so being a single mother im in a constant struggle with money. I took a direct deposit advance which is paid back directly from your next direct deposit. I was at my maximum so I asked my kids dad for help. he sent me money through paypal and I transfered it to my bank for food for the week. When I checked my account this morning they took that money as if it were a direct deposit and they refuse to reverse it so im stuck again with no money for the week. just note on my account it says paypal transfer, not direct deposit advance. I begged and pleaded but they will not reverse it. so for the week my kids will go hungry. im so angry. I will be switching banks as soon as i get paid.

Does that also mean you'll be going hungry? Post your name and address and I'll see if they can help you.

The fact is that you had absolutly no problem taking the Direct Deposit Advance...you only have a problem when it comes time to pay it back according to the terms you previously agreed to.
That is right I can bet that the terms stated ANY direct deposit(perhaps even any deposit) into your account would be applied to the advance until the advance was paid off. So the only thing that his happening is that you are paying back money you borrowed from them quicker than you wanted to. With the plus side of this being is that now your DD advance will be paid off sooner than it would have. Inconvienient for you in the short run..okay but NOT a RipOff.
While this should go without saying but if you switch banks that does not obsolve you from paying back the remaining portion of the advance. In fact they will not let you close the account until it is paid off. Oh and when you go to your next bank realize that many don't even provide that service, and the ones that do would have done exactly the same thing.
By the way if you are so strapped for cash..just how are you posting this report? Oh and by the way what is on TV tonight? Did you text your friend wondering what they are doing this weekend? Do you get the hint????

I went out on the internet to look for any kind of a fact sheet about this service about the direct deposit advance from Wells Fargo bank, and this is what I found.
Here is a direct quote from you regarding the advance you got.
"I took a direct deposit advance which is paid back directly from your next direct deposit.". You are angry because your kid's father sent you money via paypal, and transfered money to your account, and they took that as a direct deposit, leaving you broke.
Well, please read the section of this paper called Included as a Qualified Deposit
It states the following.
Other Benefit related Income
Tax Refunds
Cash on Demand transfers
Electronic transfers from accounts at other financial institutions.
It also says Deposits made through transfers between Wells Fargo Accounts, and at a Wells Fargo Branch, or at an ATM are excluded.
A paypal account qualifies as an account from other financial institutions, so they were justified in taking the money. You would have been better off having him give you cash, and then going in and depositing it directly at the Wells Fargo Branch, or at any of the Wells Fargo ATM machines.
BTW Wells Fargo Bank is ending this service on May 24th, 2014.
So changing banks wont do you any good, Wells Fargo was just following the rules, and I am sure they gave you all the rules before you signed, you just forgot to read them all.
