This product does NOT work for everyone.   It does work for some.  The problem is, if it does not work for you and you are signed up as a Loyal Customer, it will end up costing you a lot of money!   They also charge $9.00 for shipping, and on top of that you still have to pay taxes.   So, you do not really get anything for that low price they use to hook you in!  Below, I will explain to you what to be VERY careful of if you are thinking of signing up as a Loyal Customer.

First of all, if you cancel before the trial period of 3 Months is up, you will be charged a $50 early termination fee.

This is taken directly from the It Works! Terms and Conditions -  Customers who cancel their membership before the three-month minimum commitment has been fulfilled will be charged a $50 early termination fee on their credit card on file.

If you don't cancel, then you end up with A LOT of Body Wraps that have cost you A LOT of money, that do not work for you.  And, if you try to return them, it will still cost you  a lot of money.  You will have to pay for ALL SHIPPING COSTS.  And, you have to pay a RESTOCKING FEE of 10%.  This 10% can really add up due to the high cost of the product.  It could easily cost you $20 to return 2 wraps.

If you don't want to pay the outrageous restocking fee along with shipping, you are stuck with  a product that you cant use, and are out hundreds of dollars.

You are NOT ALLOWED to sell your unused product. If you do, they will terminate your account and charge you the $50 early termination fee.  So, you can't even try to make your money back for something you purchased and can't use.  They actively monitor Ebay and Craigslist, and harass anyone trying to make some of their lost money back.

The following is taken directly from their Customer Loyalty Policy and Procedures, which you must agree to to receive the Loyal Customer Discount.  -   "The It Works Customer Loyalty Program allows a customer to enjoy wholesale pricing on all orders by making a three-month minimum commitment to a monthly auto-ship order.  Loyal Customers can purchase product for personal use only and cannot resell the product for any reason. Only distributors are authorized to sell product. Customers found to be selling product will immediately have their rights to buy product terminated."

The following is taken directly from the It Works! "Return Policy"   -
"To receive a refund, all products must be returned within 30 days of purchase in re-saleable, un-opened, "new" condition. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs. There will be a 10% re-stocking fee applied to all customer returns."

So, if these don't work for you, there is nothing you can do but continue to your credit card billed and accept product that does nothing for you.  Great company huh?   Way to stand behind your product!   These are terrible policies.  What kind of company forces people to continue to purchase products they don't want?   They even go so far as to tell you what you can and can't do with this product that you purchased, and now own!  This is not even legal..  Federal Law (First Sale Doctrine) dictates that a consumer my do whatever he/she wnats with a product after they have purchased and paid for it.  It Works! knows this, but, even though they know they can't legally stop you from selling it, they will cancel your account and charge you $50 if you do.

Be very careful if you decide to join the Loyal Customer program.  Because whether it works for you or not, once you do, you are STUCK with it.  And, there is not way for you to get out without costing you money.

There are a lot of people in my area who are stuck with Wraps they don't want.   Several people I know were suckered into the Loyal Customer Program.  After finding out that the product does not work well for them, they found out all of the above information. I posted  So, now all these people are having their credit cards billed, and are being sent products that do not work for them.    I'm just hoping that at the least, this ripoff report will open peoples eyes to what this company is really all about.  If they really stood behind their product, they would accept returns without making the customers pay for it!  They also would not penalize people who honestly wanted to give their product a try, and found that it didn't work for them.  They would not charge these people $50 for not wanting to continue to pay for a product that does not work for them!  This is a scam.  Please Beware.

It Works... doesn't work.

Sorry kids, just because it's "All Natural" doesn't mean it's healthy. Heroin is all natural too. And just because it occurs in nature, doesn't mean your body "needs it"... again, heroin... or if you prefer cyanide, arsenic, lead, cadmium, etc.

Unfortunately, the "Distributors" of It Works! are overly trusting.  It Works! is a pyramid scheme type business.  Their Distributors "buy" in and if they do not sell a minimum amount, they do not get paid.  On the surface, the information they are told about their system sells them.  It sells all sorts of people struggling with weight loss and promises of fast and huge results is what sells.  But the problem with "wraps" is that they are all a waste of time.  All of them.  These types of systems have been attempted since the 1950's, or possibly earlier.  Once just plastic wrap.  Then, many tried "secret blends of herbs" and basting techniques.  By every medical expert, this method is only a means to become dehydrated.  Sorry.  Ok - so, the wraps are 100% scam and totally a waste.  So, what about the supplements, diet and exercise.  Well - here is where weight loss "can" work.  The supplements are not "bad" However, there are much better products on the market.  Plus, not every supplement works for every person - especially if they are not also watching their diet and exercising.  The problem with It Works! is that they lead in and sell people on a "miracle wrap" system...which is the focus of their advertising...their photo proof of success...and I'm sorry, but that is false advertising.

People - the best thing "anyone" can do for weight loss and toning will always - always - always be diet and exercise.  Join a gym, pay the same money on a trainer and nutritionist.  Failures in diets come from trying to restrict "too" much or changing too drastically, too fast.  Failure with most workout plans is actually "doing" them...but also diet.  Diet is more than 50% of your success or failure with any plan.  It Works! - is simply going to waste your money, in the long run.

For It Works! "Distributors" - you all need to really look at what you are selling.  Because you have been misinformed and making money off of people's desperate needs for quick solutions.  There are no quick solutions.  Wraps will only hurt those you sell them to.  If you are "ok" with being supplement distributors, be honest with your clients.  But in the end, it isn't enough.  Good luck to you in all your decision making.  However, as a Doctor, Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, I can say without a doubt that complaints are warranted.

YOU ARE WRONG

AUTHOR: Nel - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, July 18, 2015

The rules are exactly what you said, However if you have any kind of a goo ddistributor, she would have told you that if the wraps DO NOT work there are other optione so that you dont have to get wraps for three months straight! We even have as low as a $7 product that qulifies for your Aut shipment and will not breach your contract! The contract in no way says that you have to have the same thing in your auto ship order every month! You made the decision to not ask, or not look into changing your auto shipment. This inturn gave you a bad experience. However we have over thirty products that you could have switched to when you realized the wraps werent working! You could have sold the rest of the wraps made your money back plus $25 dollars if you only used one out of it! You were not informed of the rules CORRECTLY when obtaining your auto shipment! This doesnt mean our company is  in the wrong! It just means you picked the wrong distributor, She obviously didnt brief you on any of the options you have! In the firest three months you can but ANY product during those auto ships, all you have to do id go in and change it online. That easy! You would have been happy if you were my client bc I would have set u up with a product I knew would help! Sorry for your bad experience, if you have anymore questions I am available! 317-970-3634. PLEASE DO RESEARCH AND ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS BEFORE SAYING SOMETHING TO MAKE THE WHOLE COMPANY LOOK BAD! THANKS!

Ridiculous claims

AUTHOR: Dawn - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 24, 2015

The It Works products are amazing and they absolutely work. If $23 is an over priced item than Mary Kay must be $10 which I know for a fact that Mary Kay and Avon are more expensive than our products.

All natural plant based products have no harmful ingredients and by nature, your body requires the ingredients that are in all of our products. I was a skeptic too until I tried the products for over 6 months. As far as making money, I don't see how you can make money if you're not working your butt off, as if you were working any other job. You get what you put in. I have been a distributor for 6 months and I am thrilled to be apart of this company.

If you were treated poorly by another distributor, try reaching out to another distributor. Also, there is some serious mass confusion on the $50 fee. We are not a "diet program" and if the Wraps do not work for you, I encourage you to try a different product. I guarantee we have something you will love. Taxes are assessed based on your State laws and every company charges shipping, the good news is you get free shipping after your 90 day loyal customer program. We ask you to commit to 90 days so you can get the best results possible. Nothing works over night. If you choose to cancel before 90 days, the company will charge a $50 fee but why cancel when you can order 1 product at the price of $23? I have cancelled a few customers and they were never charged again. Ask questions, do research before you commit to anything before bashing the company with baseless claims.

I am not sure you were correct about Nothing enters the body from the outside except " the sun?  I know that there are indeed things that are absorbed into the body, pain meds, nitroglycerin, etc.  I am not disputing or agreeing with this products efficacy as I personally have no experience with it.  I was simply concerned that in calling yourself " Dr. Matt". People may mistakenly believe that particular statement.

My experience and a better option

AUTHOR: Danika - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 31, 2014

First of all, It Works is a MLM company so their main focus is signing people up, not the products they are selling. I dealt with the same aggravation as others on here about a year and a half ago.

It was such a negative experience that I check up from time to time to see if maybe a class action law suit or something has been brought against them...lol. Not because I want to get in on it-just because they were so arrogant and rude to deal with that I am anticipating the day they finally have to answer for their business practices (if that day ever comes).

I believe most people research products and companies online before they buy and with all the negative and harsh criticisms directed towards It Works, I am truly surprised that they still manage to reel people in. The wraps didn't work for me and all my dealings with them were infuriating.

As a side note-if you want to try something that is a FRACTION of the cost and DID work for me try the Lucalean wraps. They have been amazing for me and they come with a money back guarantee. It's a small company and they are really friendly. And, most importantly, they aren't MLM. I'm not saying all MLM companies are rip-offs-there are some good ones out there. IMO It Works is definitely not one of them.

Restocking Fee

AUTHOR: Nydica - ()

POSTED: Sunday, October 05, 2014

As a CSR for It Works, I have all sorts of information. However, I want to set the record straight in regard to the 10% restocking fee. It Works Customer Service removed that required fee several months ago, so when a customer sends back a product, they receive a refund less shipping. However, refusals do cost $5 and are not a guarantee to arrive back to the warehouse as usps/other couriers deem them low priority, as nobody is paying return shipping.

Shipping depends on location. $9 is not a flat rate unless you are a Canadian Citizen. In the US, depending on number of products purchased, it starts out at $3.95 for Standard 7-14 business day. The more items you buy, the more the shipping does go up, however, shipping is free standard on orders of $125 or more, or after the third consecutive automatic shipment.

The LCA (Loyal Customer Agreement) states that by agreeing to the terms and conditions, you agree to the 3 months of shipments OR $50 membership fee is assessed for early termination. That is correct. However, we never force a customer to remain with the same items for those three months. If the wraps are not working, we have a full skin care line, as well as different supplements. There is no minimum cost a customer must purchase. The lowest costing items are $23.

At this time customers are responsible for the cost of returning the products in a new unopened condition. However, in the future it is possible that this may change.

If a customer feels they are wronged or have been misled by a DT (I do apologize, not all the independent DT's are honest, it's a fact of life with any company) just please do not take it out on the Customer Service Agents. They are not the ones billing your cards, they are just trying to keep their jobs in a crappy economy. We take complaints seriously and if you're willin to be civil with the agents and keep in mind "OK this person did not do it personally to me, they want to HELP me..." we often will find a way to resolve any and all issues.

I am a former Agent for It Works, however, still keep in touch with many who are currently still employed in several centres around NY.

Taxes on It works Products

AUTHOR: Roni - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, September 24, 2014

I am a distributor with the It Works company. I would like to address the comments about being charged tax on our products. I am huge on customer satisfaction and take care of a lot of processing my Loyal Customers orders. I have customers that live in different states. I would notice some customers were being taxed for products and some not. That didn't seem fair. So I decided to do a little research of my own. Being taxed for our products has NOTHING to do with our company.  Our products are made with complete all natural ingredients of fruits, vegetables and plants. Every state has their own laws on what is considered taxable. So stop blaming the company. It's your state. Do the research yourself.

#116 Consumer Suggestion

To Dallas RE: MLM

AUTHOR: hd5777 - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2014

Based on your rant, which I am quoting part of, "

"Multi Level Marketing remains the same today with one exception...... auto-bill credit cards.

