The dictionary defines "fraud" as "Wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain".

Some time back in 2003, we discovered this company. Northrop Scientific they called themselves at the time. We started looking into them.

We couldn't find anything. No corporate registration, no listing with the Chamber of Commerce, no phone book listing, no mention of the name in any Internet search engine other then their own propaganda and get rich schemes. The next thing we watch happen is they changed their name to "Selmedica Healthcare" and called themselves a industry leader of 50 years. They dressed up their website, charged a lot of money, and have basically ripping off consumers since according to the Better Business Bureau.

Let us introduce you to Selmedica Healthcare today in April of 2005.

Wouldn't you expect to find this industry leader(they claim)listed in the yellow pages? You can't. There is no listing.

Try it yourself. They claim to operate from Cordova, Tn. Zip 38088 Check Yahoo Yellow Pages (http://yp.yahoo.com/)yourself. Now try and find them in a different phone directory, "Big Yellow" (http://www.bigyellow.com/). These are both major yellowpages. This is your first clue something is fishy. No phone directory listing either place. Not in the white pages either. Not two years ago, not today.

FLASH!!! FLASH!!! 4/05/05

Selmedica has a new name again!!! If you go to http://www.erectol.com/ it will take to to their product page which says the product is from HealthyRightNow.com now instead of Selmedica. Consumers beware!

They claim to be a corporation. In order for corporations to do business in Tennessee where Selmedica Healthcare claims to be located, they must be listed with the State. Go to the Official State of Tennessee website (http://www.tennesseeanytime.org/soscorp/) and visit the Secretary Of State where you can look up "Selmedica Healthcare", this 50 year old industry leader. Selmedica is not listed. Isn't that strange.

While you are here, try other corporate names found in the "Whois" search on selmedica.com: "Perry M. Belcher Companies" - Not listed, "Selmedica, Inc." -- Not listed, "Key Products, Inc." -- Not listed. They also call themselves "AMI, inc." Look that one up too. - Again Not listed. Four business names and not a single one is registered to do business in Tennessee where they claim to be located. Interestingly enough, if you also look up those business names in the yellow pages, they don't exist either. Isn't that strange?

Selmedica Healthcare makes lots of claims. At this website (http://www.lithonal.com/), Selmedica Healthcare claims over 45,000 people have used their Kidney product at $74.95 each. That's $3,372,750.00 in sales. At this website (http://www.sumactin.com/), Selmedica Healthcare claims 65,000 people have used their poison ivy product at $39.95. That's $2,556,800 in Sales. This is only two of their many products. You would think with at least $5 million dollars in sales the profit would allow them to purchase phone numbers and a directory listing; wouldn't you?

Look at all the websites this non-existant company is using to target consumers:

and there are even more than that.

When I looked up "Selmedica Healthcare" with the Better Business Bureau, (BBB) (http://www.bbb.org) this only confirmed my suspicions. Follow the link above yourself. Click on "business" in the"Check it out" box on the top left to view BBB "Reliability Reports". This will open your eyes!

NOTE: At the bottom of the BBB Reliability Report on Selmedica it says that they are a corporation registered in Washington D.C. in March 2004. Call the Corporate Division of Washington, D.C. at (202) 442-4432 and you'll discover as I did, the corporation is not in good standing. Are you surprised? I'm not.

Shelby County is where Selmedica Healthcare claims to do business. Visit the website for the County Clerk (http://www.shelbycountytn.gov/FirstPortal/dotShowDoc/Government/ElectedOfficials/btd.htm) who issues business licenses. Call for yourself, (901) 545-4249 the business license division of Shelby County and ask them if they have a listing for "Selmedica Healthcare". You'll discover, as I did, there is no business license issued to this 50 year old industry leader. Isn't that strange.

If you call the Memphis Chamber of Commerce at (901) 543-3500 and ask them if they know "Selmedica Healthcare", the 50 year old industry leader, they will tell you they never heard of them. Isn't that strange.

Selmedica or whatever they are calling themselves today claims to be a 50 year old industry leader. You'd think you could find some information on the internet. That's not what Internet search engines say. There is no reference anywhere. Try Yahoo. Try Google. Try Overture Try Askjeeves Try MSN. NOTHING!

In fact, any search engine you try, will not find any reference to Selmedica Healthcare except for "Selmedica Healthcare's own propaganda and get rich schemes which seem to be bilking consumers out of a lot of money if the Better Business Bureau and ripoffreport.com information can be trusted. My experience is that these reports can be trusted.

