when all the items were being shipped. I received the product I ordered last week (approximately June 19, 2009. I don't know if it is a ripoff as far as being included in this book as I have read conflicting information about students being sent letters and not really having the grades for it. I do know my other daughter was never sent a letter to be included.