When someone sells you through a party with promises of great riches, you should remember, you will just be a part of someone's downline.  Once you go through all your family and friends, it will be over for most of you.  My advise... go to your bank and cancel your card payment.  Believe me, they are not going to go after you.  But then again, you most likely bought in through family or friends, and there is the delima.  It is a crazy world.

In a survey it was once published, that 1 in 10,000 recruited people, would go on to actually make money in MLM.  The rest of you will just follow the leader.

Best of luck to you,

Dallas, Texas"

So, Dallas, I must correct you.  MLM is an old concept of just recruiting people, yes.  But things have actually changed since they made MLM's and Pyramid schemes illegal when there is not product included.

The very successful companies and their distributors are so, because they sell amazing product and it is something that they believe in.  No single weight loss product through direct sales will work for every single person, because everyone's bodies work differently and respond better to some products than others.

They include: "It Works!", "Advocare, "5Lynx" "P90X" and all it's spin off products, the list goes on.  So it is up to any individual if they want to try different products first, to see what works for them and is the smartest way to get involved and become a distributor if they so choose.  The loyal customer program with It Works! is something that you don't see with any other company.  To be able to be a customer and get the same prices as a distrubutor, without signing up as one is great.  Every program has fine print and has additional recommendations to use in conjunction with their products to help your results.  The bonus points for free product is unique too, because you not only get the lowest price, you get free product.  If you don't see the results of the products you choose after 90 days, because it just isn't for you (which btw, doesn't mean it is bad or a scam), you can cancel the membership.  If you have unused product, whether it's brand new, or been slightly used, your rep may be willing to buy them off of you for a price that is prorata.  I personally would do that if I had an unhappy customer (I am about to sign up as a distributor), because you know what?  That's just more inventory for me to resell if it is new, or use myself if it has been used.  That's just me.

I have been a distributor for the HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL companies including Scentsy, Velata and Grace Adele.  My mother used to be very successful in Lia Sophia but now she has joined Scentsy and Grace Adele, and is now doing "It Works!" and she has lost 20 pounds using the Greens and the Fat Fighter pills.  So the product is good for people.

Avon and Mary Kay are other examples of direct sales.

These companies train you to build a team, not just sign a bunch of people up WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE of getting a huge downline, because it is about the product, and most people will not sell something they don't like or don't believe in.  The fact that all of these companies offer a business opportunity that you can do on your own time, and doesn't require you to shove the products down peoples throat, are legitimate businesses.  The only difference is, there is not a brick and mortar store to be an employee of (FREEDOM), you are not an employee with a boss (AUTONOMY), because the companies like this choose to build revenue through direct sales vs OLD FASHIONED businesses that cost a LOT more money to run, maintain, hire and fire (which is very expensive).  It is essentially a telecommute career, with no limitations or earning caps.

Most all of the companies I mentioned above are different from It Works! because you can sign up for the sole purpose of getting your items at a "discount" because you earn commission.  My mom can't make too much money, for tax purposes because she is disabled, so with Scentsy, she just places orders for my siblings and for herself, applying the commission as a discount.  So, there are plenty of distributors out there who don't actively make a career out of it, by building a team consisting of teammates who will build their own team, and so on.  It Works! allows consumers to just buy at the discounted price by committing to a certain time period, that's awesome, because they don't have to invest the money of being a distributor and buying the items needed to run the business properly.

All of these companies provide opportunities to build careers, by being passionate about what they are selling.  The sky is the limit, and you are only going to get out of it, depending on what you put into it.  They are not scams or schemes, these companies just chose a different style of sales and marketing, and gives people the resources to grow their own business without investing lots of money in some other franchise that is high risk.  PERIOD.

MLM's/pyramid schemes in the 80's and 90's you are referring to are essentially Ponzi schemes, because you DID just recruit recruiters who just paid money for nothing which flowed only to the upline.  So, please don't try to compare Apples (legit product sales) and Rotten Oranges (schemes and scams that greedy people are willing to screw people over for).

You didn't actually have a true "RIPOFF" because clearly you have not used the product, all you did was wrongfully assume that it works they way you ripped people off.  So, perhaps you should list the company you ripped people off under as a legitamit RIPOFF, instead of a company which you have had no experience on the product or the process.

Go troll somewhere else!  You are only hurting people who have done nothing wrong, by posting negative comments on this site, because there are people making a living on selling these products because they do actually work.  You are negatively affecting the livelihood of those who want to succeed without useless and incorrect statements about something completely unrelated.

And as far as everyone else who has had a billing issue, dissatisfaction with the product or an isolated bad customer service experience who has posted your whining and complaining because you didn't do your due diligence before entering a binding agreement and you blindly accept terms and conditions (aka: contracts), that doesn't make the products or the company a "RIPOFF" and your complaints aren't justified.  There are ways to make sure customers are satisfied, you just have to know what your options are by asking questions of your distributor, and see what they can do for you.

These companies aren't like the recently exposed MAF charity that has been claiming to provide care packages to our military forces abroad, just to have the "founder" who also started Tea Party Express, to take donations from Americans who truly care and want to help support our troops, that WAS to be used for delivering these care packages, only to find out that they made a 9.8 million dollar profit, 30% of which went to the owner and the rest to super PACS to endorse politicians.  They used STOCK photos or stole photos from other charities and used them on their site to make it look like they were actually sending these care packages.  They have been busted.  If you create a brand new email and only sign up for announcements/marketing from MAF and NOTHING else, you will end up receiving information from PACs, because MAF and TPE are illegally selling their customer lists to politicians.  MAF was endorsed by Michelle Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, Rick Perry and d**k Cheney!!!!  Of course they were, because they were getting PAC money for their campaigns that were being siphoned off of a non-profit "charity" site, that made money that was NEVER used to donate or support our troops.  Sure, some money was needed for office space, but in reality, they needed more office space to run the super PAC that was funded by fradulent donations.  This is worse than a Ponzi, Pyramid or MLM scheme.

So, dude, educate yourself before you have diarreah of the mouth.  Do your research and fact-checking because you have NO idea what you are talking about.  It's the 21st century, there are brand new scams (craigslist sales, nigerian scams and more), and THOSE are the real problem.

NOT direct sales of wonderfully scented wickless candles, bath and body products, laundry products, warmers and air freshener products from Scentsy, NOT direct sales of customizable handbags, NOT diet and exercise products, and NOT makeup, or 5Lynx discounts and products.

Dr. Matt, Only The Facts

AUTHOR: Devil's Advocate - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 30, 2014

Dr. Matt,

It seems that you are not using your basic 'medical' knowledge when it comes to your statments.  I am neither for nor against this product, but I believe, in a report, facts should be used, not uninformed opinions. I've added my comments below each point.

A) Using a fat blocker is NOT a healthy way to take off unwanted weight...plain and simple.

Disagree.  Before you use such a product, though, you should always consult a doctor to ensure you are aware of any health risks you might encounter with using such a product.

In light of using the wraps, they do not say they block fat, only shrink existing fat and help the body to detox.

B) Distributors and Independents should NOT be selling or recommending any type of supplement is they dont have a degree or license....they dont have the knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary.

Agree/Disagree As stated above, you should always consult your doctor before starting a suppliment. But on the other side of the coin, if you were required to have a license to recommend a product, major companies, such as GNC, would be out of business.

C) The claims that the solutions used in the wraps helps to break down the toxins in the fat cells is a complete and out-right lie. The body doesnt not absorb anything other then sunlight from outside the body in. Its is physiologically impossible for a cream, lotion, etc to be absobed through the skin and taken up my the fat cells....IMPOSSIBLE

Disagree.  Your body absorbs many things through the skin, not just sunlight.  As an example, on the good side: Vitamin E.  On the bad side: Arsenic.

D) The wraps will NOT provide lasting or permanent results.

Agree.  Science has not found any chemical compound to make, and keep you thin.  It depends on your commitment for a healthy lifestyle.  Many products may assist you in this goal.  This could be one of them.

E) Teach people to be healthy....dont give them a cash alternative....

Agree.  People should be taught how to be healthy.  Cash alternative.. well..  some people like to make money and will sell products to do so. Every major brand does so.

Urea

AUTHOR: Lorelle - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 05, 2014

Well...urea is excreted by the urinary system, but it is actually a product of our body's metabolism. It is made in the liver when protein is broken down. Honestly, we all need to be respectful when making comments. This is a nice forum to come for information, but I would not believe anybody who is ranting and raving either way (pro or con). Secondarily, if you want to convince someone of your opinion, proper spelling is a must.

50% restocking fee? lol

Are you serious? Name one company that has a 50% restocking fee? If I buy something on Amazon (ANYTHING) they will typically give free shipping and no tax. If I decide to return the item there is NEVER a restocking fee and usually they will even cover return shipping. This is true about every single repuable company on the internet. Please get your facts straight before spreading misinformation. Good luck with your MLM scam, I am sure your friends love you pushing usless products their way.

Not A Scam

AUTHOR: Concerned Consumer - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2014

This is not a scam since they have clearly identified the rules and when you sign up for the three month loyalty program, you agree to those Terms.  If you fail to read the terms before accepting them, then you have to accept responsibility and cannot place the blame on the manufacturer or the distributor.

We have become a society of blind individuals who continue to place blame on others for our lack of due diligence or competency. We must be held accountable for our own actions.

While I agree the company should have a better return policy or at least a short term warranty period, we cant blame them. Their terms clearly state the conditions of sale.

I am not a distributor nor do i work for the company. But i am so tired of people blaming others rather than accepting responsibility for their own actions.

FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO SAY THAT THIS IS NOT  A SCAM BECAUSE YOU SHOULD ALWAYS READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS NO MATTER WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR. TRUE, IT COULD TAKE SOME TIME BUT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR. THEY MAKE IT SO YOU HAVE TO BUY THEIR PRODUCT FOR 3 MONTHS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IS THE AVERAGE TIME A PERSON SEES DEFINITE RESULTS WHEN TEY REALLY PUT IN THE TIME AND EFFORT!

I have just started using these body wraps about 2 months ago and they have helped me lose almost 20 pounds. Of course, before i used them i neer ate healthy daily, now i continue my jogs everyday and i have a really good diet and im proud. Mever have i seen results from just jogging like i used to or taking pills but i guess it works differently for everyone...

It Works IS A SCAM

AUTHOR: Stacey - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Anyone who goes to the presentation or looks on their website can see that their before and after pictures after the 45 minutes of being wrapped are in two different colors.  So there isn't a huge difference as they lead you to believe. Their vitamins are so harsh on the stomach that everyone in my group that ordered them had to stop taking them due to stomach pains. I chose to cancel and read the contract which indicates at $50 cancellation fee.  Once you do the math canceling prior to receiving any of the autoshipments is still cheaper then receiving the crap.

I called and spoke with a representative who informed me of the signed agreement and stated that I'd only be charged $50.  I just checked my account and was charged $53.50. I know that's not a lot over the $50 but I still called the company to find out why there was a difference from the stated amount. I was informed that the $3.50 was for taxes.  Taxes on what!!??  I didn't have anything shipped, I didn't order anything and the contract doesn't mention anywhere that I'd be taxed on a cancellation fee!!

The representative couldn't answer my questions, placed me on hold forever, only to return to tell me the fees been taken and I'm still concerned a loyal customer!!  Really??  What kind of customer service is this!!?? If I'm telling you that the product clearly sucks and I'm cancelling, what makes you think that I give a d**n about being classified as a loyal customer!!??  This is how they treat loyal customers---WOW!!  Apparently everything is taxed, outrageous shipping fees and restocking charges...  This must be how they're able to pay their distributors, because it's not based on their overpriced crappy products!!  Such a total SCAM!!!

