I have a home that is presently so UNDERWATER it's ridiculous, my balance is 189K, past due 55K so that makes it supposedly 244K well my house is assessed at 144K by the town it was assessed at over 200 in 2006, i tried modification and was offered no principal reduction, they would have me pay 1075 per month and put the past due payments on kind of a hold which i think is a new thing now, the problem i had was they started out at 2% interest but it was adjustable going up to 8% in 5-6 yrs...i had a fixed rate to begin with so how can they rightfully offer me an adjustable rate when people are getting 2% fixed all over the place?

On friday evening last week at 8:40pm my son's friend was at my house watching his dog and a man dressed nicely knocks on the door asking for me and says i have to sign some papers for the house, refuses to say where he is from or what they are for and asks this "visitor" to sign for the papers...what the hell is that about?

Wells Fargo does not even own my loan, they emailed me 2 yrs ago and told me they have no authority to modify my loan i am glad i saved the email. I asked who is the company i should talk to and was told CitiGroup who i never even knew anything about. I was showing up on the MERS website but now it says "inactive". I was told that all these mortgages were paid off by govt bailouts and now that these banks were paid once for the mortgages they also want each mortgage holder to pay again.

is it possible these mortgages have been paid off? and if the govt paid the banks on these delinquent mtgs than how is it that they can try to collect again on them?

Thanks so much for the info i have filed a complaint with the attorney general before about 2 yrs ago and WF sent them a bunch of papers saying why i was denied a modification when i had not even applied for one yet. Now since the "settlement" even people not covered during that year or so are supposed to get the non monetary items agreed upon was my understanding, true modification, principal reduction, equity relief
