Spring, TexasWhen I went to the mailbox today I received a letter addressed to me ,no return address with a foreign (air mail) stamp. A check for $4,500 fell out. Made payable to me on a check from Chase bank. All looked legit. The letter that accompanied the check claimed that I was the winner of a one time drawing of the national/state lottery/ that I may have entered in the last seven years. I didn't remember trying to win any money, I am not much of a gambler, so I immediately figured there was something wrong with this offer. It then goes on to explain how I should cash the check and send my claims agent, John Brown, a money gram or western union for the amount of $3700 which is a clearance fee which is need to enable him to process and clear my file for payment. Oh yes, did I mention, I won $400,000.00. I got on my computer and did some research. I found other people like me had also recieved letters similar to mine and had reported it as a scam. What is bad is that someone will get cught up in this scam because they don't know any better or don't have any way to check this offer out. These people need to be STOPPED!!!! Who do they think they are? Where do they get my name and address? It really pisses me off that there are people out there able to get away with this crap!
