Noblesville, IndianaI purchased enough points for a 1 bedroom condominium several years ago. Initally, I was pleased with the accommodations at the Bluegreen resorts. At the time of sale, I was assured that no matter what, the points I was purchasing would always be enough for a 1 bedroom condo at peak season. I asked about new resorts being brought on. I was told (promised) that the new resorts would not require any more points...and if they did, I would be 'gifted' the additional points necessary for the reservation.
At the time of my purchase, there were red, blue and white seasons. Since my purchase 'high red' and 'leaf seasons' have been added. Guess what...they require more points then what I purchased. Also, the new resorts that were originally discussed are also more expensive with regard to point value.
I have spoken to many Bluegreen representatives including the original sales person and supervisor all the way up to the Corporate Office. None of them are able/willing to help. It's funny that I still get sales calls from Bluegreen. Initially when I say I have a concern, they are overly friendly in really wanting to hear my issue. When I explain it to them, they say they'll discuss it with their supervisor and get back with me. I have yet to EVER get a return phone call.
My parents are in the same boat. They bought points for a 2 bedroom with the same empty promises and now are running into the same problems.
Bottom Line: Insist (if you're crazy enough to buy) that every promise made be put in writing on your contract and then be ready to take legal action to get them to stand behind their empty promises.
Very deceptive company. Buyer beware!!
