Ripoff Report REVIEW / LearningRx Commitment to Program Integrity and Customer Satisfaction

LearningRx joins Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program -- a long name for a program that does a lot for both consumers and business alike.

Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program -- a program that benefits the consumer, which helps to increase consumer satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business Verified By Ripoff Report.

When a company or individual joins the Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Program, they must make a commitment to us – in writing – to ‘fix errors and resolve issues and make sure clients are properly taken care of and make things right.' What does that mean? It means that Ripoff Report expects that members of our Corporate Advocacy Program will review and respond to ALL customer complaints promptly. It means that every complaint will be taken seriously and every customer will be treated fairly and with respect. It means if a customer did not receive what they expected, the company will work with that customer to fix the issue. It means that if a customer requests a refund and if there is any reasonable basis for that request, we expect the customer will be given a prompt refund (some refund requests may not be reasonable, so this does not mean a refund is guaranteed in every case). “Making things right” can mean lots of different things to different people, but our point is this - by working closely with the company or individual to resolve any disputes, Ripoff Report can track the footprints of customer service to ensure that our Corporate Advocacy Program members are doing everything they can to treat customers fairly and to increase their customer satisfaction.

ALL COMPANIES GET COMPLAINTS, BUT HOW THOSE COMPLAINTS ARE HANDLED SEPARATES THE GOOD BUSINESSES FROM THE REST.

By Ed Magedson - Founder, Ripoff Report

LearningRx approached Ripoff Report with the intent of wanting to resolve any customer issues and reports posted on Ripoff Report.

As a Part of the Corporate Advocacy Program the member business allows Ripoff Report to send an email to all of those who filed a complaint in the past, letting the customer know, the member business wanted to make things right with them, and work with them to resolve issues. Ripoff Report always monitors these emails to insure the member business does what they agreed to. The people at LearningRx did just that.

LearningRx has gone to great lengths to resolve any and all customer issues. LearningRx has joined the Corporate Advocacy Program because they want clients and their families to know they are strongly committed to customer satisfaction at every level. According to LearningRx, “Integrity is the guiding principle in all that we do, from the research behind our programs, to the documentation of our life-changing results, to the way we treat the individuals and families in our care. Most families are thrilled with the results they get (our customer satisfaction rating is exceptionally high at 9.5 out of 10). And in the rare instances that someone is unhappy, our desire has always been to address the situation and turn that unhappy client into a lifelong fan.”

LEARNINGRX CONTINUES TO CLARIFY WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR CLIENTS

"Brain Training (also known as Cognitive Skills Training). We work one-on-one with clients to improve 7 key cognitive skills (short-term memory, long-term memory, processing speed, auditory processing, visual processing, logic & reasoning). LearningRx specializes in making kids and adults of all ages measurably smarter through research-based programs that train the brain. While tutoring focuses on re-teaching information, LearningRx's one-on-one brain training programs strengthen cognitive skills. These are the skills that make up IQ and determine how quickly and accurately we receive and process information. In other words, brain training strengthens the lifelong skills necessary to succeed in school, on the job, and in life. With 87 brain training centers across the U.S., LearningRx has helped thousands of students, career adults, seniors, and accident victims experience sharper memory skills, better concentration, and faster thinking.

LearningRx is a national brain training franchise that gets scientifically-measureable, dramatic improvements in brain performance for children and adults who struggle with reading, learning, thinking, remembering or paying attention. Our program is non-invasive and drug free, and is based on intense mental exercises done one-on-one with a personal brain trainer. This allows us to create intense, customized brain training programs that get dramatic results. In fact, our clients experience gains in brain skill performance that are unmatched by any other company on the market today.

LearningRx uses third-party independent tests to assess clients before & after training, publishing average gains in Results Report found at www.learningrx.com/research.

Tutoring and brain training are very different solutions to very different problems. Tutoring reteaches information that wasn’t grasped the first time it was presented, while LearningRx brain training strengthens the brain’s ability to grasp and process information. That means if identifiable circumstances (like missing too many classes due to a recent move or illness) have interfered with the delivery of information to your child, tutoring is a great way to catch up. But if information was delivered well the first time around—and your child is still struggling—you don’t need a tutor, you need a brain trainer. LearningRx brain training identifies any weak cognitive skills that are keeping your child from fully grasping or processing what is being presented in class. This is critical because studies show that roughly 80% of all learning or reading struggles are caused by a weakness in one or more of the brain’s core cognitive skills. Brain training identifies, targets and strengthens those weaknesses, making reading and learning easier than before and often eliminating the need for tutoring in the future.

