I BELIEVE THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THESE PEOPLE ONCE OR TWICE AND BOTH TIMES THEY WERE INFORMED OF MY SITUTATION AND THAT THE MATTER WAS TAKEN CARE WITH THE ORIGINAL LENDER. I WAS MADE AWARE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO THAT THESE SCUM BAG COLLECTORS, AND I'M BEING NICE, HAD BEEN CALLING PEOPLE THAT I HAD NOT SPOKEN TO IN YEARS, CURRENT FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILY, ETC. THEY ARE TRYING TO CONTACT ME REGARDING STUDENT LOANS AS WELL. I HAD TAKEN CARE OF THE SITUATION WITH ORIGINAL LENDER OF THE LOAN, AT LEAST I THOUGHT I HAD. CALLS MADE BY SOME ONE BY THE NAME OF "NIKKI", WHO I AM TOLD IS A FEMALE, STATES TO SOME PEOPLE THAT SHE IS AN OLD FRIEND OF MINE, AND CO-WORKER OF MINE, THAT WE RAN A BUSINESS TOGETHER A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. THESE ARE ALL LIES. FIRST, I'VE NEVER HAD A FRIEND NAMED "NIKKI", I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH ANYONE BY THAT NAME, AND I'VE NEVER OWNED OR OPERATED MY OWN BUSINESS BY SELF LET ALONE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. THESE COLLECTORS HAVE GONE AS FAR AS TELLING PEOPLE THAT I WORK FOR THEM OR THAT I HAVE CURRENTLY FILLED OUT AN APPLICATION FOR A LOAN AND THAT I HAVE USES THE PERSON SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO OBTAIN THIS LOAN AND THAT THEY SHOULD CALL ME ABOUT THAT. AND THEY EVEN TELL THE PERSON THAT THEY SHOULD CHECK ON THEIR CREDIT, THAT I MAY HAVE DONE THIS WITH SOMETHING ELSE.

THE PHONE NUMBERS THAT THEY CALL FROM COME UP ON MY CALLER ID AND THEY COME UP IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. THEY COME UP AS OUT OF AREA, 800#S WILL POP UP AND NOW THIS NEW ONE.... REYNOLDSBUR, OH. THEY DO NOT LEAVE ANY MESSAGES EITHER. THE CALLS ARE EVEN COMING INTO MY HOME AT 8 AM. FROM WHAT I REMEBER, THIS IS A TOTAL VIOLATION OF THE FEDERAL COLLECTION LAWS. I USE TO BE A COLLECTOR AND THIS WAS ALWAYS BROUGHT UP DUE TO THE CALLS MADE TO PEOPLE WERE USUALLY OUTSIDE OF OUR CALLING AREA AND IN OTHER STATES. THE WAY THESE COLLECTORS, NIKKI IN PARTICULAR, MAKES ME SICK. AS A COLLECTOR I WOULD NEVER HAD SPOKEN TO OR TREATED A PERSON LIKE THAT. THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THEY ARE SPEAKING TO AND DEALING WITH ANOTHER PERSON. I DON'T THINK THEY WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE TALKING TO THEM LIKE THAT OR ONE OF THEIR FRIENDS OR LOVED ONES. MAYBE THEY SHOULD THINK ABOUT THAT, ACTUALLY THE MANAGERS THAT OVERSEE THEM SHOULD REALLY BE LOOKED AT AND TALKED TO AS WELL. THEY CAN AND SOMETIMES ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THE COLLECTORS WHEN THINGS GET BAD.... MAYBE THESE CHEESE HEADS SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT THAT... SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE GETTING UPSET AND IT ONLY TAKES ONE PERSON SOMETIMES TO MAKE THING HAPPEN.

I WOULD HAVE CONTACTED THIS COMPANY A WHILE AGO, IF THEY DIDN'T ACT LIKE TOTALY JERKS TO THE PEOPLE THEY HAD CONTACTED AND COMMIT FALSE AND MISLEADING REPRESENTATIONS. I HAD TO STRUGGLE WITH THE ORIGINAL LENDER DUE TO THEY NEVER EVER SEEMED TO GET ANY OF THE FORMS THAT I WOULD FILL OUT AND THEY NEVER SEEMED TO GET THE FAXES I WOULD SEND TO THEM; SOMETIMES 4 TIMES IN ONE DAY; OR THEY WOULD NOT GET THEM VIA MAIL. THOSE COLLECTORS DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THE OTHER WAS DOING HOWEVER, THE EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD WITH THEM WAS NOT LIKE THE ONES FOR GC SERVICES.

I HOPE SOMEONE CAN STOP THIS COMPANY FROM HARASSING NOT ONLY THE PEOPLE THAT OWE MONEY TO SOMEONE, BUT ALSO TO THE REFERENCES OR CONTACT THAT PEOPLE MAY HAVE BEEN PUT AT THE TIME OF LOAN. NOT EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY HAVE GREAT PAYING JOBS TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD EVERYTHING THEY NEED AND PAY THEIR DEBTS. IT MAKES IT HARD WHEN PEOPLE WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES HAVE TO BE HARASSED ON ALMOST A DAILY BASIS BY INDIVIDUALS THAT WORK FOR COMPANIES LIKE THIS. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND HOPE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO STOP THESE JERKS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A CORRUPT COMPANY TO ME AND THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED.

let's cry like a little babies

gc services does not take money that does not belong to them. If your social security number flagged a for a federal debt guess what we will collect on it a bigger companies hire gc services you're gonna tell me companies like sallie mae susie mae and nellie mae and so on are going against federal law how would they be in business no they wouldn't. All this is about is al little baby who thought she got away with a free loan and was mad when we found her...she is all over the place first I paid it off then I thought finally it was I would've gotten contact with them get your story straight before you run your mouth about a company.

