Aurora, ColoradoBusiness Max membership canceled in March 2008. They did not charge me in April, but every subsequent month, the same amount was taken out of my account-under a different business name.
I could not identify who it was that was charging me, so I went to the bank to see if they could identify a number or location. The bank manager said that the business max company, who ever they were, had changed their name 3 times on my statements, but it was definitely the same 'mother' company making the charges on my credit card.
When I called Business Max, they told me that my account was closed in March, and that NO OTHER CHARGES HAD BEEN MADE, the sales rep ASSURED me that it was some other business making the charges, he urgently promised me that he had no idea where the charges were coming from, he had no idea what AP9 meant.
After hours of research on the web, and 4 more phone calls to Business Max-demanding to speak with supervisors, an employee finally told me that they were not the same, but if I had a complaint with any of them--I would be directed to her......
I continued calling & making angry accusations, each person I spoke to couldn't explain what exactly I was being charged for, or where my credit card authorization had come from, but, told me I had clicked on a promo ad magically prompting my membership.
Each Salesperson I spoke with would only refund one month's fees at a time, noting all their terms and conditions---to none of which had I given my consent.
After repeated phone calls, usually one right after I hung up from the last one, and dealing with a multitude of attitudes from their employees, BusinessMax/DiscountShoppingClub/ShoppingEssentials/Restaurant.com Group has refunded 3/4 of their unauthorized charges to my account.
They have given me a guarantee that they will take no more money from me.....the same guarantee Business Max gave me in March....
