July of this year an e-mail was sent to us regarding refinancing. We filled out the application and submitted it to Money Tree Mortgage. We were contacted by a loan officer by the name of Richard Kelog. A about a week later we were contacted by Richard again and he informed us that Money Tree had approved us for a refinance loan.
All we needed to do was send in 300.00 for the application fee. later we were contacted again by Richard and he informed us of the paperwork that was needed and a contract was sent to us to sign with the interest rate and new monthly payment. We mailed to the our W2's, check stups, 2 years of tax information, etc, they have our life history. After this was done and weeks Richard informed us that we would be refinanced within 60 days. We called Money Tree to see the status of our applications and was informed that Richard Keloge was no longer with the company.
This is when we started dealing with Roger Lewis, he informed us that we need to clean up our credit, in so many words, we were not approved altho we had signed the contract and sent it back. I informed Roger Lewis we wanted our money back and he said we could not get it because they were going to refinance our loan once we cleaned up our credit and it might be 6 months later.
After demanding our money he informed me that there was nothing he could do, I would have to speak with Stephanie Mitchell in the Junior Underwriting Department, I called and left messages, either she had just left or she was on the phone. I tried to explain to Stephanie Mitchell that we wanted our money back and she point blank said no, we have not told you we would not refinance your loan, you will get it back at closing, when?
I also ask to speak with someone over Stephanie Mitchell and Roger Lewis and no one knew who that was, I even sent a letter to the CEO, President and Vice President demanding my money and no one contacted me. To this date I have not heard from Money Tree Mortgage except the messages that was left on my phone from Roger Lewis and Stephanie Mitchell stating they have nothing to do with my loan and as for filing a complaint, leave their names our, NO I WILL NOT LEAVE OUT THEIR NAMES.
I would not trust these people with a dog house, all we want is our money back and they will not hear from us again.
We want our money back as soon as possible.

Upcoming Hearing In Kansas
AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, February 26, 2004
Hey Stephonie MITCHELL, remember talking to Doug and Brenda (I was the one that "cussed Tiwiana YOUNG out"), we are planning on giving a deposition in March regarding your mortgage practices. In June we will be testify at a hearing. Nice to see your Olathe Kansas office is closed, could that be because the Office of the Kansas State Bank Commissioner REVOKED Money Tree's license and is now looking at FINES. Back in August, you should have just return our money and we would not be looking for payback. IF you want to send us the $700 you have our telephone number to call us. Otherwise your FULL name will be used many time in the deposition and hearing at the OSBC, maybe you ought to come and tell your side of the story for all the people your have screwed here in Kansas and elsewhere.
I will be sure and update the findings of the hearing.

Money Tree mortages, as of 01/18/04
Last month I was approached by these slimeballs to do work for their E-Mail marketing system. As a result, they owe me over $30000 and wrote me a bad check for $1000. All of this is documented and i'm going to a lawyer monday. This is the information I can provide on them that I am putting in web format for future viewing on http://sweb.com/~zaph0d/moneytreefraud.txt (draft) and http://moneytreefraud.sweb.com I just started this project tonight. Didn't know these guys were such criminals.
It will contain something similar to the following draft I have:
Copyrighted by SWEB INC, (2004). Distribution is restricted.
We just got done doing over $30k worth of work for MoneyTree Mortages, in Woodstock, GA, just outside of Atlanta (a small suburb).
Upon our first invoice we were written a bad check. So as a result of seeing their misdealings and fraud throughout the nation, I am posting
this so you can get your money back too. This is nationwide I am finding out and not limited to my own $30000+ of business money & time they got,
code they stole, and money I've spent for them after written assurances of payment.
So far these are shady operators at best. They change offices locations and more just at the flip of a hat. They've already talked about
going international which would leave all of us screwed.
Please contact info@sweb.com with any info you feel would help or info on our ongoing legal cases. We are trying our hardest on this and our efforts combined will give us more power over these swindlers.
This is what I have been given by MoneyTree for public contact information. This information was given prior to them not fulfilling their invoices, and
I was not told to keep it private.
I do not restrict distribution of this document assuming it is left fully intact and unmodified with the SWEB INC copyright notice at the top of the document.