It Works

POSTED: Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Just to clarify these are not  "employees" of the company they are independent distributors. If they are reported individually to the company as not handling themselves in a professional manner they can have their account suspended. Many of the people that are distributors for this company have knowledge of the products and know that it is their responsibility to notify the customer of the practices of the company. But it is also the customers responsibility to read what they are signing. Just like in lfe in general there are always going to be different opinions and people that dont choose their words wisely... you cant judge the whole company because of this. As i stated before, if they knew of these distributors they would be able to take action. I have personally used it works and had great results, i have also had a family member use it works and it not work for them. There are different steps to get to where you want to be. Just like if you join a gym. Some workouts or meal plans will work better for some than others. There are also product coaches that you can call and they can recommend something that may work better for you to get a jumpstart on a healthier lifestyle.

It Works! Distributors

AUTHOR: MissScarlet_ - ()

POSTED: Monday, August 12, 2013

To the original complaint:

There are enough rebuttals to last a lifetime already addressing every point you made. But I will note that the re-stocking fee is nominal, comparatively, appx 10%. Try that with an Apple product, or anything you order off ANY major website (amazon, b&n) and ck their restocking fee- for electronics it is often up to 50%.

I hate that your experience was a bad one & that it was not explained well, but at the end of the day, you are an adult and responsibility to know what you are signing and the exact terms and conditions of a contract you agree to comes down to...well....you.

 @MomJane ()

As an Independent Distributor for It Works! Global, I am so sorry about your experience. I started as a loyal customer and later became a distributor (6m ago). If I experienced what you did, I would probably feel the same way. Unfortunately, there are people (as in every company) who are great promoters and team builders, but not great trainers. IWG does provide training for distributors, but it is up to that distributor to get the training for themselves ( and hopefully it is encouraged and enhanced by their upline).

There are appx 70,000 independent distributors for it works. There are bound to be a few bad apples. I hope you won't hold the behavior of one against what really are some exceptional products and a bevy of committed, appropriately behaved distributors.

I have met and had conversations with all of the corporate team & I can assure you, Mark Pentacost (our CEO, we call him the Coach Exec Officer) would be mortified if he thought ANYONE; Distributor, Customer, Hostess- Anyone had been mistreated by someone associated with It Works!

As for others who feel they were misled regarding the loyal customer program, I apologize if it was not explained well. I myself have been guilty of being so excited about the product that I forgot to tell someone how to acheive optimal results, or when to photograph themselves or how often they can wrap. However, the terms are printed clearly and boldly on the product description flier. As a distributor, it does not behoove me or my business to have unhappy customers. Especially since after the first order goes in, I have very little control of my customers interactions with corporate/customer service. I want you to be happy with my products, I want you to have the kind of results I had. I want you to get a kickstart to a healthier lifestyle. My team is my chosen family. I am in touch with them daily, and I am the keeper of their dreams, both big and small. I take that responsibility very seriously and lead by example.

It is very upsetting to me to know that someone did not treat you, your concerns and your needs with the respect they deserve. I agree about customer service and I truly hope that the next time you are greeted or approached by someone in the "green, black & bling", it is more representative of the "Fun, Friendship & Freedom" mantra that most of us believe in.

Happy Wrapping!

POSTED: Friday, August 02, 2013

I am sorry to hear that you have had bad experiences with a distributor through the company, but not all of these people are lazy! A lot of us are very hard working and put others' needs before our own! For those complaining about the $50 cancellation fee...it is stated on the contract it is a membership fee that is being waived but if you break the 3 month contract then yes you will be charged. Also you do not keep getting stuck with a bunch of wraps when you are a loyal.....You have your own login info and you can change your order each and every month!!! And as for the shipping it varies in the distance and how much your package will weigh. From where I am standard shipping is only $3.95 for a box of wraps.

If you are a loyal customer and you like our products and you stay with us after your 3 months then you will recieve FREE shipping!! BTW since you have your autoshipping turned on you earn perk points that you can use towards another order! After 3 months if you just do not like the idea of it being taken out of your debit each month then call and turn off the autoshipping and just order when you want and still get the loyal customer pricing! I swear by these products and I am not just saying that because I have to! I am no bullshitter. I do not see how people can say this company is a rip off??? Apparently you guys are being misinformed by some distributors, you just need to contact someone who know what they are talking about and do not mind to do the work, I love working for this company!!! There are products for everyone! Not just body wraps and everything is all natural!

MLM is MLM

AUTHOR: Dallas - ()

POSTED: Thursday, July 04, 2013

I was around MLM way back in the 70's with Glenn W. Turner and Dare to be Great.  Look people, MLM is pure and simple "people recruiting".  The products are only there to make it legal.  Later on we needed products to be legal.  In the 80's I had the largest downline in the USA with regard to Water Filters.  I could have cared less about water filters.  My only goal was to recruit people.  Through siminars, Newspaper ads, and of course through my downline. We didn't have the luxury of the internet.  "Kits" are what we crammed down the poor suckers throats.... along with a commitment minimum of 90 days.  In those days we did not have the ability to auto-bill someone's credit card, so we did the next best thing, and got them to sign a contract for the 90 days.

My downline had so many thousands of people, that I employed a collections department to call those who departed early, to remind them of their commitment contract. And we did collect.  In the 80's I was personally making over $100,000 per month..... every month.  Eventually, the Texas Attorney General's Office issued an ultimatium to us and we folded.  Not because we were bad, but because of the amount of "buyers remourse" claims.   I walked away with about $3.5 mil after 3 years.

Multi Level Marketing remains the same today with one exception...... auto-bill credit cards.

Dallas, Texas

Wow since when defending something you love and want to share with the world became, NASTY, UNPROFESSIONAL, CRAZY?? and you know what it is okay if some of you did not enjoy the product line, it does not work for everybody, I have tried a lot of products in my life before Herbalife, shakeology, among other dieting pills that just did not work for me and that is okay because it might of work for someone else. Before I got involved with IT WORKS products and the company I did a little research of my own and even though I read many positive and negative arguments regarding the products but I decided to judge for myself.

I truly apologize in the name of all my team to all of you that had an unpleasant experience. Distributors should always provide customers with a copy of the terms and policies, and also follow up with them. In my case is not all about the money I had great results and wanted to share them with everyone I know. Distributors that truly follow procedures, and are truly passionate about what they do will try to explain more about the programs and products and sorry if we might sound crazy to you but we are Wrapstars! We love what we do!

everyone has the right to comment their insights, their experiences, either as a cusotmer or employee, positive or negative it's OKAY we all have that right, but getting offensive? If you don't want to use them, don't order them

AUTHOR: itzme - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 06, 2013

I know that you can try a body wrap before you commit to being a loyal customer. Generally you are given all the facts about being a customer before you sign up as one and give somebody your credit card info. You can purchase a single body wrap from $25 to $50 to use before you decide to jump in. Also you can change your order every month if you like on the loyal customer program so you aren't tied in and shipping frees range from $3.95 up so the $9 shipping is not true for a box of wraps. For the lady with the credit card entered and she hadn't agreed to start yet she needs to send her complaint to the company, that's a problem with integrity in that particular distributor.

It's sad not everybody has integrity but these products work and what's wrong with people that they bad mouth everything without the facts.

not for everyone

AUTHOR: dgalpin - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I am an Independent Distributor for this company. I went through and read all of the rebuttals. Although I am an employee, I can sympathize with the frustrated.

When you are signing up to be a loyal customer, you fill out an order form. On the back of this order form, it clearly states the rules/policies of the contract. You are required to sign the bottom. In doing this, you are stating you understand the rules/policies of the agreement.

If you have signed the customer order form, which is required for placing an order, then this means you have read the back and understand its entirety. If you are unclear of the terms to loyal customer program, then you should ask questions before signing the agreement. Unfortunately, if you signed the agreement and failed to do so, then this is no ones' fault but your own.

On the back, it clearly states the loyal customer program rules, product refunds/returns, and the perk points program, as well as how to contact customer support. It is all laid out, very simply, and for you to view before committing.

As far as the product not working or working? Different people get different results. A lot of it depends on how toxic you are to begin with, and continue to be, if you used the product correctly, and are you using the correct product for your desired results.

We sell more than just wraps, although the wraps are very popular. We also sell natural nutritional supplements, protein powders, and protein energy bars, skin care products, etc.  For people looking to achieve a loss more thn 20 pounds, we have packages specifically chosen to fit those needs. If you just need to lose that last 1-20 pounds, then the wraps alone are great. Again, everybody experiences different results.

1 full treatment is considered 4 wraps, which is what comes in a box. Some people see results as early as their first full treatment, and others who might be more toxic, may need 2 or 3 treatments. So, it really depends on you, the customer, as to what kind of results you will see. And also, the drinking water part is a MUST, and a big solution to some's problem with the product.

I hate when i have a customer who doesnt see the results they want. But, honestly, it doesn't happen very often. Although, from time to time, there are a few unfortunate customers who are disappointed. I do my best to suggest other products we offer until we find the right fix. Maybe you just didnt have the best distibutor? Maybe they were new and still completing training? or maybe you didnt read all the rules yourself before signing the contract? Either way it's an unfortunate circumstance, and hopefully one day you can opt to give it another try?

I won't be buying either

AUTHOR: cletis80 - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 15, 2013

First off, the comments from employees are rude and should be embarrassing for the company and themselves. They go on and on about the wraps not working becuase of people eating McD's and junk and all that when no one on here said, "The wraps didn't work and I eat fatty crap all the time."

Second off, I will not be buying this product because of the rude and ignorant comments made by the distributors. Way to go make a buck. Most of these people that "distribute" crap for a company are just looking for a quick buck and don't want to try to go earn a buck. It goes for all the companies that have people sell stuff for them. Other companies seem to be more reputable though.

Third and last, most of the people that I see selling these wraps are not the picture of perfection themselves. So maybe before they get on here and snip at people about eating junk food all the time they should take their own advice. It's like going to a dentist who has no teeth or buying a car from a dealer who doesn't have a license.

Oops, I do have one more comment. I really like how when people post pics on here of before and after showing how great the wraps work...I like the fact that they never show anyone's face. It's just the shoulders down. Yeah, I'm going to believe that that is the same person in both pictures...I don't think so.

So Quick to Post...

AUTHOR: JoJo777 - ()

POSTED: Saturday, May 04, 2013

I see so many people that are so quick to judge on another or even a legitimate company.

It Works... It Doesn't Work... I see both sides and the frustration that goes on when you feel you are not getting what you paid for. Before bashing every distributor in the company, or even the consumers…

One should look at some of the most reputable company’s customer complaints that they receive every day. When you deal with a lot of consumers you’re going to get complaints.

I researched this company and have found that they did over 200 million last year, and will probably double that this year... Impressive numbers!

1) They have to be doing something right to have the sales dollars and the growth over the last 8-10 years.

2) I have had bad experiences with several companies big and small, and trying to get a auto bill credit card stopped is crazy. I understand the frustration. But this happens with some of the most reputable companies every day. I tried to get my credit card auto pay stopped from a couple of the credit card reporting companies, not the free deal, actually from the main companies themselves. I finally had to cancel my card!

My point is you can bash a company but every company has problems and the bigger the company, the more complaints. It would be nice if people didn't post they got ripped off! Many people post things like that in the blink of an eye.

Look at the BBB listed in a news report giving Hamas a terrorist organization an A-... Go figure! This is a company that is supposed to help the consumers. Even they have issues and they have been around forever.

I wrote this because my daughter recently got involved with the company, IT Works, and I was very skeptical and tried to pro actively talk her out of it.

She proceeded and has been involved with the company for a few months. I seen the results of the wraps that she had done on several of her customers. Most went very well and I was impressed..(Surprised) Some did not and that is OK and she explained that it was not for everyone.