So let me sum this all up. We have a company claiming their 50 years of experience have made "Selmedica Healthcare" into an industry leader and there is no supporting documentation on the internet to support that claim anywhere as you have discovered if you followed the links and took the suggested actions.

They claim to have hundreds of thousands of customers which would generate tons of tax revenue and yet the company is not listed with the State, County or City governments of Tennessee under business names they have listed themselves as on official documents.

A nationwide yellow pages search on "Selmedica Healthcare" or any of the other company names they claim finds nothing listed.

The Chamber of Commerce is unaware of them and the only feedback of the quality of this company is extremely derogatory at the Better Business Bureau.

When we first contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding "Selmedica Healthcare", there were over 40 complaints against this company who operates many, many websites under many, many different company names. Then there were over 60, now there are so many they don't even list them.

A recent update shows 59 unanswered complaints the BBB confronted "Selmedica Healthcare" with in January 2005 are still unresolved two months later in spite of personal guarantees of Perry M. Belcher he would take care of them himself according to the BBB information. One deception after another. The BBB record list tons of websites controlled by these people which the BBB is concerned with. You'll also find many company names these people use in their web of deception.

What concerns me most is if this company is willing to misrepresent so many things about themselves, how do we know their many products are not harming consumers? I get complaints from "Selmedica Healthcare" customers all the time.

If the information presented here has alerted you that "Selmedica Healthcare" is not what it claims to be, please call the BBB at 901-759-1300 and ask them for an update on the information on their website regarding "Selmedica Healthcare". Help stop this company from claiming anymore victims including yourself.

The FBI has an Internet fraud unit which can be found here (http://www.ifccfbi.gov/cf1.asp) . You can write your concerns about what you have discovered as a result of links on this page and help not only yourself, but many others who may get ripped off from these people.

If you follow the links and see the deception too, please file a report with ripoffreport.com and the BBB to help other consumers. Thank you for your help.

Never had a problem with this company

AUTHOR: Brancrump - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 13, 2008

My daughter had a problem for which I used one of Selmedica's products for, not once, but two seperate occasions. I have purchased the same product from them on both of these occasions and not only did the products work as advertised but I never had any billing issues with them. I used a credit card both times and no problems.

Selmedica Sumactin is a great product!

AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 25, 2008

After suffering with poison ivy/sumac for years, I purchased a bottle of Selmedica Sumactin online. I used a credit card and had absolutely NO problem with the billing process or receiving the product. As a matter of fact, it worked so well that friends "borrowed" my spray and didn't return it...no matter, I just ordered another bottle and received it in a timely manner as well. I have been searching the Internet for a site to again purchase this Selmedica product without luck..here's hoping I don't tangle with poison ivy/sumac this gardening season.

So far, so good

AUTHOR: Mmgazer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

One of the comments filed recently was from "Hollywood," which said in part:

"Personal Test In Progress!

Greetings! I have long been a fan and advocate of the Rip Off Report - this along with Snopes and other active consumer services have provided me with great decision making information over time...

Now I find that I might be able to contribute in some small way to an issue with this company.

I have recently been struck with a condition that requires aid - and have been fairly thorough in my discovery of what may be available to me for remedy. (etc., etc.)"

I am in exactly the same situation and of the same attitude as the writer of this post. I bought one of their products. (I will be more forthcoming though. It's a treatment for (ugh) toe nail fungus.) The product arrived promptly and as advertised. I have used this product since approximately July 2007 (this post is dated Nov. 27, 2007) and have been very pleased with the results to date. As the above post stated, I probably would not have purchased the product had I read the reviews above beforehand. But so far I am glad I did buy it.

Based on my experience so far, I am totally satisfied.

Mad Consumer, or Mad Competitor?

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 08, 2007

I was doing some looking on Selmedica and couldn't help but notice that this "mad consumer's" post is almost identical to an online post made by a competitor trying to discredit this company.

You compare: licerx.com/selmedica-healthcare.htm

If this is the case, Selmedica should sue THESE GUYS.

It seems the primary point of this report is "Selmedica doesn't have a phone number in the phone book". So what? I have an Internet company too, with 100% of my business coming online and I don't have a phone number in the book either. Does that mean I have an illigitimate business? Absolutely not.

Readers . . . BEWARE.

Affiliate Program Ripoff

AUTHOR: Wayne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 11, 2007

I am the owner of a health website and I have always been a great fan of the products from Selmedica.

I have been a member of their Affiliate Program for over three years. I have dealt with Selmedica's delays in paying their affiliates or changing bank accounts and having the checks bounce or the checks being sent & someone forgetting to sign the check.

