Unfortunately, you cannot buy a legitimate diploma. Those are scams, hands down, and may fool some people, on the rare occasion, but the truth is, there really are no credentials behind it, only ink and paper. It would still be incomplete. There are legitimate online colleges or high school courses that can be taken (e.g. Ashford University, University of Phoenix) to gain a degree or your high school diploma, which is good when you are very busy, and work around your schedule. If not, then try your local community colleges to finish high school requirements or just going to school part-time. If you want the accomplishment, then you would have to work for it. It's been said that if it seems too good to be true, chances are, it is. The quickest way (not necessarily easy, just takes less time) to REALLY gain a diploma is to take the GED exams. It would only take 3 days (if you don't go to the optional classes that prepare you for them), is taken like you would take an SAT/ACT, and you will be notified through phone and mail if you pass or fail in a week or two.

There are some easy ways to avoid being ripped off by fake colleges.

First, you cannot buy a reputable college degree that trades college-level instruction for life experience. Volunteer and work experience is something you put on your resume; it is separate from college level instruction.

Another poster stated some people cannot go to college and they should get credit for their life experience. Well, you are 'given credit' for that by listing all that experience on your resume. You are not given duplicate credit for it again as a college degree. They are 2 separate things.

You cannot 'buy' a reputable degree under any circumstances, period.

You should check into accreditation before doing business with any college. Simply call the accreditation organizations to confirm what the college claims.

Check to see if your chosen profession has any accreditation requirements. Then check if your college is regionally accredited. I'm not saying you must meet all these requirements, just go into it with your eyes wide open.

Google 'reputation' and the name of the school.

they swear up and down tyey are accredited they know they are lying. why cant this illigal activity be stopped!!!!

Come on-you had to have known that it was a fake diploma!! When you say, "That worried me but I decided to buy the 3.5 GPA and the total came out to a little over $300" I'm VERY surprised that didn't seem fishy to you. It screams "fake" to me. I have 2 Bachelor's degrees and a Master's degree from reputable universities, but I worked hard for them and it took many years. I didn't go to a website and PAY for them.
I'm not trying to belittle you. I would highly suggest studying and going to get your GED, instead of wasting your time and money falling for those scam diploma/degree websites.

I have read many negative reports about Belford University, also some good ones. It appears that most of the negative ones come from people wanting their money back or because they have been turned down for a job! It is nonsense.

A lot of people have not had the chance to go to University in their youth. They, however, have often lead a life full of experience in their field of expertise. The system as it is seldom rewards this expertise. Belford University does. And it should. There are countless 'Honorary Degrees' rewarding people who did not get a Degree in their youth but achieved excellence in their professional lives.

I have personally employed people with a Degree from Belford University, not only because of the piece of paper, but also because of the content of their CV. A Diploma is far from being the only criteria for getting a job!

I believe that Belford University should be seen as a chance for all. The accreditation process is a good one. And, believe me, I have interviewed candidates from not 'on-line' Universities and faced mediocrity unseen from Belford candidates.
