Where do I start?
First of all, I have to say that I should have listened to my parents. They told me not to even go to the interview, but being the teenager I am, I just had to prove them wrong.

I went into my first interview in what I thought was a business professional outfit. I walked into a room with loud music, and a bunch of middle aged men wearing nice business suits. I felt way out of my league. Im only 18, and I've never been to an interview for a company like this before. A young guy called me into his office, and asked me a few questions, and 5 minutes later, I walked out. About 4 hours later, they called me asking me to come in for a second interview. They told me they interviewed about 300 people a week and only hired one, which I later found out was a lie. But anyway, I was so excited that I had been chosen out of a group of older men in nice suits.

I went in, and they introduced me to the people who were already part of the office (12 men and 1 women). They went through their morning routine of getting people all excited and pumped for the day, then paired me up with one of the top reps in the country. We walked out to his car, and he asked typical questions about my resume. I had alot of fun with him, and he made the job seem so easy. However, I couldn't help but think that walking into unsuspecting business and bullying them into showing us their personal information was wrong, and downright annoying. Both my parents own their own buinesses, and they always talk about how much they hate people who do that. But I overlooked it, because people in the office said how great the money was gonna be, and how soon I could make it. When we got back, I was immediately offered a job, which I gladly took.

The three days of training were pretty fun, but I was a little down about the fact that I worked 9 hours a day, and only made $200 for all three days. So when I got out on my own, my first day was the worst day of my life. On my interview, they said I would never have to drive more than half an hour to my territory. It ended up that I drove almost an hour, just to get to a territory with only 15 business, and for those of you who dont know, thats terrible. When I got back to the office, my manager yelled at me, saying it was my fault I didn't make a sale, and I shouldn't blame my territory.


The next day I got a new territory, and started doing really well. I got promoted in less than a week.
On the weekends, everyone from the office would hang out at the managers apartment. Thats how my manager started his 'relationship' with a girl who started working the same day I did. After only a few days, they started dating. I hated it, and the slightly unfair treatment, but what was I gonna do. I quit my other job for this so called 'great oppourtinity' job, and I wasn't about to lose it cause I couldn't keep my mouth shut about who was having sex with who.

After 2 weeks of working there, I was offered a chance to go to Connecticut on a business trip. That office needed help training and interviewing people. It seemed like fun, so I went. Little did I know, I was only gonna interview one person. Appointments I scheduled where given to someone else, the manager made me cry everyday, and they told me I couldn't do this job because I was too young. I really wanted to question the ethics of this hellhole office, but another guy from my office spoke up first, and they treated him like shit for it.
After getting home, I talked about it with my manager, and he told me to just stop thinking about it, and think about the good things that happened. Nothing came to mind.

After a few more weeks, I just couldn't take it anymore. I was sick of driving an hour everyday. I was sick of getting the wrong directions from my manager, and getting blamed it. I was sick of taking out interviews and having to pretend I loved my job, because it was crucial to put on a mask in front of them to trick them into wanting to work. I was sick of being told to be as vague as possible on interviews so people didn't know how terrible the job really is. I didn't want to trick people into thinking it wasn't a commission job, like I had been tricked. They were all smooth talkers who made you think something that wasn't true to trap you in.
I wanted to leave so bad, but I had made friends with my leader, and I didn't want to leave, because he would have to wait even longer to reach assistant manager.

Eventually, I got up the courage to tell them I was leaving. I think the only reason I was able to do it was because I turned into someone I didn't want to be. I started being so mean to my family, my fiance, and pretty much everyone who talked to me outside of work. I worked 12-13 hours a day, while trying to finish my first year of college. Also, they told me not to go back to college. And I HAD to go back. I love school, and I wasn't about to drop out because of this piece of crap job. I knew they were gonna talk shit about me, like they did about everyone that quit, but I didn't care anymore. I put my binder on the table and left.

SO. for the people on here that are trying to defend the company, this is my story. You can't argue with facts from my experiences.

A few side notes:
-Telling a trainee to ignore NO SOLICITING signs like my trainer did is wrong.
-They tell people they don't have to be good at sales to do this job, but in my office, you can't take out an interview or trainee unless you got a sale the day before. How are you supposed to build your team if you aren't good at sales.
-Managers should not be having sexual relations with their employees. THATS WRONG AND UNFAIR.
-Not giving a small business owner all the information, as promoted by the one-bullet system, is wrong.
-Looking down on people who make mistakes, or need a little additional help is not a good way to run an office.
-Scare tactics don't work. They make people not want to come to work the next day.

Ok. Thats all I can think of for now. I'm just so grateful I got out in time to get back into school this year.
