Houston, TexasI thought it was odd that they wanted a card # for a free credit report and I was especially careful after that to make sure that I was not signing up for some extra cost items. At some point I received an assurance that my card would not be charged.
Two monthly debits of $14.95 were taken from my account before I noticed it and called the company. A woman with a heavy accent answered and I told her I wanted a refund and didn't want any more money deducted from my account.
She informed me that I had signed up for credit monitoring and was not going to get a refund in accordance with their terms of service since I had not canceled in the first seven days. With her heavy accent I don't know if I even got the deductions stopped..
The whole conversation turned into a shouting match and she hung up on me after informing me that the company had not had any complaints in ten years.

Yet, if people would take maybe two seconds to read the disclaimer on their homepage, these problems would not occur
