Legal Helpers Of Kansas City, Missouri ripped off, hubby & I wanted a fresh start, legal helpers put us deeper in debt, after promising so much, paid them $750, asked for refund after no work was done on case, after 2 mo., no call, no letter. refunded us $100, KANSAS CITY Missouri

hubby and i had intial consult in mid aug. with ROBERT WILLETTE he told us it would cost us $750, to clear our debt of over $50.000, he told us not to worry about a thing, he told us to have our harrassing creditors to call a #, most of them refused, i called and asked if he would contact them, he said he would once all money was received, at the time i had a garnishment which was 25% of my check, my husband was out of work, we were seriously having financial problems, which was starting to put a burden on our lives, we decided to try legal helpers, a company i found while surfing the internet, we wanted to get it filed before the new bankruptcy law went into effect on oct. 17,2005, we were unable to meet the deadline that legal helpers had set, which was sept, 21,2005,we got our money in on oct. 17, 2005, however they say it was sometime in nov,2005, but i know when it was, i know because my hubby and i saw repeated commercials on t.v. by legal helpers stating that the public had till oct. 17th, to file under the old law, and we figured maybe we would have a chance. i called LH several times, I got the run a round, we set a time for another consult,on dec. 17th my hubby and i arrived 15 min early for our appt, we and another couple sat in the lobby, waiting, waiting, now its 45 min later, and someone finally shows up with mickey d's, and a cup of joe. he lets us in the office and we wait another 15 min till he gets situated, we are naturally upset, he tells us that ROBERT WILLETTE will not be in today. he tells us after loging on to the computer that he cant see anything going on with our case, the stacks and stacks of bills in our folder looked as if they had not been touched, the legal whatever this guy was, says he didnt see anything in the computer, that had been done, i requested a refund, i snatched my bills and we left, the guy didnt tell us that we had to write a letter requesting our money, he said it would probably be a good idea, i called the following business day and was told to file a request in writing, i had no idea that we were being charged everytime we called to inquire about the refund, i wanted to talk to ROBERT WILLETTE, but was always told he was out of the office, he never returned any of my calls, ever! i think he was upset about the letter i wrote, it only spoke the truth, that he had done nothing on our case. after one of the kind lawyers informed me that i was being charged even after my refund was requested, i stopped calling, i have been talked to pretty bad, i have been off of work due to a slipped disc, and the stress of bills, and creditors and LEGAL HELPERS. I HOPE MR WILLETTE CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING HE TOOK MONEY FOR NOT DOING ANY WORK, FROM A POOR STRIVING COUPLE, TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEAT, WE HAVE 7 CHILDREN, and all we wanted was a new start, to be able to provide for them, and send them to college, we will admit that we have made some bad choices in our lives, but we were trying to start over, so we can someday be debt free. we have not cashed the $100 check, we have more pride, its an insult, and somehow, someway we pray that GOD will lead us in the right direction on this matter, I came across this website by accident, maybe BAD BUSINESS BUREAU is the answer to our prayers. i have not contacted legal helpers anymore, not even when we got the check, we plan to seek legal help to get our money back.