With that in mind, here are five things that LearningRx brain training does that tutoring doesn’t:

1. Treat the root cause. As mentioned, LearningRx brain training strengthens the weak cognitive skills that studies show are at the root of 80% of all reading and learning problems.

2. Costs less. LearningRx is seven times more effective than tutoring for less than half the price! The largest study ever done on reading tutoring revealed that a year’s worth of tutoring results in one- to four-months gain in reading skills. But LearningRx delivers 3.1 years of reading gains in just 72 hours of one-on-one brain training.

3. Provides transferrable gains. LearningRx brain training improves the core brain skills necessary for learning and thinking in every subject and grade from now on. (Compare that to paying for tutoring year after year after year.)

4. Gets unmatched and lasting results. We measure the cognitive skills of every student before and after training and, when possible, a year later, Our results are not only dramatic, they last.

5. Changes the brain. How much can we improve brain performance? Here are average percentile gains experienced by LearningRx clients who come to us with moderate cognitive weaknesses:"

LEARNINGRX / RECENT CLIENT STATEMENT

"One of the things I’m most thankful for this Thanksgiving is the success of our son, Alex. Alex is 16 years old and a sophomore in a regular classroom.

Alex has struggled with ADD, learning disabilities, a speech disorder, anxiety, auditory processing disorder, and lazy eye. One by one, we have been tackling these issues with the use of vision and speech therapies, meditation, and lots of hard work and prayer.

In 2011 Alex underwent extensive testing, including brain scans while active and at rest. After the testing, we spoke to the neuropsychologist who recommended that Alex go through the LearningRx program.

We traveled two hours every Saturday morning just to get to the LearningRx center. Our wonderful trainer, Lori, made us laugh and kept us motivated throughout the program. Lori also trained me during our sessions so I could in turn train Alex at home for an hour a day. The program was the main focus in our lives for seven months. Everything centered around the program…which I think is why we were able to achieve such excellent results from it.

Alex’s post-test said it all: his IQ increased by 18 points, his memory was so much better, his confidence was way up, and his grades improved with every quarter. During the last quarter of his freshman year and the first quarter of his sophomore year, Alex received all A’s and B’s! We are especially proud that he achieved all of this while doing all of his homework on his own (a first), being on the football team, and successfully passing his driver’s test! We were all thrilled and so very proud of our guy.

When you have a child like Alex, your life isn’t going to be like everyone else’s. There is so much work and time involved to help that child learn and improve his skills. Every program that Alex went through helped, but LearningRx was like a mega miracle that propelled Alex into succeeded at his schoolwork, driving skills, and football plays like nothing else.

From that first phone call to LearningRx, to Alex’s LearningRx graduation, I could not have foreseen all of the remarkable changes that have occurred in Alex, solely as a result of this program. The cost and time involved in the program is just a fraction of the cost and time that we would have spent on getting Alex to where he is by any other method, if another method even exists.” ~ letter from a grateful mother of a 16-year-old LearningRx client

ANY BUSINESS THAT CAN ADMIT THEY MADE MISTAKES AND CORRECTS THOSE MISTAKES IS A BUSINESS YOU CAN TRUST AND IS WORTH DOING BUSINESS WITH.

"We do not get many complaints. (Our customer satisfaction rating is 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10--and we have had more than 30,000 people graduate from LearningRx--so a few comments on RipOff report is a very small number overall.) The few complaints we receive are usually related to one of two things: 1) The first is if a local franchisee does not follow guarantees or training procedures approved by the Home Office. We have had a few instances when a local center promised results or made guarantees that were not reflected in our system wide standards (and not approved by the Home Office), and parents were upset when that guarantee wasn't met. Or a franchisee did not follow our system standards, leading to poor training results or other issues.  This is a problem we have encountered in a few complaints we have received, and we have terminated or fined franchisees in the past over these issues. 2) The second common complaint we get in general is that our program is expensive. However, when you break it out to an hourly rate, we average roughly $80/hr which is comparable to other professional services out there. Plus, you typically only have to do the program once for 12-32 weeks, vs. tutoring where you go year after year. Lastly, the lifetime value of our results is immeasurable, and we have many testimonials where the parents said they “would have paid 10 times as much.”

