My name is Charise and I was a proud homeowner 5 years ago, when I was approved for my home loan. Now, after dealing with Wells Fargo I feel as if I was taken advantage of. It started with finding out that Wells Fargo provided me a Home Inspections with people they hired for me and I paid for, stating that my home was in good condition. But 6 months later after signing off on it, the ceiling started leaking and gotten worst. Then in June 2010 I found myself in foreclosure proceedings after losing my JOB, and was told to apply for a modification at that time. After doing so I never got a response back in regards, so I started making payment arrangements myself to bring both loans current in December of 2010. At that time payment arrangements were setup and as I stated by January 2011 I brought one loan current with payment arrangements to bring other loan current. But in Jan. 2011 I received a call from Wells Fargo mentioning the modification and I at that time told them that I have already taken things in my own hands and is in the process of bringing loans current as shown already. Three days after the call I received a statement from Wells Fargo stating that my home was in foreclosure. So when I called the company to question the letter, I was told that I needed to cancel all payments arrangements and that they will no longer be able to accept any payments while in foreclosure. I was upset! So, while trying to understand what had just taken place applied for assistance with NACA home save program. But the problem is; I now owe more money now then before. NACA recently requested a forbearance and while waiting 4 months I finally was approved by Wells Fargo.
The proposal stated that I have 3 months to get decrease expenses or increase income. No action as far as payments needed. Now, that was given to me on 4/25/2011 but, than I received a statement for payment to be made on 4/29/2011 by Wells Fargo on 4/30/2011. After notifying NACA I was sent another letter stating that my payment is more then the original agreement that they wanted me to agree upon on 4/25/2011. NACA stated that they don't know what Wells Fargo Mortgage is trying to do, but they are not looking at their own proposal that was sent. They are informing me that if I don't make that payment mentioned that I will go back into foreclosure. Wells Fargo is a complete rip-off and I wish it was more the people could do to get some of our money back ! Now, when I thought everything was going okay, Wells Fargo knows how to ruin your day!

So my experience is very similar to yours but in the end i got my modification. I suffered a job loss and was going down all the same paths as you and did also hook up with NACA at one of their events. I think while they helped organize the event the MOST beneficial thing they offered is a face to face meeting with the lender. I was told "i make too much and have too much in the bank" at this i got irrate. I told them i do NOT want to end up in foreclosure again and even the NACA counselor was not of much help. The best part was the rep from Wells stated since was private investor he would present this physically to them and I would hear something soon. I had all but given up hope but to my surprise and 2-3 months later I came home to a Fed Ex package from Wells (yes my heart stopped) and image my surprise it was a executed modification agreement.
So the morale of my story you ask? If NACA has an "event" that you can attend in person GO THERE be persistent and be patient as you can. I am convinced thats what helped me for Wells to put a face with a name and an ability to present and plead your case. The in person event is a VERY long day, I was there around 12-13 hoursbut it worked for me. It wasnt an easy road to get to that point but I did get there and so will you. Good Luck!