She has had good response from her team leaders and from the company so far... I am not discrediting the complaints; it's just some complaints tend to be shooting from the hip.

I believe if IT Works company has some of these issues, than they need to change some procedures and customer satisfaction policies. I am having my daughter get in touch with the powers to be, to make sure that they can perform and smooth out any customer issues.

But I see more complaints on smaller companies that do very little business in comparison to these large companies. You can't please everyone but you can try to keep integrity and good customer policy evolving as you grow. I hope everyone can resolve issues on both sides.

So I got in to this company as a distributor because a friend of mine gave me a free wrap.  Originally, I had tried some other wraps with no effect at all.  So I tried this one, and guess what?  It worked for me.  What's more is she gave me a sample of some stuff called Greens! and this stuff is amazing.  I take the vitamins, the Greens!, the protien shake, fat blocker all of it and guess what? It works too.  I never thought that I would lose weight this quickly.  Also, I literally feel 10 years younger.  The best testimony to these products is my daughter who is diagnosed as ADHD and Dyslexic with ODD.  We have tried everything, short of committing her to a psychiatric treatment facility for an extendend amount of time.  I was at the principal's office everyday with her when she wasn't on medication.  And when she was taking her medication, she had no life in her (sleepy, disengaged, uninterested in her surroundings)  I was at a loss.  I asked her pediatrician to review the contents of the Greens! and she gave us the go ahead.  I am sooo happy to report that this has been the only thing that has brought my daughter back to me, without the use of harmful methyl drugs.  I am a Bachelor's degree Nurse and I love these products.  I would never endorse something that I didn't wholeheartedly believe in.

I appologize for those of you who ended up with a distributor who was a poor spokesperson of the company that I support.  ItWorks! distributors should be fully trained and know that they can remind thier Loyal Customers that they can change the date of thier autoship to a time when it is more convienent,  as well as change the products autoshipped to them,or to simply let the distributor know and she/he can put in a ticket on thier behalf. I have heard some horror stories from my own friends and family, but it is solely the distributors who do not follow up with thier Loyal Customers who have tarnished the brand name ItWorks!

I went to a ItWorks 'Party' and joined as a loyal customer against my better judgement. I was told that after the initail 3 month period that you need to maintain to be a loyal customer, that the payments and autoshipments would automatically stop, and that you had to go onto the website to place further orders. I was so shocked by the cost of shipping ($25 for a 30ml cream) that I wanted to make sure I would not incur any further charges. I emailed to cancel my membership. However, they continued to charge my card. I made several attempts to contact IW and when I eventually got someone, they said there was nothing they can do. WHAT? even though they ILLEGALLY CHARGED MY CC WITHOUT MY CONSENT?? I sent the products back and have been chasing them regularly for my refund for over 2 months! I have just received an email saying they will refund me less shipping and packing fee, which after paying to send the product back basically results in nothing! This company is FRAUDULENT and has NO MORALS. DONT BE A FOOL, STAY AWAY FROM IT WORKS COS IT DOESNT!

Loyal Customer terms are clear

I found the company to be very clear in the loyal customer program. I have friends who wanted to buy some wraps, I was aware of the policy because I am smart enough to read the fine print before I give my credit card information and I choose to become a distributor. The It Works products are great, I love everyone of them I have tried so far and look forward to trying more. I can not tell you how many bottles of diet pills that did not work are in my cabinet because they did not work for me. I will however refrain from bashing each and every one of them on this site however because I am a bigger person than that. Bottom line is the It Works products work great for me and everyone I know who has used them. They do not sell them as a get skinny quick item and they are very clear that you need to use at least 4 wraps before you see a difference for many. So obviously these people with left over wraps did not follow simple usage instructions.

POSTED: Friday, April 26, 2013

This is to the person above me who just reported that the "employees" were unprofessional comment. Where do you work? I'm sure what you do relates to selling a product, service, or something of the sort. Do you stand by what you do for a living? If you do, then how can you say the employees of this company are being unprofessional for stating facts and giving a rebuttal? I read each and every comment and found nothing to be profane or "unprofessional".

The person who initially posted this comment basically made a fool out of herself/himself by "quoting" the terms and conditions verbatim. If you knew the facts from the beginning then why did you buy the product? A SMART company would have strict terms and conditions, Because those companies that allow anyone to return something if it doesn't work will eventually go bankrupt. There are too many dishonest people who would return something even if it did work! Times are hard and people find any way possible to get their money back.

Do your research before ordering or buying something you're not happy with...don't put ridiculous information out there to potentially ruin a businesses reputation. You'd understand if you were a business owner like myself!! Too many people believe scam reports without experiencing it for themselves.

I too cannot believe how rude the Employee's are to those posting comments here.  My friend is having a It Works party and I was seriously thinking about attending until I came across how unprofessional their employees are.  I believe each consumer is entitled to their opinion.  It works for some, doesn't for others, but under no circumstances should employee's berate anyone who has used their product!

explanation of how it workd

AUTHOR: concerned consumer - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 25, 2013

Hello I just read this post and I think it is ludicrus that this company has been reported as a scam. All those things that were quoted from the company I was told about up front. This report contains a lot of "ifs" and "coulds" and not a lot of facts to why it would be considered a scam.

That 50 dollar charge that he kept talking about is called a membership fee and they waive that when you sign up to be a loyal customer however they also told me that if I cancelled my order before I fulfilled my commitment that I would be charged that fee. So I don't understand how that could be considered a scam it seems more slanderous than anything.

They never claimed to be able to fix me and were complently up front about all those fine print he was talking about as well as the return policies. I could name countless other reputable companies that you have to pay the shipping and processing fee for returns. This so called rip off report sounded more like a vendetta or personaly bias as apposed to an actual scam!

Bad representation

POSTED: Tuesday, April 23, 2013

I was going to sign up for the loyalty program knowing full well what was in the terms. I am a person that will only deal with company's that appreciate their customers and show the appreciation. Majority of the distributors and associates are very rude and act like they are doing us a favor but guess what you treat customers rudely they will go elsewhere. Your not the only company selling wraps there are others. Instead of being rude and cocky if you are addressing a customers concern you validate the concern, apologize for the confusion and tell them what you can do for them instead of going down their throat about what is in the contract we are people not numbers. I am not trying to be rude but there is a more tactful way of addressing customers you may not be able to give them exactly what they want but at least try and think outside the box. I feel bad for the person who got emails from an associate and didn't even know what the company was. Then got a reply back tearing a new one really that's how you do business this makes me want to make a face book page just for this company and put all the negative replies from the associates to show how "good" the customer service is. It's just sad

If your goal is to lose inches read this. If your goal is to make money this won't be for you.

AUTHOR: Dave''''s Wife - ()

The It Works didn't do anything for me. The main goal of this company is to recruit you to sell their over-priced product to others. It is an MLM (which are legal) but a good MLM will have good products at reasonable prices (like Mary Kay and Avon). If your goal is to lose inches and tone up you are much better off using Lucalean. It's MUCH cheaper, there's no minimum to buy, it isn't a MLM and it has a money back guarantee. Most importantly it actually does work.

My "friend" became a distributor some months back. I was skeptical, I mean you know the addage, "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is." Boy did I fall hard for this scam! I started this 3 weeks ago. No weight or inches lost. Did everything i was supposed to. And others i didn't have to, i.e. change my diet totally. I got kicked off their facebook page b/c i asked too many questions. apparently, once they make that sale, especially that "loyal customer" sale, they don't give a s**t about you. Put words in your mouth, tell you it's all your fault cuz you didn't do it right. I forgot, we all live together in the same dwelling, so, yeay, they would know alright! i'm gonna post all over fb, and everywhere else I can, that this program is a scam & pyramid scheme i believe! who gives a $10,000 sign-on bonus? you know that's a trap!

I will agree with the poster that no, not everything always works for everyone, but why in the world would you sign up for product if it didn't work for you.  Most people can go to a wrap party and try a single wrap for $25.  This allows any and all skeptic's to see if this really is something that you want. When and if a person signs up as a loyal customer (you can purchase items with out becoming one) you are told you will recieve the discounted price if you agree to purchase  ONE item, Any item from them for three months.  You are able to go into your site and change your items at any time.  So if you jumped the gun and didn't read what a loyal customer is and didnt try the product first that is all on you.  Also, lets be honest here, if you had a product and it was not working for you, most uplines would prob be willing to take those items off your hands.  The whole point of saying that a loyal customer can not sell the items is because people will go out and make claims that are not true and ask large amounts of money for them, all with out getting a W-2 at the end of the year.  Will people sell them that shouldnt, yes.  Will It Works! be able to go after everyone no.  I am not saying that it is ok to sign up and go out selling them as a rep of the company because it is not.  Thier distributors are held to standards that if not followed can allow them to lose thier status as a distributor.

What I am saying is before you knock a product and how thier company works, maybe you should try it and actually read the paperwork before you sign on the dotted line!

I whole heartily agree with you--you belong in Itworks.  I want you to accelerate your marketing efforts by copying this board and printing out your remarks.  I want you to make fliers and brochures of this discussion in full and pass them out to everyone you see as a prospect and highlight your remarks as full proof of your condescending attitude toward those who did not have good results with the products nor were dealt with professionally in the customer service dept.

Let everyone know you had zero experience with the company in any capacity, aside from "friends" being involved, yet you were scientifically able to defend the product line and even though you had zero experience with the customer service dept. and their practices yet you were in full support of the way they do business.

After you've done that marketing test balloon, let them know how thankful you were that the product worked for you because you made some pretty harsh remarks toward those who it didn't work for and were mislead.  Then let them know how you even went back with your angst to spank the poor uneducated souls with your results.  What a trooper you are.

Then go ahead and print out pictures of marks that look like bruises, intense rashes, blackening of eyes(facial wrap) etc of those who the product didn't work for.  Then let them know if they have a compliant about their new found rashes and blackening of the eyes--that's it's THEIR FAULT for trying the product to begin with.  Do your research, Itworks can be a scary product.

My dear, you could be the prime example of how the product can work but your also a prime example why so many stay away from cult like network marketing companies and the blood thirsty reps who work with them.  Many in MLM are full of venom and hatred toward outsiders because they want to believe they will be rich someday by peddling the product.

I have had experience with the people in Itworks.  I'm not even discussing the product line because they are a dime a dozen--Just overweight people looking for a quick fix and to make money in the process.  All of these people who claimed great success would have the long term benefits if they continued to change their eating and exercise habits.

I've been on conference calls where leaders of the company made fun of "FAT" people(as they put it) for not taking a blitz card or for turning down an invitation to a wrap party.  They do it behind their backs of course but the mentality is there--and it's the same mentality you have Jessica--mean spirited.

Of course not all reps fall into this category but you've illustrated perfectly by your outburst of wrath toward dissatisfied customers that you are one of them.  I feel sorry for those who will only see your nice face as you persuade them only to find the REAL you when they have a problem with Itworks.  IT'S YOUR FAULT d**n IT!  I SAID IT EVEN WHEN I DIDN'T EVEN USE THE PRODUCT SO I'M DARN WELL GOING TO SAY IT NOW!

Comical.