If a client is unhappy with us in any way, or is convinced there was not enough value for money spent, we do everything we possibly can to work with that client, usually offering additional training at no charge. Sometimes the complaints come from people who are not clients, but went through our initial consultation, decided our prices were out of their budget, choose not to purchase any programs and wrote complaints about us. In these cases it is hard to even remedy the situation as they weren’t even a client and didn’t give us a chance.

Sometimes people complain that there is no research behind our programs, which is not true. We have many pages on our website that document the science and research behind our programs (www.learningrx.com/results), and are always making new efforts to highlight those pages on our website so more people have access to that kind of content.

Several other changes we have made recently: We have changed our operations manual to not allow franchisees to make any other guarantee except for the standard one offered. We also require written contracts with clients, and only allowed in rare instances for the contract to be modified at all. This should avoid any complaints about, “They did not meet their guarantee” and resolve the issue of unrealistic guarantees. We have also terminated franchisees that we have found are doing things that are unethical or do not reflect who we are. Two franchisees of our 87 were terminated in the past two years for these sorts of issues. We also have provided additional training through our support department for our franchisees, on how to manage expectations parents have, and how to provide superior customer service. We also continue to improve our training standards and observations to ensure that our highest training standards are consistent across all our centers. Finally, we continue to be selective in the franchisees we choose, to make sure they will operate within our standards and provide top-notch customer service.”

As stated above, LearningRx is committed to 100% customer satisfaction and has made extensive effort to ensure that all customers have a positive experience while at their business.

After speaking with the management at LearningRx and emailing anyone who filed a complaint in the past, Ripoff Report is proud to give LearningRx a positive rating. LearningRx not only conducts extensive research and analysis to make sure their programs are getting the greatest improvements for their clients, the LearningRx World Headquarters Leadership has assured Ripoff Report that policies are continually being evaluated and improved so that clients have the best possible experience.

“We see lives changed for the better every day. And not just ‘tweaked’ for the better, but literally transformed. We take our responsibility to the families who come to us for help very seriously.”

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR IN THIS INDUSTRY

"As you know, brain training is in the news as scientists, educators and researchers continue to make new discoveries about what the brain is capable of achieving, and how much influence we can have over improving brain performance at any age and stage of life. When looking to this developing field for help for yourself or someone you love, look for the following things:

1) Look for a company that has an established track record. As a national franchise, LearningRx has been around for 15 years and is backed by more than 40 years of research and development by founder Dr. Ken Gibson.

2. Compare apples to apples. For example, compare training strategies. Other companies offer digital brain training that clients do at their own pace, frequency, and comfort-level. LearningRx is the industry-leader in one-on-one brain training in which training is done consistently, with accountability, with intensity, and with the advantage of working closely with personal brain trainers who keep clients working at—and exceeding—their comfort level and mental abilities. Understand the strategies, distinctives, benefits and results associated with any company you are considering. Think of the difference between a treadmill and personal trainer—we are your personal trainer for the brain.

3. Consider how a company conducts pre- and post-training assessments. It’s one thing for a company to say that clients started their program at one level and, after practicing the exercises twenty times, got better or faster at those same exercises. In other words, be aware if a company “tests” improvements by having clients practice the “test” over and over. When possible, choose a company that uses independent pre- and post-training testing that is different from the brain training exercises they put their clients through. Independent, third-party, standardized pre- and post-training assessments offer the best indication of true improvements after training."

LearningRx is both a pioneer and leader in the one-on-one brain training industry, with results that are both scientifically-measurable and dramatic. Their programs are solidly-based on the science of neuroplasticity and their average rating, when clients are asked how likely they are to recommend this company to a friend or colleague, is 9.5 out of 10.

"We get dramatic, life changing results, with measurable numbers far beyond our competitors (with an average gain in IQ of 15 points, and more than a 30 percentile point improvement across 7 cognitive skills). We measure these results using the Woodcock-Johnson III Tests of Cognitive Abilities and Tests of Achievement, and independent and gold-standard test used by professionals Nationwide. And we publish them (you can see our results report at: http://www.learningrx.com/downloads/2011-learningrx-results-report.pdf ). We work one-on-one with clients, which creates an environment of accountability and performance—similar to working with a personal trainer, we are a personal trainer for the brain. We find and treat the cause of learning struggles, not just masking the symptoms like tutoring or other solutions. We are backed by decades of research in Neuroscience and the brain."
