brackenridge, PennsylvaniaI have used aes student loan company for a college loan. The amount was for $1,800.00. I took this loan out in the year 2005. I fell through some hard times and could not afford to pay my bills. I have made payments every other month that were always double what was due. Somehow none of that money was credited to my account.
Finally after 3 years of this bullsh*t I got a lump sum of money from income tax return. I paid this item off IN FULL ! 30 days after I paid this account in full I received another bill in the mail for another $50.00 due ! I was like 'WHAT!?'. So, I paid that $50. Well guess what, the next month I received ANOTHER $50.00 bill !! Now I am furious.
I called the number and after several hours (no bull) of being transferred to 20 different people. I spoke to a manager who was very rude and short with me. He told me, ' you should know to pay an account off in full you have to call in and tell a representative that's what you are doing or you will still have to pay your minimun each month in interest.' 'what!?' I said. So after a few arguments I finally got this account paid in full.
6 months later I called into the company and asked them to delete this from my credit report since I paid it off in full. The manager told me 'no, because we have no benefit from deleting this from your credit report. The only person who benefits from this is you so you can improve your score and our company isn't out there to help people's credit, we are to provide loans.' I snapped. I cannot believe this ignorant a**hole is going to get this cocky with me. I was then told, 'yeah, to send a letter into the 3 major bureaus and have the account deleted would mean we would have to go above and beyond to satisfy you, and since you dont have a current account then too bad for you.' like an immature idiot. DO NOT get a loan through these people for 2 MAJOR reasons: 1. Absolutely NO GOOD customer satisfaction 2. Never ending debt ! seriously !
If you are skeptical, call yourself and tell them you paid off an account and would like it deleted off your report. see how they treat you...