Don't forget to print out your statements Jessica--it'll be a great marketing tool for you.  :)

Research Before You Buy, Instead of Blaming Others

AUTHOR: Stephanie - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 09, 2013

It Works distributors make it very easy to purchase wraps or other products individually to try them out! If you are thinking about enrolling in a program in which you must purchase products every month, wouldn't it be a good idea to make sure they work for you first? The wraps do work for some, and of course like anything else on the market, they do NOT work for others.
I know that when I was looking into becoming a distributor, I was very intent on making sure these products worked for me before I made the commitment. And since then I have seen them work well on so many other people. I even have testimonials on my personal website from people that buy directly through me.
You could also change your monthly shipment when you saw that the wraps weren't working for you, and if you were so concerned about not being charged $50 to cancel that you decided to just continue purchasing a box of wraps every month at $59 plus tax and shipping, why didn't you change your order to something less expensive to try out? We have a product that is only $23!
But, I guess my main argument is that you signed up to be a loyal customer without reading over the policies and guidelines, yet you want to bash the company for having those policies. Do your homework before attaching an automatic payment for something to your credit card! It isn't the company's fault that the wraps didn't work for you, or that you didn't try them before you made the loyal customer commitment, or even that you didn't read the contract you were signing when you decided to enroll in the "loyal " program. You should really think hard about where the fault lies, because I can assure you, it is NOT with the company.
I really think you're just one of those few customers that the wraps, unfortunately did not work well on. And you're taking your frustration and disappoinment out on someone that does not deserve it. I see that you didn't research all the rules and guidelines before becoming a loyal customer; did you educate yourself on the tips and guidelines for getting the most out of your wrap experience? i.e. drink lots of water, eat healthy, don't sweat while or immediate after wearing the wrap, etc. There are many reasons why the wraps might not work, usually the number one reason is that someone who is very overweight thinks they can use these wraps, sit around and eat all day, not drink anything but sodas, and not be doing anything to improve their health, and the wrap is just going to magically make them skinny overnight. These wraps are just like anything else, you have to be committed to getting healthy and making the necessary changes and you have to stick with it. You can't expect one or two wraps to change your appearance completely.
This is a very ignorant complaint. I can't believe you would even say these things out loud, and not feel completely ridiculous for trying to place blame on someone else when the blame so cleary is on the customer for blindly attaching their credit card monthly to a product they don't even know is going to work for them or not. If I were you, I'd be a lot more careful next time you sign up for some type of automatic draft.

What ever happened to 100% money back guarantee?

AUTHOR: No Dog in Fight - ()

POSTED: Saturday, April 06, 2013

I do not have a dog in this fight, however, I have a friend who reached out to me about these wraps and decided to do a bit of research. My questions is:

1) If the company is so successful (Inc. 5000, Success Magazine, etc,...) then why don't they just provide the customer with a "100% money back guarantee if not fully satisfied with the product?"
It would make things a whole lot easier for everyone! No reports, no negativity, etc,...

I just lost tweve pounds and 4 inches in 9 days with a toxin cleanse purchased through another company, that offers a "100% money back guarantee if not fully satisfied with the product" and all you have to do is return the empty canisters/ products and you will be refunded, no questions asked! I could not turn this guarantee down!! If all companies carried these policies, there would be no "Rip-Off" report!

Also, for future purchases, NEVER use your personal banking card! Go to Walmart, load a Walmart Money Visa/ Mastercard  with the money needed for initial purchase. If you are satisfied and want more product, simply load the card the next month for auto-ship. If not satisfied, call the company and ask them if the call is being recorded for quality assurance (Note down the time and date), then let them know you do not want to be part of any future autoships and are cancelling your future shipments because you were not fully satisfied with the product,  and have no need to change the autoship order for any of the other products, and cancel your debit card.

You don't have to be a loyal to try the wrap's. Use your brain and try it for $25 before you lock yourself in for 3 months of auto ship. I use the products and love them. Everyone's body is different so it may take more then one wrap to see results but that's why you can order them in a pack of 4. I have lost 1 pants size in 12 days ( 4 wraps) all naturally using IT WORKS  products and swear by them. I also like how you posted all the quotes from the sight. They dont hide anything. Sorry it did not work for you.

Employee Rebuttals Scared Me Away from the Product

AUTHOR: meggy91281 - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 05, 2013

Congratulations! All of you crazy, cult-sounding It Works employees have basically proven that the author of this complaint is justified in her dissatisfaction with the company. You all sound so desperately negative, nasty, and unprofessional that you have officially frightened me away from this product.

Who wants to deal with a company that would insult you and jump down your throat if you happen to be dissatisfied? Do you see any businesses or service providers on Yelp attacking negative feedback? No! Because it's bad business practice, and it makes a company look unprofessional, untrustworthy, and unappealing. Isn't the customer always right?

It would be much more professional to allow the dissatisfied customer to voice her little complaint and if anything, respond "I'm so sorry you were unhappy with product A- perhaps products B, C, or D would have been a better fit for you." But the responses to this complaint are unprofessional, insulting, and just plain scary. I guess It Works didn't provide you with training in customer service. I'm assuming none of you have held real customer service jobs, because responding to a customer this way would get each and every last one of your fired from any other company.

I'm pissed off because the rip-off report wasn't going to deterr me- the woman was basically just whining about a return policy. But your extreme responses are just unbelievable. Where is the oversight? The website looks legit, but employee remarks suggest that distribution has been left in the hands of raggedy, untrained peddlars and is being remotely monitored by some absentee pyramid-scheme overlord. Ummm eek?

You all have proven that the company DOES stalk the internet for any negative press. It's not far-fetched to believe that It Works cronies are also searching for anyone attempting to resell a product that didn't happen to work for them, but may in fact work for someone else. It Works should hunt YOU all down and fire you one-by-one for portraying the company in such a negative light. If not, then you must be an accurate depiction of the type of terrible business allegedly being conducted here.

Or maybe aggressivness, psychosis, anxiety, and uncontrollable outbursts are just side-effects of this product.  I'm off to search for a more professional wrap provider, and I will warn anyone interested It Works products to steer clear based on the terrible conduct of its employees. Thanks a lot for your help.

Yes grow up!

POSTED: Wednesday, April 03, 2013

Some of these people make childish remarks. I was speaking for every one! Yes, at that point I hadn't tried the product only because I was waiting for it in the mail. I had seen what it has done for people though. No, I am not talking about phony photoshopped pictures, I was speaking from real life proof. Having a person stand before you and show you their results. Yes, I am gonna defend them because people take 1 experience or a handful of rude remarks, and decide all is bad!

I personally know a couple of distributors and they are good people. To further why I back them is I did try their product and I got excellent results. Every one is different and will get different results. As a smoker and poor eater, I still lost 2 inches around my waist and my skin tightened. Now mind you I did't use this product to lose weight due to the fact that I am not overweight.

I did however used it to get rid of my mommy tummy. After 3 kids and being 4'8", I did not have enought room for my children to grow. In result my skin stretched out. So yes, I guess I do belong with this company. I will actually be ordering my package with my next pay check! I wasn't using scientific backing I was stating what is common knowlege. So go home and maybe read a book so that you will actually have some.

Curious--Grow up?

AUTHOR: ideprov - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 24, 2013

I'm reading a particular post on here that claims people need to "grow up!"..  I went on to read the author defend Itworks products(which she admittedly hasn't tried yet) and condemned those who had less than favorable experiences with the company--either with products, customer service or even their recruiting tactics.  She went on to to say, "grow up a little people."

All I will say is I think you would be a great fit for this company.  It is ironic however, that she stands by and even tries to give scientific backing to support a product she has never even used before.

To me, it seems this is a "sizzle" product that can potentially give someone a boost toward thier weight loss goal.  The obvious point is these same people will give Itworks the credit when in fact it's their new lifestyle choices--eating right and exercising, which is the long lasting cure for substainable weight loss.

I have no idea why people defend a quick fix product which can potentially cause harm to its user..?  Why not promote eating right and exercising which has zero negative side affects?  The answer, in my opinion, is it's a marketing scheme--a money maker.

GinaD, I Want To Help

AUTHOR: AlishaJoy - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 22, 2013

GinaD,

It is very unfortunate what happened to you in regards to changing/canceling your order.  As far as I have expereienced, I've always talked to a live person when calling both the Distributor lines and and Loyal Customer line.  Thankfully, your post here was fairly recent and I would love to assist you with amending your order or canceling it properly if you are truly unhappy with the products.  Additionally, the person that signed you up should be in communications with you an a semi regular basis.  I follow up with my customers regularly because they're not just a number to me.  I sincerely want to help them fall back in love with their bodies!

Gina, if it's not too much trouble, I would definitely like to assist you in any way that I can.  PLEASE send me an email and I will give you my contact information to better serve you and help you on your health journey.  Here is my email alishadugger@yahoo.com.  If anyone else here would like to get an issue resolved, I'm always open to trying my best to help.

As far as some of the rude comments here, it's a tad dramatic.  Like most products, results will vary with each person.  It is important for every Distributor to sit down and chat with their potential clients to see what their current lifestyle is like, what their goals are and how fast they are looking to get there.  Some people would do a lot better if they weren't just a number to some distributors.  It is ALWAYS inportant to read ANY contract that you sign, especially when giving away your financial information. However, there is nothing sneaky about the program.  Everything from the product charges, the cancelation charges and the restock fee are on the paperwork that you fill out PRIOR to ordering ANY product.  The beauty of the Loyal Customer program is that you don't HAVE to choose the same product every month.  You can get the Skinny Pack one month, then the Stretch Mark cream the next and just the FatFighters for the final month.  The longer you stay with the program, the more loyalty rewards you recieve.....FREE SHIPPING being one of those perks BUT you have to make it past the 3 months.  Additionally, we as distributors pay the exact same prices that you do......shipping and taxes included.

I can def appreciate the frustration of some people on this board but you have to break the cycle of just signing your name and read the info that is given to you.  But also Distributors need to make sure the effort is being put out and telling these folks EVERYTHING.  No gimmicks, no lies.....just let them know up front what they are getting in to.

Again, I am open to helping anyone that would still like to change/cancel their current autoship.  Stay positive everyone and things will work out.

Alisha

Unhappy Consumer

AUTHOR: GinaD - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 20, 2013

I just wanted to add my experience with the company and the products.  They didn't work at all for me.  I was never told that you can't cancel your auto shipments online, that you can only change them online.  So when I wanted to cancel the kit, I thought I did the appropriate steps online, but just received an email thanking me for my purchase.

None of the numbers on my email worked when I tried to call to adjust my order.  I just received busy tones.  The number for corporate will not let you speak to a live person unless you already know their extension.  After several tries, I finally got through, only so that I could wait on hold for 20 minutes before a rep came on to speak with me.

I was told that you cannot cancel auto shipments online.  You have to call...and hope you can get a line that works...and be able to wait 20 minutes to speak to someone.

I was told that even though it says my order had not shipped yet, that they could not cancel or change my order.  I had to get the kit, keep what I wanted and pay to return the rest.  Also there is a 10% restocking fee.  Awesome!

I agree this is a scam.

Physiologically Impossible

AUTHOR: bethh - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 15, 2013

Come on:  "The wraps bake the fat", so the distributor of ItWorks!writes.

This situation is impossible and laughable.

There is only one way to lose weight- your kcal intake must be less-than your kcal output.

The wraps may help your skin become softer and you may lose water weight through your skin, but this is a temporary condition.

There is no magic.

Our internal organs and blood are sterile.  This "toxicity" thing is all bullcrap.

Our kidneys, liver, and intestine keep the body de-toxified.  This is among the many miracles of how beautifully and perfectly humans are designed.

If our bloodstream or organ becomes unsterile, or "toxic", our system will react by the immune system  increasing our body temperature in order to kill the bacteria, virus, fungus that has invade our sterile internal organs and/ or blood.  White blood cells and the lymphatic system also fight the infectious invaders.

Many times, our immune response can kill the invading agent and we get better.  If it is a case of viruses, this our  bodies must take care of the viral agent, or die.  Anti-biotics do not kill viruses.

If we are toxic due to a bacterial infection, our body will react with an elevated temperature as nature's way of killing the bacteria.  Since humanity now has developed anti-biotics, we can now add these agents to our bodies to either kill the bacteria or prevent the bacterial cell from replicating.  These processes are called bacteriostatic (prevents cell replication) and bacteriocidal (kills bacteria).

