My only source of water is from my well, and I couldn't get water, so filed a claim with NationWide Home Warranty on 7/15/08. At first someone in claims told me authorization had been given to my well/pump man to replace the pump, which is over 160 feet in the ground. He had made a diagnosis and said the pump was dead. When he didn't call to make an appointment I contacted him and he said he had not received a FAX authorization him to do the work. I was told the claims supervisor wanted to talk to me and ask some questions, but she never called, so I called her. She wanted 'maintenance records' on the well pump. The pump requires no maintenance. It is maintenance, free like a lightbulb. When it quits running it needs to be replaced. I explained this to the claims supervisor and also advised her I had livestock who were dehydrating and crying for water. I live in the high desert where temps go over 104 deg. I am a senior citizen and heat really affects me. I couldn't use my evaporated cooler either because it requires water to work. The claim supervisor still refused to honor my contract and wouldn't listen to any of my explanations. This is not only illegal, it inflects pain and suffering on my wife, myself, and innocent animals. It is cruelty at its worst. I have never run into a home warranty program this bad. I've seen some poor ones, but this one is the very worst.
They do not intend to honor the policy. Stay away from this company
