Safeguard makes a thiefs living off the hard work of the American people stealing money both from the banks and the vendors. They charge the banks for work that is billed to the banks but not paid to the people who do the work. Safeguard cheats the vendors time and time again out of pay for work performed at an agreed upon price and then when the work is completed Safeguard will charge the banks full price but illegally undercut the pay from the vendor with their vendor ajustments team. Safeguard is a net 30 company meaning the vendor recieves a work order , performes the work , turns in photo evidence of the work and is by thoery supposed to recieve a check paying for the work performedwithin 30 days. That means the vendors , often mom and pop companies have to come out of their pockets to cover at least a months worth of work and expences only to be told that they did something wrong and the work order was mysteriously re opened (lack of pictures) is their usual excuse no matter how many pics you take. Safeguard will send a work order in the middle of the work day with a due date of a week ago and even if you jump through hoops to get it done the day recieved will hold the vendor liable for the work being late. Chargebacks with absolutly no proof of any wrong doing is a common occurance. Threats of chargebacks whenever you so rudely point out a mistake on their part. Taking your work load and giving it out to their "good vendors" all while trying to convince you (the vendor) that your work wasnt being turned in on time. Vendor web issues with the vendor having no control , can and will be used as a reason for the vendor to not get paid for work performed to all industry standards . Paychecks are more times then not , short more times then not by thousands. I have more then enough evidence e-mails with times and dates , names , screenshot pics of vendor web being down etc, to back anything i ever said about these crooks. They will say that im an angry ex vendor but that would not be the case just yet. Vendors , trying to talk to safeguard "management" it will only fall on deaf ears and met with threats and lies. Talk to the banks that safeguard does work for and let them know what their doing. . Keep America honest and mabe we can all get back to work

I actually wrote my own rip-off report separately, but I just have to respond to this one too. The comments from people who "have no problems" with Safeguard are lying. Everyone in town knows that Safeguard is a crook. Some of us had no choice but to put up with them during the Great Recession. However, times being what they are, the situation is reversed. No one should ever consider entering into a contract with Safeguard UNLESS you have a lawyer and a plan to profit from the inevitable fraud.
Can you believe they contacted us about 9 months ago, wanting to know if we'd like to "sign up" as a vendor for them? We said yeah, OK, and sent them our terms. The first term was for them to pay us the money they owed, plus interest. Because we are sly, they only got us for about $1,100, but that's $1,100 too much. They tried to get us for $15,000. The second term was that they have to pay for the services up front. We would put up a bond to make it fair. The third term was our pricing agreement. Needless to say, they did not respond. We are much better off without them.

I AM A VENDOR AND NEVER BEEN F* I KNOW MANY VENDORS WHO LOSE MONEY ALL THE TIME WHY BECAUSE THEY HALF a*s THE WORK IVE BEEN IN BUSINESS OVER 10 YEARS 5 DOING FORECLOSERS IN 5 YEARS IVELOST 23000 DOLLARS WHY MY EMPLOYEES FAULT NOT DOING WORK RIGHT.. PPLE WHO WORK FOR SAFEGUARD ARE NOT THE CROOKS ON A AVERAGE THERE COULD BE 10 DIFFRENT COMPANYS IN THAT FORECLOSED PROPERTY AT ANY GIVEN WEEK ..YES IVE SEEN S* BE STOLEN YES IVE SEEN VENDORS STEAL PPLES STUFF BUT THE NIEGHBORS ARE THE BIGGEST CROOKS OF THEM ALL .... IVE FOUND CARS MOTORCYCLES GOLD MONEY IN HOUSES ..I LEAVE IT YOUR GARBAGE IS NO VALUE TO ME.. IM NOT GOING TO JAIL FOR STEALING SOMEONES ELSE GARBAGE .... I also WAS a safeguard vendor and had the same experience even though safeguard and its employees try to tell everyone that "it must be an isolated incident" and we , the vendors , are substandard. After over six years of jumping through hoops and having to fight every day to get our pay we finally HAD ENOUGH! We finally refused to accept any work orders from Safeguard and had to argue for months to get what pay we could. Safeguard still owes us over two thousand dollars for work that was completed and NEVER paid for even though im sure they never had a problem charging the customer. I second the motion , if you are considering doing anything with or for these THIEFS , dont!!!! Run away as quickly as possible and save yourself a lot of time and money! Good luck

Why is it that whenever someone replies to one of our statements they say they have worked for Safeguard for "over five years"? With no problems? Why are there HUNDREDS of complaints and active law suits against Safeguard at all times? You like to say that the vendors are substandard and that it must be an isolated incident but you are wrong! We work for several OTHER national companies and have NO COMPLAINTS from them , now how is this possible? Why is it that our communication attempts between us and Safeguard are all on record both phone records , and e-mails that were very seldomly replied to by our area managers , as well as screen shots of the vendor web constantly DOWN meaning NOT OPERATIONAL! Words like "premier" vendors are just like the condesending style used by Safeguard and its employees on a regular basis to attempt to speak to vendors in a more then less proffesional manner. Vendors BEWARE and anyone considering doing buisness with this company can and should read what others are saying , not just me. Make an educated decision , there are a lot of other choices. I have left this company for good and havent been happier in over six years. Good luck

Safeguard Properties Got Me For Over $100,000

I worked as a vendor for this company for 6 years, completed over 1,000 repair orders and was quite happy for 4 of those 6 years. Then the person who founded the company, Robert Kline, stepped down and named his son-in-law as the new CEO and that was when the problems started.
Safeguard used to pay my invoices within a week or less, which was great. But when the son-in-law took over, it changed to "net whenever I decide to pay you". When they made this change, they didn't tell any vendors or even any repair analysts. I made it past that debacle.
From that point on, though, I noticed changes in the attitudes of the Safeguard employees, which was caused by them being put under tons of pressure to maximize profits by any means necessary. Repair analysts who were quite pleasant to work with up to that point, began lying and started committing acts I can only describe as fraudulent, such as changing the wording and dates on status reports I submitted, adding extra repair line items to orders that were previously not there along with other behavior that was "less than professional". I have a couple friends who work at Safeguard so I observed how this company operates from both the inside and the outside.
To the 2 people who are still hypnotized from drinking the Safeguard Koolaid, I'd like to say: You might want to put away some of that money you are making right now because when they "get you", you will most likely not even see it coming.

We have been working with Safeguard for over five years. No other company has such a diverse field of work to grow into. They always promote their premier contractors into new divisions and expand their territory as they grow. Great company to work for.

I have been a Safeguard vendor for over 5 years and am shocked to see a posting like this. Safeguard has never cheated or lied to me as an REO or P&P vendor. I have always been paid for the work that I complete as long as both Safeguard and the client expectations have been met.
Safeguard does hold vendors accountable for the work that is performed and uses field quality control inspectors to both train and inspect the work you have completed. If you are a contractor that charges reasonable fees for your services, completes your work on a 72 hour turn around and is able to communicate you should not have any problems with Safeguard!