Our bodies, when not being compromised by viruses or bacteria, are sterile- all of the body fluids and organs, and blood, is sterile.

If you are toxic, as these pseudo-science wraps and pills wish eager consumers to believe, our immune systems plus anti-biotics, if indicated, will take care of the offending agent, or we will die if these things cannot be accomplished.

Wrapping your belly in fabric impregnated with herbs, spices, and whatever else is in these things, will NOT detoxify you.  This is scientifically ridiculous and untrue.

If you like the wraps, go for it;  it will not hurt you.  You'll lost water, NOT FAT from the area wrapped.  It is very temporary.

YOU ARE NOT TOXIC!  Your kidneys, liver, and intestines take care of that.

Again, if you like the wraps, good.  But don;t believe that it has anything to do with "toxicity" or that you'll be sweating away any toxins while being wrapped.

The company makes the most-stupid claims, and takes bank that most people actually will believe that they are internally toxic.

You do not have to believe me, although I am a physician.

Look up the information yourself!

Learn about normal anatomy and physiology when someone selling pseudo-science makes outrageous claims- like losing weight by wrapping your belly.

No one over the age of eighteen should believe this;  adults with the most-minor education in biology know that what ItWorks claims is NOT consistent with reality.

If you want to lose weight, eat less and exercise more.  I have perused ItWorks page and all of their items for sale make false claims.

Americans seldom, if ever, suffer from mal-nutrition.
Unless you have had  blood studies that indicate that you are deficient in a particular vitamin, which is usually not a primary condition, but related to a medical problem or syndrome, you do NOT need special vitamins, and none of them is going to help you lose weight.

The exception is during pregnancy and lactation when supplemental vitamins are recommended due to the taxation on the mother's body by supporting an other human.

ItWorks really does not work.

Diet and exercise, not magic.

The most-successful weight loss plan in the Western world is Weight Watchers.  It has been around for over fifty years and focuses on reduction of intake and exercise to increase metabolism.

Of course, all of you readers KNOW this.  Now stop wasting money on this ridiculousness!

I am not a member of Weight Watchers nor have I ever used their program for weight loss.

I am of a healthy weight as I eat right and exercise.  There is really no short cut, and you (yeah- YOU) know this is the truth.

YOU ARE NOT TOXIC!

For those of you that have complaints about a company, maybe you should have read into the product. I for one just made my 1st purchase off of ebay, yes I said that right EBAY! I have been doing my research and I also know people that sell this product. I will also include I know a few people that have used the product. Now as many have stated the product does not work for every one. I have heard a few people did not have the best results but did love the product and the services they recieved from the company. I have also gone to school for cosmetology. I have studied in all natural products and use them in my every day life. Now I will tell you I am a real person. I am a mother of 3 ages 4, 3, and almost 2. I am 25 and married. I am a stay at home mother. I have not used this product yet but I will be as soon as my product comes in. As soon as I get my product I am ready to use it. I am excited for this product despite all of the negative comments I have seen. I know as well as most of you should that every body is different and handles food and different chemicals differently. I read up at the top that water helps detoxify your body, yes that is true, but to encourage your body to detoxify faster essential oils and other products will help as well. Water can't just do all of the work. Vitamins, oils, diet, exercise, and water will all be a huge help in getting the body you desire. Now with all of that said I am 4'8" weighing in at 110lbs. After using one wrap I will get back to all of you and let you know my experience. Shame on those of you that feel you have anything to say after you have never even used the product. Even though some of the reps should have handled things better but they have every right to defend their company. Some of you people have decided just because there was a few bad comments that all of them were terrible people, I saw a few of them apologizing for your bad experience and were as kind as could be. Some of you negative people should be ashamed of yourselves for being so rude and biased. I agree with another comment above stating that some of the bad reviews could have been from people that just expected to sit there and just do 1 wrap and miraculously be super skinny and amazing looking. I only say this because half of America is lazy and expect things to be handed to them on a silver platter. Not to include you have to put into something as much as you would expect to recieve from it. So if you expect to be model skinny and have a perfect body, then get up and do something about it. You want it bad enough then prove it!

It Works is not so bad

AUTHOR: Nanette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 13, 2013

It is true that the body wraps may not work for everyone.  There is no such product that works for "everyone".  I have tried the wraps myself and found them to work very well.  It is just like working out at the gym.  You can not go to the gym once and expect to get the results you are looking for right off the bat and you have to continue to go to the gym to maintain the results that you do accomplish.  The same goes for these wraps.  You must also be committed to drinking a lot of water as well.  The water flushes out the toxins and plays a very important roll in the end result.  The wrap ingredients continue to break up toxins and assist in detox for the next 72 hours.  So, it's guaranteed not to work if you don't drink the proper amount of water.  The recommendation is up to half your body weight in ounces per day.

As far as the loyal customer agreement goes, it is true that there is a three month minimum to become a loyal customer and get the discount.  There is also a $50 early termination fee, however, the truth of the matter is that there are other products that can be purchased aside from the wraps.  There is absolutely NO LIMIT on how many products you have to purchase or how much money you must spend.  You can purchase one of the lowest priced items in the product line at just $23 (Fat Fighter) plus tax and shipping, and you would still be considered a loyal customer.  After the fourth month of loyal customer status you then get FREE Shipping on your monthly order for LIFE!!! I recommend going to a wrap party or hosting a wrap party and trying it first before you sign up to be a loyal customer.

It Works Global also grows all their own ingredients and is in their tenth year of growing organically.  The company's crops have been monitored every six months for the past ten years and they will have their USDA Organic stamp by next year!!!  So you see, It Works, is not so bad afer all.

Bad for business

AUTHOR: Tacoma - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 12, 2013

I was reading some of the comments from employees and I have to say, I would be ashamed to have you as employees. Rather than offering solutions to a problem and rectifying the situation. You are blaming an unhappy customer and making agregious claims. Maybe the complaintrnt id as well however, you should be trying to make your business and products look professional. You shouldn't be making yourselves and the company you represent looks like jerk offs.

By reading your replies, you lost a potential customer. Honestly, if I want to sell a product that doesn't work for me, I have every right to do so. You trying to stop me or anyone else, is harassment, even worse for business because one unhappy customer that you failed to try and communicate with, is a minimum of ten lost. Better business would be to do what you can to help said customer.

Regards, Lost customer

This is in a response to who wrote  #58 who attempted to make the person (me) who did write #56 look, um, well ignorant.  I am NOT going to bash the the other beyond this point of their Osmosis statement.  Except for stating, perhaps if you feel I need to go back to high school, then you should sign up too heck maybe we can carpool.
There are 4 basic layers of skin; Epidermis-top layer, Basement Membrane that separates the Epidermis from the Dermis. Dermis-Middle Layer, and the Hypodermis/Subcutis -Bottom layer.

Epidermis: Forms a protective barrier over the body's surface, responsible for keeping water in the body and preventing pathogens from entering. As well regulates body temperature.

Basement Membrane: controls the traffic of cells and molecules between the dermis and epidermis. Also acts as a storage of particular chemicals for allowing the skin to heal after being injured or growth.

Dermis: It is this layer that has the Blood Vessels The nerve endings, Sweat Glands, Hair follicles.  It is why your skin stretches.  Because of the Blood Vessels or Capillaries, anything that does make it past the Epidermis gets collected up and sent to the bodies waste disposal. ie Liver and Kidneys.

Hypodermis:  In all reality, Is NOT a true layer of skin.  It is however where the "Body Fat" lies.  50% of ones body fat is in the Hypodermis or Subcutis layer.

Okay Osmosis is more involved in ones digestive system than for the skin.  Yes there are "patches" that provides Either Pain Relief or help one get over a nicotine habit.  I can only hypothesize that there are more chemicals that allow the properties to be conveyed to help one in what is used.

Saying that 45 minutes (as per the wrap instructions) compared to 4 to 6 hours or longer for a pain patch, if you will, does the same. No it won't, without stating the obvious.  What "Detoxifying"  properties in the cream that is applied prior to wrapping  IF it makes it past the Dermis layer is so minute, it would be like throwing a softball size water balloon on a 5 alarm structure fire.  Not going to do a d**n thing.

Last points I want to state, One cannot "Burn" fat.  In fact once the fat cell is created. it will always be.  The only way to rid oneself of fat cells is by surgery.  However you can through exercise, empty out that cell making it smaller. This is provided by monitoring your calorie intake versus energy expended.

Stated it before, and will again.  P. T. Barnum once said "There is a Sucker born every minute." However his humbugs only cost a Dollar.

I would first like to say that your commitment to your product is commendable. That being said, I think that's as far as I would go with a complement.

I'm glad you believe in what you sell, however, the manner in which you conduct yourself is very unprofessional. As a company that relies on their distributors to circulate their product I would imagine that your accusatory tone and rudeness would reflect badly on the company and they would prefer you take a different approach in defending their product or maybe just be a customer.

Maybe the company should monitor the distributors of the products to make sure their reputation isn't tarnished by someone who has clearly not been taught how to conduct themselves when faced with a negative comment. This is a shame.

I am a distributor for It Works & I am appalled by some of the responses here. :( I do have to say though, I can speak for my entire team when I say that I have never met a more caring and genuine group of people in my life! Unfortunately, there will always be people in ANY company, especially those that don't have "tradional employees" or an interview process, that will fail to represent the company in a professional manner. I do understand that when you do believe in something strongly, it is very easy to get offended by negative comments but responding in a hateful way is certainly not "the It Works way". I am very proud to call myself a member of the It Works "family" even though I have had negative encounter with a distributor from another team within the company. Please don't judge us all based on a handful of faceless comments. There really is a ton of info available that allows each customer to do their own research and thats exactly what I did before joining! I am more than happy to share my personal story, results and even answer any questions! Just contact me through BrittneyBabb.myitworks.com. :) So sorry (on the behalf of It Works) for the hateful tone displayed here & I hope you all will use this info to form your own educated opinions & should you choose to give it a try, I hope you get the opportunity to experience the same boost of confidence that I have found!

Not Surprised

POSTED: Friday, March 08, 2013

I'm not surprised at the rude, condescending borderline abusive language used by Itworks "employees"...  I challenge all of them to use their responses in this report as a marketing tool for new prospects.  It will never happen.

What's strange to me is the over zealous attempt to discredit, dehumanize and berrade people who'v had less than good experiences with the product and or customer service related issues.  It's a cultish mentality that drives many, many people away from MLM.

I've had experiences with Itworks.  One person tried to recruit me then a month later tried to recruit me to another business.

Another experience was on a conference call.  It was religious with prayer etc..  The funny part is one guy giving a testimonial told those who were going to "blitz" to "not get discouraged" if someone rejects you.  He said, "just think to yourself--'OK stay fat!"  I thought to myself--what happen to the prayers?  LMAO

I can't comment on the specifics of product effectiveness or billing/customer service issues.  This thread howerver, goes far beyond the nuts and bolts of the MLM world and Itworks in particular.  Their are mean spirited people in Itworks.  If I were the owner I would not be proud of my distributors commenting on this board.

Now go play nice to your new prospects and customers--then come back and put on your real face and let the venom flow.

I haven't even read through them all yet, but have witnessed one employee talking about the people being "lazy" if it didn't work for them, and another claiming people are "stupid" for not reading all the fine print first. That in itself will prevent me from giving this product a try. I was invited to attend a party coming up, but no thanks if this is how you represent the company.

I want to add, that if you really think someone is stupid for falling for your company's antics, then what does that make you for standing behind them?

AUTHOR: concerned consumer - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Your rebuttal to the original post is that as a Loyal Customer you don't have to pay AS MUCH, but downgrading to a lesser product. If the product doesn't work for a person, why would they want it for less?