Every time I have sent emails it takes 3-5 emails to get a response. Their phone number (901)-753-7588 never gets answered and the phone mail box is always full.

As of today April 11, 2007 I have not been paid my monthly sales check, by Selmedica, for three months (Jan-Feb-Mar). Selmedica has not responded to over 10 emails in the past month and as of today their phone is not in service.

I can only assume at this point that they have moved on with other people's money.

At this time I am removing ALL Selmedica links from my website and warning other affiliates to stop promoting this company. Oh yes, I did check the rap sheet on Selmedica with the BBB.org and they DO have a history of complaints and bad business practices.

AT LEAST ONE PRODUCT REALLY WORK(ED)S

AUTHOR: Milt - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 31, 2007

As a years-long kidney stone sufferer, I read about all the would-be solutions to this problem on the internet and assumed they are all snake-oil of the worst kind. By this time I am thoroughly familiar with the precise symptoms, and after a third severe attack in as many years, I did not want to go again to the hospital emergency room and get all the Demerol and other pain shots, catscans, and prescription pain killers. So, in desperation I ran across a product from this company called 'Lithonal' and all the purported testimonials shown. I ordered it with overnight shipping. (I neither have, nor have had any direct or indirect connection with this company, its products or anything else to do with it).

I found the testimonials on their old website to be extraordinarily accurate, from whatever the source. Taken as suggested, the severity of the kidney pain was dramatically reduced within about two to three hours after taking the first two capsules. In less than four days, the stone was apparently cleared and the pain entirely gone. This compared with at least THREE WEEKS without Lithonal. In all the months since, if I experience any of the early-warning signs of an oncoming stone, I immediately take one Lithonal capsule and the problem seems to disappear before becoming serious. My urologist looked at the bottle, and said he had no information about it, and that the elimination of the stone in less than four days could have been a coincidence. Perhaps so, but my experience was so similar to those reported on their old website that I don't think so.

Since they no longer manufacture it(they've told me on the phone that the resistance from the medical community was so severe that they could not generate enough volume to continue it, despite all the good reports), and suggested I try a similar product from a competitor, URIFLOW from Bioneutrix. I've ordered that and will try it next kindney stone occurrence.

I have no idea who this outfit is, or was, but can only tell what experience I had with one of its products. Lithonal genuinely worked or works.

Personal Test In Progress!

AUTHOR: Prefer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 31, 2007

There is a product produced or represented by selmedica that I have just purchased (mind you, I HAD NOT read this or any negative feedback prior to my purchase).

As this company does seem concerned with the public effect of commentary - they now have a perfect opportunity to shine - or not.

Although I relize that my concern will only be with one product, and one order - never the less, I will provide a report of my experience with this company for those who may next want to utilize their products or services...

At this moment - I have NO idea what to expect. It would seem that this company has experienced issues. Were I to have read this in advance of my purchase, I can say that I would not have made one. However, I did... and my experience will be shared.

Today is January 31, 2007 - my order was placed moments ago. I will update as new information comes available.

Thanks.

#2 UPDATE Employee

Selmedica Healthcare is as existent as they come

AUTHOR: Alex - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Hi, I'm Alex Caudill, an employee of Selmedica Healthcare, and I find the claims on this page to be woefully outdated as well as patently untrue.

It is true that over the course of 2004-2005 we experienced a period of massive sales volume and had a difficult time satisfactorily servicing our customers, but I can assure you that those days are long past. We employ first-class customer service representatives at two call centers in the United States, not overseas, which is more than most companies can say.

We've resolved every complaint lodged against us with the Better Business Bureau to the best of our ability, as evidenced here:

search.bbb.org/Results.aspx?n=Selmedica+Healthcare&add=&c=&st=&z=

We've made our sales letters compliant with the recommendations of the NAD and all applicable federal laws.

I'd also like to point out that the post I'm responding to is made under false pretenses - this was written by Mark Cook, the owner of LiceRX.com, not an "angry customer". Selmedica Healthcare owns LiceX.com, and apparently Mr. Cook can't handle a bit of competition. See for yourself:

licerx.com/selmedica-healthcare.htm

On the topic of contact information - guess which of these two sites doesn't have a phone number listed on the front page?

The bottom line is, the employees of Selmedica Healthcare is not above admitting our mistakes, correcting them, and moving on. Our goal is for every last one of our customers to be happy. Customer service is our absolute top priority and easily the best investment we can make to ensure the future of our company.

Every single one of our products (yes, all the websites mentioned in the original post plus MANY more) has the same 100% unconditional one-year money-back guarantee, and we stand by it.

It is sad that people are taking advantage of others whom are medically relying on them.