I want to let everybody know that they have federal programs to help you pay the stuff off you don't have to pay the full 10,000 100,000 whatever amount now. if your loan is in default look it up there is a rehabilitation or william d ford perhaps if your care about your credit score you can find all of the things you need to inform yourself before you sign up in the something you do not understand on a federal w ebsite

GC is a SCAM, Employees Lie

AUTHOR: Danya - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 16, 2011

I know for a fact that GC Services are a giant scam. I DID pay off my studnet loan debt in full. This has nothing to do with not wanting to pay bills, or not being able to.

GC is using underhanded tactics to take money that doesn't rightfully belong to the company.

That's called stealing.

I suggest you work somewhere else, if you have any sense of fairness about you.

"Pay Your Bills" - Easier said than done!

AUTHOR: Mim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 03, 2009

I agree - one should never reach for more than they can handle - i.e. take out a loan for more then they can afford.

But consider this before you have the knee-jerk reaction to judge someone who winds up in collections:

Most people with student loan debts took on that debt with a vision of making a better financial future for themselves - including the ability to pay off their student loans.

Think about it... who actually makes a decision to take out student loan in order to further their education and career prospects and then makes a conscious decision to give the finger to the lender?

If you've been paying attention to what's been going on in the world over the last five years - you'll find that many people came out of college only to find themselves working at sub-par jobs that barely cover their living expenses. They're not paying their student loans because THEY CANT AFFORD TO! Not because they don't WANT to. Consider a student choosing a finance major in 2005. You probably already have them on your call list when they graduate in August 2009.

So, when you call with your bullying tactics, the best course for your target to take is to ignore you, because there is no reasoning with you. The worst case is that you target actually cows to you and gives up their personal and financial information, which clears the way for you to abuse that knowledge without regard for the human being that actually owns it.

THE EX-EMPLOYEE - MORE BS FROM A BOTTOMFEEDER

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 06, 2009

You collection agents are so smug - with "PAY YOUR BILLS" attitude justifying you breaking federal law. YOU CANNOT BREAK THE LAW!

AS THE POSTED INDICATED - SHE ALREADY PAID THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR
So any collection attempt is ILLEGAL - and YOUR VIOLATING FEDERAL LAW MAKES IT EVEN MORE ILLEGAL.

Pay your bills.

AUTHOR: Anonymous9 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 05, 2009

I am not surprised by all of the angry letters about GC Services. The unfortunate fact is that some people just don't like to pay their bills. They become angry when they are repeatedly called about the money that they owe. Don't they realize that the people who have a right to be angry are the people that they owe? Not them.

In this letter the "consumer" states that she had the debt taken care of, then later on in the letter she says that she "thought" she had it taken care of. Now we are getting a little closer to the truth. The truth being that she didn't have it taken care of. I worked for GC Services and I called many debtors who would complain to me that they didn't even know that their bill had been sent to a collection agency. Here's a thought, if you don't receive a bill from the lender of your loan for a month or so, you may want to call them. Some of these debtors would go 6 months without receiving a bill and not call to ask about it. Did they think they were being given a "bill vacation"? Funny, here in my world, that doesn't happen. Here where I live, I am responsible for keeping track of and paying all of my bills on time. And if I don't, there are consequences.

On top of everything else, she complains that the representatives are "lying" and saying that she used her old friends and their social security numbers on a loan. They are not lying. She did. That is where they got her friend's information. She used their names on the original student loan. Unfortunately, for those friends who agreed to be references. They probably expected that she would pay back the thousands that she borrowed. Evidently, she thinks that it should be a gift. Not as uncommon as you would think.

And just a word to the wise. I have seen many letters on here regarding GC Services. Some of them are from people who have been "threatened" with wage garnishment and they don't seem to think that it will really happen. I would like to tell them that I worked in the garnishment department and this is not a "threat". When you owe the United States government money, you better believe that they will make sure that they get it. They can garnish your wages, they can take your tax returns, they can even go as far as to revoke your professional license if you are a doctor or a lawyer. So if you are told that you will be garnished, my advice is to get into a payment arrangement as quickly as possible. The garnishment is considered a punishment and will not go towards the principal of your loan. Also, for those who complain that they only want paid through a direct payment out of your checking account . . . this is due to the fact that you have proven yourself untrustworthy. You have agreed to pay by mail once before and obviously did not follow through. So this time they need something a little more dependable.

For those of you who are angered by this letter, look at it this way. If your friend owed you $50,000, wouldn't you be doing everything you could to get it back? Pay the people you owe and you won't have to worry about the "harassing" calls of GC Services.