Obviously, people should never sign up for a "lifetime" product when they have no idea if it works, or not. However, a business is not ethical at all when they give costly options for opting out of a product that they believe in. If the company stands by their products and believes in them, why make it so difficult for the very few (which it would be if the company is right) to get out of it? Stand by your product, if you believe in it!

POSTED: Wednesday, February 20, 2013

I too am a distributor. Just like with anything in life, a few bad people can really reflect on a company. This makes me sad because of what these products and what this company have done for me! From the first wrap I tried, 3 months after my baby was born, to the all natural supplements, I have had amazing results. I wouldn't be a distributor if these products didn't work. As far as the wraps are concerned, those that are using one wrap and not seeing results, should try a full application, which is 4 wraps. One wrap doesn't show what this product can do! I have so many customers who are seeing amazing results...remember that the wraps are not for weight loss, but for tightening the skin! We do have all natural supplements for weight loss of that is your goal. Tone, tighten, firm...great for stretch marks and cellulite, bottom line, that is what the wraps are for. Just like with any beauty product, you have to do maintenance. I wrap once a month - that's it! These products have helped me live a healthier lifestyle by giving me that little boost I needed! I am sorry some of you have had a bad experience. Most reps are not pushy salespeople, just people that are sharing because they love the products! :)

WOW.... I see some really rude comments here. I joined as a distributor after I tried it as a retail customer and liked the results. Pushy-- there are some distributors that are pushy, I am not. I always tell my potential customers to try a box retail if they are unsure or let me wrap you for $25 for a wrap. I also tell them that one wrap will NOT make them barbie.  And water weight.... I have personally had some great reults.... you do not sweat this out. My skin is firmer, my stretch marks are fading and looking great. we do not claim inch loss, because not everyone will lose inches. It's a side effect of the wraps.  We have other things besides just the wraps if anyone is interested.  And to the comment of exercise & diet is the only way to lose.....  I have exercised & watched what I eat for years.... can't get the scale to budge it's frustrating. With these products I have been able to shed some pounds, not fast overnight crazy, but at a nice even pace. If you want to see some great result pictures, stop by my fb site and look around. www.facebook.com/wrapsbytonya  I'll answer any & all questions, just ask! And I'm NOT pushy

My first wrap garnered me a whole inch. Total. It was depressing.. but after another one I saw significant results. Everyone is different. Don't clump everyone into a pushy category, I'm a terrible "salesman".. the wraps just sell themselves. I never tell anyone to sign up as a loyal customer without having them try it first.

I looked into the company and contacted a couple of different reps-they were all very pushy. I believe the company teaches them to be this way. Why, I have no idea. It doesn't make very good business sense to me. My friend let me try hers and I didn't get any results at all anyway. Of course, every distributor on here wll probably start telling me I did something wrong and it was all my fault. Whatever.

I went and bought a couple of the Lucalean wraps and was very impressed with the results-astounded would probably be a better word. They don't have distributors so everthing is very one on one with them. And, as an earlier poster mentioned, thw company owners are so nice.

Don't get stuck with a bunch of expensive wraps and a long term contract. Just get what you need that works and in my opinion people would be much better off leaving this It Works company alone.

turned off by unprofessional distributor comments

AUTHOR: lc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 14, 2013

I was attempting to find reviews on this company, especially the wraps. I'm not convinced they work any better than a water pill and I'm quite sure all someone would loose is water weight, not fat and highly doubt this product destroys fat cells. I'm all for loosing water weight, though, because I tend to retain a lot but not sure this product is worth the price.

However, after reading distributor /employees responses to this report, I am totally turned off. Most are rediculously unprofessional, as if most of you have never had a job or done any type of business that required professionalism and customer service skills. Plus, sounds like a real headache and even more money out your pocket to return something.

Way too inconvenient in my opinion. I have come to the conclusion I will go to a spa to try something like this. At least they go through a selection process to hire qualified candidates and have customer service standards. Some responses were sensible. Good luck to those of you who actually represent this company in a professional manner. I'm so not going to try anything from this company, though.

Not smart enough to make a living

AUTHOR: PCRAIG71 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, February 10, 2013

I get so tired of people trying to bash companies reputations because they have nothing better to do. I refuse to waist my time reading all of the posts because one person has to be ignorant. I look at this report to see if I can gleen any intelligent info on why not to trust a business. From what I have gathered here your gripe is that you cannot sell the product you feel stuck with because it didn't work for you and if you do the company will shut your account down. It seems to me that if you wanted to be in the business of making money selling this product you have an option to be a distributor.

Since you opted not to do that the company has the ability and i would say the obligation to its paying members and distributors to not sell them to you at a wholesale or reduced price. They obviously cannot keep you from selling them as the law clearly states, but they can and should remove your ability to get them at prices reserved for different level members and distributors. So as I see it you can sell them as you like and regain your money out of pocket and if sold at prices that any other non member would have to buy them your profit would clearly offset your $50 fee.

At that point you should be at a wash or profit and should be happy your out. You seem to be the type that clearly does not understand how a business runs successfully and will not likely be successfull yourself because you don't have the ability to think outside the box and solve problems. Cancellation fees are in place to offset expenses incurred when people change the flow of things and labor or resources are required to readjust the flow of things. I wish you the best, but it is clear you are dangerous. I currently have no affiliation with this company and I must say your complaint did nothing to deter me from further checking out their product and possible opportunity.

biology

POSTED: Thursday, February 07, 2013

Guy above me... Perhaps you should go back to biology, or possibly try some chemistry? The ingredients as stand alone ingredients would do absolutely nothing, but together they break down the toxins in your fat cells that are just below the skin. did your teacher ever tell you laying your head on your books does not cause you to learn by osmosis? Same concept dear.. the skin is thin and permeable, doesn't take a lot to penetrate the incredibly poreous cell.

The saran wrap does absolutely nothing, use an ace bandage, or some spanx, or hey just use the wrap, just be still.. it moves, which is why Saran wrap is used. The $50 cancellation fee is a membership fee, such as sams club, or Costco... They as you to pay $50-125 up front just to shop there and get the wholesale price..There is NO minimum purchase as a loyal customer. Don't be silly, why would they lose money so you could cheat the system? It keeps people honest. There are legit reasons to cancel, and our customer service takes them case by case. Next time try the product BEFORE you sign up bc u want to save a few bucks.

All of you negative people have to realize #1 you didn't get the way u are over night, and #2 sometimes it takes MORE than one wrap, even more than a box... Maybe you should fix your diet, try detoxing from the inside.. we promote a healthy lifestyle, eating a double cheeseburger after you wrap isn't gonna give you great results... Be honest with yourself! If you want a better body, then stop trying to do quick fixes. Our products work as an aid in body contouring. Don't blame the wraps bc you're not ready to actually work on making yourself look and feel better.

It Works inch loss

AUTHOR: Bizgrl - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2013

I am a distributor. I tried the product first, and I did research first before joining the company. I have an understanding of mlms and have sold a number of products in the past.

Ok, lots of things going on here. The wraps do work. Detoxing is a practice that is well documented as beneficial. I bloated the first time I used the wrap. I was not living a healthy life style. As I used more of the nutritional supplements and got the toxins out of my system, I saw results with the wrap. The wraps tighten firm and tone the skin. I have had 4 children and have seen progressive results. It is site specific. People use them to tighten slack skin. I think everyone will experience different results from this product because no 2 people are the same. I personally recommend to my customers that they try the products before becoming a loyal customer. Try a wrap, or try the Greens. I sell it to them from my inventory so they have no commitment. If they like them then I suggest they become a loyal customer. That way, no one feels pressured into a commitment. If someone does not want a product I have reimbursed my customer for the product, in the case of in opened product that they ordered by accident. Yes they could return it to the company but I want to make it as easy and painless as possible for my customers so they have a positive experience. This has only happened twice. I do not sell products or recommend anything that does not work. Period.

I was not even interested in a business when I discovered It Works! I was looking for good supplements to support my health issues and hopefully lose weight. I used the products and decided that I wanted to join the company after I had great results with my health. I have wrapped many times and have documented my results, even the times I bloated in the beginning.

Weight loss and health are not something that just happens, you work at it. These products are designed to support that.

There are four wraps in each box, 4 wraps are one full treatment. 1 wrap is a quarter treatment. I have talked to many people who did not see much result wise until their 3rd or 4th wrap. Then I had one customer who lost 3 inches right off the bat. Again, everyone is different. What we put in our bodies, and physiology. I think the original post is a bit unfair and this person needs more information before spouting off.

For starters lets be realistic okay, There is absolutely no miracle in weight loss.  All this wrap does is make where it is applied Sweat.  I can only conclude that what it does is pull the water out of the Skin, which makes one believe in the Illusion that they are toned and slimmer.
The only way proven for loosing body weight is to examine ones calorie intake, versus the energy expulsion. Combined with a medical underlined exercise program.

Now lets look at the claim of Detoxing the fat cells... This is just plain equine excrement..  Anatomically speaking, it is impossible for anything that you apply to your Skin, will "Detoxify" Fat Cells.  This is high school biology folks.

The Cream Ingredients as per their web site;
Water (Aqua), Glucose, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Alcohol
Denat
., Stearic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 12, Aesculus
hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Urea, Centella asiatica
(Hydrocotyl) Leaf Extract, Camellia sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract,
Fucus vesiculosus (Bladderwrack) Thalle Extract, Hedera helix (Ivy) Leaf
Extract, Equisetum arvense (Horsetail) Leaf/Stem Extract, Ruscus
aculeatus (Butchers Broom) Root Extract, Paullinia cupana (Guarana) Seed
Extract, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Decyl Oleate,
Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 7 Glyceryl Cocoate,
Tocopheryl Acetate, TEA-Hydroiodide, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Menthol,
Camphor, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, Retinyl Palmitate, Triethanolamine,
Carbomer, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus
globulus (Eucalyptus) Leaf Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, BHT.
Limonene, Linalool.

I am concerned about it all however lets look at the 3 that I put in bold print
Glucose,  is simply Sugar and your suppose to "Loose Weight?!"
Alcohol Denat.  This is but another way to state Denatured Alcohol.  Denatured Alcohol is a mid strength solvent, found in Dyes, inks, paints, Industrial cleansers, etc.  I am a woodworker and I use denatured Alcohol.  I wear protective gloves when handling it because it Dries out skin on contact.
Urea. This is the root word for Urine.  It is also a base component for fertilizer as well as explosives.

Yes there perhaps are many "good" ingredients or rather components in this concoction.  Yet you Must examine why as it is the practice to put the most percentage items at the beginning of a list as such.

I will leave you with these final thoughts, The Better Business Bureau of Florida has given It Works Global a "D" rating.  Nor do they have BBB accreditation. Why do they Lock you into a 3 month contract?  Of all the issues that I have seen/read, there isn't a grace period to allow a person to say no, I don't want this anymore.  Yes a $50 dollar cancellation fee.  Personally that tells me that they are in it not to make people happy, they are in it to make themselves Rich on the misery of their customers.
You feel that you're fat, overweight, or just don't have that High school slimness.  Please realize it didn't happen overnight. How do you expect to become thin only after 45minutes.

To Quote P. T. Barnum, "There is a sucker born every minute."  However his "humbugs" only cost but a Dollar.

It Works! Loyal Customer program

AUTHOR: melodysmiles - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 04, 2013

You are correct that a $50 termination fee is charged if you cancel your membership in the first three months.  This is plainly written in the terms of service when you sign up, so it should not be a surprise.  The reason they do this is to save you an upfront fee to join. As you will notice with most direct sales companies, you do have to pay an upfront fee to join their Loyal or Preferred customer programs.  It Works! does not charge an upfront fee; instead, you sign up for a 3-month commitment.