This is in response to Stephonie, hear from the KS office lately? I hear it's closed and under investigation. What was that you said about the truth? The truth always comes out in the end, and the truth always sets you free. We will not stop until Money Tree is out of business altogether....Maybe you should start looking for another telemarketing job. Have a wonderful day.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson:
I'm going to keep this short. I apparently don't have as much time as you to be writing war and peace novels of how I was wronged. As I said before we have all supporting documents. This mystery application that you have that shows a different market value...where is it??? When I faxed you our copy, I never heard from you again. Instead of you trying to prove your case to us and showing us a copy of this application, you're utilizing all of your energy jumping on the band wagon and bashing our company. Setting aside the fact that we will always work with you on your credit, You were DISHONEST. I would love for you to prove us wrong, but it seems like you don't want to be productive...you just want to threaten us. Remember...the truth always comes out at the end. Take care..

Response to Stephonie Mitchell from Kenneth & Marie Thompson
I do not care about you using our last name. You are acting as if you own this company and you are the only one there to speak with. No, we do not trust your company and no, we are not going to let your company finance our home. As for the application that you are speaking of, it is not the original one, (I have the original computer generated copy and the one that your company sent back and they are different). The only thing I want from your company is OUR MONEY BACK. I have called and left a message for Randy Weaver on his voice mail. That was on Monday 17 November 03. We do not want to speak with anyone but him. I called back today and ask for his voice mail and we were informed that he does not have a voice mail. Since he is the owner of theis company and as many $300.00 this company has ripped off from consumers, we do not believe he does not have a voice mail, that is a lie. When we first applied with this company we were informed that within 60 days we would become refinanced, that is what Richard Keloge told us, now you and Roger Lewis is stating something different. I am not going to prolong this any longer with your company, I have turned everything over to local TV Stations, Newspapers in Austin, TX and in WoodStock GA, the Attorney General of the State of Texas, the U.S. Attorney General, CBS 60 Minutes. All of this could have been avoided if your company had been honest to begin with.

Hello, my name is Stephonie Mitchell, the Underwriter that Kenneth and Marie are talking about. Don't worry, I won't disclose your last name to the world as you have done mine.
When you first applied with us you filled out an application online(before you gave the fee) Richard contacted you letting you know that we received your application for a refinance and could do something for you. On the application that you filled out you put your market value of your home as 140k. With your credit score, payoff, and market value we could do something for you. Knowing that we could do something for you, you gave an application fee that is refundable at closing. You also signed a sheet stating that. Your file went to processing with all of the information you submitted and supporting documents to confirm that information. You told Roger, a processor, that your market value of your home is in fact 119k...NOT 140k on the 13th of October at 1:08pm.
Being that Money Tree is an ethical company I'm not able to disclose any credit issues you had. So that puts you at an advantage with being able to disclose all information.
I spoke to Marie on 10-27-03 at 4:39pm responding to a nasty email she sent demanding her money back. Even though Marie and Kenneth were dishonest about their market value we still were trying to tell them different options of getting refinanced with our company. Marie wanted to argue and yell at me. Then she said that she never put 140k as their market value. I then faxed her a copy of her original application from September 2. 2003 at 8:03pm showing her that she did. You would think that when they both signed a document stating that their fee is refundable only at the time of closing(on Sept 3), that they would make sure that all of their information was correct. There is no way we could know at the beginning that their actual market value is 119k instead of 140k...We eventually find that out with an appraisal ordered. Plus when you fill out an application online, before you can submit you application, a disclosure pops up letting you know ahead of time that our fee is refundable only at closing...Go ahead and try it: mtmortgageonline.com.
Everything that I've stated above has supporting documents(right in front of me)to prove it. Marie and Kenneth, we still have your file and if you want to work with us, give us a call. You two have a super day.
