Las Vegas, NevadaI was moved from LAS to Miami and got binding estimates. I chose Allied van Lines via their agent, Diversified moving & storage from Mission Hills CA. Diversified packed and loaded me. Allied transported me and in Ft Lauderdale the Allied agent, Astro Moving & Storage stored my items and delivered them to my home. The attached describes many of the errors
However, the most glaring rip off came after the attached was written. Allied lost many of the inventory sheets for my load and claims no one has copies. I filed a claim for $100,000. Allied refused to respond to the claim for over a year, which violates federal law. Then Allied simply replied that they refused to pay anything on the claim. No explanation given. My insurance company, USAA, paid me $40k in loss and contacted Allied and Astro for repayment. Allied and Astro refused to negotiate. USAA is filing in in court to sue.
I need an attorney willing to work on contingency to go after my $60k in losses and what should be substantial punitive damages. Although the $19k move was paid for by check to Allied corporate, and the move was on Allied contract paper, and Allied accepted payment for a $100k full replacement value insurance policy - Allied now claims it has no responsibility for my items or the actions of its own agents, Diversified and Astro Moving & Storage.
The recent bust in Florida lists 'Allied Moving and Storage, Ft. Lauderdale, FL' as one of the busted companies. Is this the Allied agent 'Astro Moving & Storage'?
How can Allied refuse to explain why its takes money for insuranace and then denies a claim after one year with no action?
How can Allied claim it is not responsible for the actions of its agents, chosen by Allied, adn paid by Allied after Allied accepted the payment for the move and insured the move?
