I was ripped off by Pierre Prophete (pierre@sunelec.com) and John Kimball (johnkimball@sunelec.com) of Sun Electronics. I found Sun Electronics through internet, here is their website http://www.sunelec.com/
Pierre Prophete offered me ridiculously low prices, so I went for it and ordered from them.
Pierre Prophete said they didn't take credit cards, so I had to pay in advance by check. This is part of their ploy. If people paid by credit card, they could do charge-back after they looked at what was shipped to them (if anything).
After the check cleared, it took Pierre Prophete forever to ship the stuff. I had to call and call, and be pushed around by both Pierre Prophete and John Kimball. There was one lame excuse after another. At one point the batteries I ordered were "sold to another customer". Then Pierre Prophete couldn't find the other items I ordered. It was just ridiculous.
After multiple phone calls to both Pierre Prophete and John Kimball, the owner of Sun Electronics, my stuff was finally shipped.
Unfortunately the unpleasantness was not over. Pierre Prophete and John Kimball grossly misrepresented their merchendise. The solar items I ordered were defective, and the unpleasantness I had to go through was even worse than the rip-off itself. Later I also discovered numerous problems with their batteries.
I wouldn't rehash all the nastiness that transpired between myself and Pierre Prophete and John Kimball and Sun Electronics. In the end - they ripped me off.
This is what I got to say to you, Pierre Prophete and John Kimball: what goes around comes around!

Never had a problem with Sunelectronics

I have been buying solar panels and components from John Kimball for over 30 years. I teach at a local college and have no financial relationship with Sunelectronics. John and his employees have provided the people of South Florida and the Carribean with affordable solar systems. They do get busy at times and errors are sometimes made, but John is always ready to resolve any issues and I would never characterize him as "unetical", that is truly unfair. Louis Prophete is also one of the best solar technicians that I know. These guys love the business of solar energy and at least from my vantage point, they have contributed to the proliferation of solar in our part of the world. I suggest that the person that filed the report try one more time, in a rational and professional tone to communicate with John. There is nothing that cannot be resolved with this organization.

Joe,
First and foremost, I am truly sorry you had a bad experience with our company. After over a decade of business, there has only been one issue with a negative report online, this one. We do have ridiculously low prices, but not because they are damaged or broken materials. They are due to my 36 years in the industry, and getting deals is what we are good at. We do accept credit cards, so I am unsure who told you that we dont. Any customer will tell you we accept all major credit cards. Pierre is still an employee here, and is an intelligent and honest salesmen. From your complaint, I apologize you had issues getting your items. I am just unsure how a ripoff, or scam, involves you getting the product, and we would have gladly refunded your money if unhappy, as we do with all our products. Our panels and batteries are covered by our or the manufacturers warranty. I am sorry you feel you got ripped off, however, our inventory is not a scam. Our thousands and thousands of return customers do not believe it is a scam. Anyone who has come in to see our inventory and the quality of the products we carry (BP, Kyocera, Evergreen, Rolls-Surrette) does not think we are running a scam. After this many years, and the reputation we have built, I find it hard to believe that we have survived this long and been this successful running a "scam". We do our best here to please every customer we get. You will find one compaint against us, along with 2 rebuttals, one from another customer. Even though 1 complaint every decade is great in our opinion, I wish we could have helped you more and made it zero.

Very Satisfied with Sun Electronics

I have been purchasing solar panels and inverters from Sun Electronics for the past 3 years. I have purchased both Evergreen B grade and Sun Electronics Sun modules and have never had a problem with the power output . The cosmetic imperfection on the Evergreen b grade modules are so small that they are barely noticeable. I have dealt with both Pierre Prophete and John Kimball in the past and if I ever received an item which I wasn't satisfied with, Sun Electronics replaced at no extra cost to me.
