CitiMortgage Fails To Pay Property Taxes From Escrow 2 Years In A Row Rip Off, Thieves, Greedy Corporation Columbus Ohio

I have my mortgage through CitiMortgage, not by my choice, but because they bought my mortgage. I have an escrow account and this is the second year that I have had to fight to get my property taxes paid on time.

Last year I was contacted by my city treasurer to report my taxes had not been paid and commenced to fight with CitiMortgage to pay my taxes. They ended up paying them some time in January of '08' along with the late payment fee.

Fast forward to August '08' and my property tax bill has already been sent to CitiMortgage to get the discount rate if paid by September 30. No such luck, October sent another copy of tax bill to CitiMortgage, spoke to at least 10 people that sent me in circles. November comes along and still no taxes have been paid from my escrow account. Sent another copy. It is now the end of November and I have now faxed a copy of the tax bill to the appropriate office to be paid ASAP.

I called the city building today and low and behold, the taxes have not been paid and must be postmarked by November 30, 2008 or back to the tax lien office my home goes along with a late fee.

I called CitiMortgage and asked to speak to the President, obviously this was a sarcastic request, and they could not transfer me to that office. I did manage to talk to an account manager who asked me all kinds of questions and then told me their computers were down and therefore could not help at that time but I could call back in 1 hour.

I find it amazing this company is on it's second bail out from the American taxpayers, you would think they would have a little better customer service skills. No wonder they are in such a financial mess, they take money from us and go out and have a good time at our expense.
