Las Vegas, NevadaMr. Brin contacted us from the number printed on our luxury magazine advertisement. Mr. David Brin of Western Publishing Associated was contracted on September 29, 2007 in order to provide 3 mailings of 10,000 each over the next 3 consecutive months. The first mailing was to be post marked no later than October 4th in order to be received by addressees for a October 14 Catered Open House. The total cost was to be $6,000.00, which was the best offer I could find for design, print, and mailing services.
Mr. Brin failed to meet our deadline, even though he stated the whole time that they were sent. No one received any postcards, and the open house was a complete loss. Mr. Brin reduced his cost to $4,800.00, full payment due immediately with the assurance that an additional mailing would go out immediately. The mailing did not go out immediately.
After constant phone calls by us to Mr. Brin and countless false promises by Mr. Brin, the first mailing did not go out until the end of November. Mr. Brin would not return any phone calls and showed no intention of fulfilling any additional terms of the contract. I took Mr. Brin to small claims court and was awarded $2,800 in damages.
At this time Mr. Brin will not return any phone calls and I am unable to find any way to have the money collected. In conclusion, I ended up paying $4,800 for mailers that went out approx. 2 months later. My biggest mistake was not checking The Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.com) for a report on Western Publishing Associated.