And maybe you did not know this, but you do not have to receive the same product each month that is not working for you.  You are allowed to change your auto-ship at any time to anything you want.  There is no minimum order, like you find with many other companies.  There are many different products that could benefit you, and the Loyal Customer program allows you to easily try different things each month, if you wish.

Also, yes, you are correct that It Works! does not allow the sale of their products except by distributors.  This is to protect the integrity of our company and products.

Best wishes.

It Works! Does it really work?

AUTHOR: justwrapme.myitworks.com - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 01, 2013

I would like to advise everyone who signs a contract to read the terms and conditions first.  If you read the T&Cs you will not be surprised a week later.  By the way, you have 3 Federal Business days to cancel a contract in which you enter into with any company.

I recently became a distributor for It Works!, but this is not what I do for my full time job.  I deal with people all the time who do not read the contract that they sign my company (daytime job).  This seems to be a bigger issue than anything else.  Most people are not upset with the customer service they are upset about the cancellation fee.  All contracts no matter how big or small have a cancellation fee, this is nothing new in any industry.

Why do people just blindly sign contracts?  Most people will say, well I trusted the sales person or I didn't have time.  Those are two poor excuses in my opinion.  How many sales people do you know are selling a product that give you full disclosure?  There are some sales people who have never, I repeat never, read the contract they are selling to the customer in front of them, therefore they "think" they know all of the answers to the customers question about the contract when they ask.  Some are most likely lying, while others really may not know the truth.  At the end of the day you are indivually responsible for each and every decision you make no matter how big or small how great or not so great.  The fact is we are all human and in being human we tend to take the short cut or the "easy way out."

All I can say for the original poster is, maybe this product isn't for everyone, but if you are a good sales person and in this case a good distributor you tell your potential customers this up front you don't make them feel like it will work for each and every person in the same manner.  Now is it possible that if you used 4+ wraps you would have had better results?  Yes, but again that is a chance you take because there is never a guarantee in life no matter what anyone tells you.

The first wrap I used I lost over 6 inches.  I have since used two more wraps, but didn't notice any inches lost.  Why is that?  I am not sure, maybe I drank too much water because I drink about as many ounces of water a day as I weigh.  I am 36 years old, currently weigh 191 pounds and I am 5'4.  I understood that I might not have the same results as the customer next to me and I also knew there was a chance I would gain inches, but that is because my distributor explained these things to me before I signed up.

As for all of the rude and ugly comments that other It Works! distributors have posted or have said this happens in all companies, not just It Works!  If you took a poll of my co-workers at my day job you would have varying answers on whether or not our company is a good company to work for and whether or not our service is a better deal over our competition.  Opinions are relative to the person you are asking and their current mood most of the time.  In every company you have die hard employees who are willing to defend their company to the end of the earth while not taking into consideration their words or actions affect how all customers see our company.  This again is just human nature because we are all human.

I hope that you take what has happened in this case and learn from it for the future.  I realize you may think that is a high price to pay for your anger and frustration, but at least now you know and you will not make the same mistake again.  Like others have said you could have changed your monthly shipments and you could have contacted your distributor and asked him/her to purchase the product from you either for the price you paid or at a discounted price in order for you to have recovered some of the money you feel you lost since the product didn't work for you.

What was the expectation?

AUTHOR: Miss Scarlet - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 31, 2013

I have used the body applicator and other products from It Works. I was appalled by the comments trashing the company. I pulled all materials I was given on the company and reviewed the website.

I am so sorry that the original reporter had such a negative experience, but like with any company, there will always be some employees that do not accurately represent the company.

My distributor told me all about the products, showed me how it worked and allowed me to demo all the products in the product line. My distributor never pressured me to buy any of the products and I knew I was going to a "wrap party" before I entered the room.

My distributor also told me that there was a slim chance that I may not see results and explained how the body can be acidic and unable to utilize the wrap appropriately. He gave me options and educational materials on how to maximize the results of the wrap- that had NOTHING to do with trying to sell me products.

I lost 2 1/2" on my first wrap. My host lost 10" inches off her abdomen in the 72 hours that the wrap continues to work. One guest did not see results. The distributor gave her a sample of the "greens" to help her body become alkalline (She had great results with the 2nd wrap and is now a distributor).

My point is this, it depends on the distributor and correctly provided information.

As for shipping, I've paid $7.95 shipping (for 2 boxes of wraps and fat fighters) and I've paid as little as $3.95 for an order of ThermoFit.

It is Extremely important that Everyone understand this:

At No Time Does IT WORKS claim That ANYONE will lose inches from the body wrap!!

The website and print materials say the applicator "is designed to Tighten, Tone and Firm in as little as 45 minutes".

And it does.

What was the expectation? Use the wrap and have a 6-pack in 45minutes?

Someone commented on the employees coming on this site and "jumping on the writer". That is because they believe in their product and the employees, truly have a "family" type relationship. I know this product provides hope for a lot of people, of course they are going to comment.
Would you be so willing to fight for the company you work for?

The suggestion is to be realistic- know that your results may vary, that there is no miracle and that an educated distributor will give accurate information

First of all, to Chelly above, I don't believe her comment was toward you.  I believe it was about the other person that hyphenated "uneducated!"  Your comments were actually very polite and professional ;)

Anyhow, I posted above a week ago.  I reported that I wasn't sure if they would work for me or not.  However, allow me to pose an analogy to anyone who is unhappy with these products (or any product they decide to try/buy):

Doctors often times will recommend Tylenol to patients to relieve pain.  Well, I will tell you, Tylenol does NOTHING for me and I prefer to take Advil if I have a headache or something.  So, does that mean they should take Tylenol off the market?  Does it mean that the creators and manufacturers are crooks?  Does it mean that the doctors that are prescribing it are being irresponsible by prescribing it?  If I buy it and it doesn't work for me, do I deserve a refund?  Hopefully you can see where I'm going with this!  Even if the Doctor is "pressuring" you into buying it, is that his fault if it doesn't work for you?

I am just saying that everything doesn't work for everyone.  It doesn't mean that people should stop making it, stop selling it, stop recommending it or stop buying it.  We, as responsible consumers just have to know that if we buy something and it doesn't work for us, that we just chalk it up to experience and move on.  It is VERY nice if a company will refund you, but it really isn't necessary.

That being said, like I said above, it's been exactly a week since I tried the wrap.  I am 43 and I weighed 141 last Saturday night when I did the wrap.  My measurements before the wrap were 32/35/37 where they tell you to measure.  My measurement the next day were 30.5/33/36.  Today, a week later, my measurements are 30/32/35.  I have lost a total of 7 inches in a week (as per those measurements).  I weighed 138 this morning.  Now, is that only because of the wrap?  Most likely not.  I have been juicing with my juicer and have been exercising; not more than I normally do, I was just pointing out that it is most-likely a combination of all these things!

Anyhow, to anyone who is "for" or "against" these products, I wouldn't be so offensive or defensive.  You're not going to look like Adriana Lima over-night! And, since I'm only 5 ft. 2 and a buck 40, not to mention I look nothing like her, I won't look like her EVER!  But, you know what?  I feel better today than I did a week ago.  I hope that the results continue to show.  I will let you all know when I do the wrap on my legs!!!

Happy Sunday everyone.  Peace ;)

POSTED: Sunday, January 27, 2013

Really..you are going to nit pick my spelling on Customer? But if you were referring to me misspelling the it works slogan...I literally meant It worked for me.  I did do research on the product.  FYI...and i could care less about all the crooked CEO's out there.  The product is like any product you buy out there...you either buy into it or you do not.  But since you are an exception to this...then you must be special, and own literally nothing.  This product only works for some..and maybe it does not really work...maybe it is my mind telling me it does...therefore; I lose the inches and the lbs.  Either way, I am getting the results.

Absolutely Ridiculous!

Wow. I personally tried the wraps twice. The first time, no results. The second time, only half an inch. I was very disappointed. But you know what? I honestly did not do what I was told, eat well and drink lots of water. I also have a large amount of stomach fat deposit- which means lots of toxins. I started on the detox products, greens and it's vital and regular at night. I dropped 10lbs in 3 weeks and have so much energy! I actually threw my other vitamins in the garbage. by the way, I weigh in at 220lbs and have always struggled with the weight. I am so amazed by the level of well being I have reached in 3 weeks, that I am now hooked- I will never go back to anything else ever. In fact, I have become a distributor myself. I have learned that if you clean the inside, the outside will take care of itself. As for the complaints here, you were told up front what was expected of you. You did not make the effort required for the change. There are thousands and thousands of people who love It Works! because it really does work. There will always be a handful of "debbie downers" who cry wolf, no matter what the internet offers up.   http://cherylc.myitworks.com

I wrote about being a new costumer earlier this week.  After reviewing the content of being a loyal costumer, I spoke to my representative.  She told me I could choose to be a loyal costomer or not be a loyal costumer..the choice was mine.  She told me that if the product did not work that she would buy it back from me.  But then she said.."It will work for you"..  I purchased the Shinny pack which included the wrap and the fat buring  pills.  So far since tuesday..I have lost 4 inches  and I have lost 2lbs without changing my diet.  It may not work for everyone..but it worked for me.  And I am extremely excited.

Always know exactly what you're getting into

AUTHOR: educate yourself - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 20, 2013

I recently tried the Ultimate Body Applicator.  I was amazed that it actually DID work, but, I followed the instructions and I lost 4.5 inches overnight.  I drank lots of water the next day and it stayed off.  I also eat right, I "juice" and exercise regularly.  My regular weight is about 138 and I am a size 6-8.  I am of "muscular" build.  My size 6 clothes fit better and my stomach was flatter after the wrap.

However, did I really think that 4.5 inches would stay off FOREVER?!  NO!  Then why would ANYONE need to be a "Loyal Customer!"  If one is realistic, he/she knows that products like these are short-term quick-fixes to use;  knowing that if it does work, it's not like you will go from being a size 14 to a size 4!  The only way you can do that is to eat right and exercise forever!

I just began using the products and realize that I have to be a "Loyal Customer" for 3 months.  I purchased 2 sets of wraps and some of the scar/stretch mark cream.  If I like the results the next time I use them, I will continue to purchase.  If I don't, I will just order some less expensive items for my next two shipments and then cancel.

My advice to anyone that wants to try this would be to pay the full price of a box of the applicators (there are four) and split them $25.00/each.  That way, you and four friends can try them and you do not have to make a commitment.  The woman I purchased from is a friend and I tried my first one for 25$.

I am looking forward to seeing if these products continue to work.  I am not a huge believer in quick fixes anyways.  I don't go on "diets," I don't sit around and "hope my fat away," nor do I blame anything or anyone else for being a little out of shape other than myself (btw, I have no thyroid)!  People think there's a huge secret to weight loss.  I found it!  Is it "itworks?"  No!  It's called "get off your butt and get that donut outta your mouth!!!"  But, the Itworks products may assist and I know for sure the Ultimate Body Applicator did make me look pretty good in my dress last night!

Good luck to those the It Works company and to any of their patrons.  I will report back in a couple of months :)

First of all distributors will wrap you one time for $25-$30 so you can see if the wrap works for you before you sign up as a loyal customer. After you sign up you can change your order any time you want, they have other nutritional products priced as low as $23. These vitamins and other supplements would'nt be a waste of money. As always the details of any contract should be known to you before you sign up. This information is readily available in this case and the distributor you're dealing with should tell you the details.

My own (unintended) experience

AUTHOR: Tammy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 07, 2013

First off, wow wow wow-to all of you who are making such rude comments about the initial poster....I would say that It Works would surely NOT want you representing their company in such a rude and disrespectful manner. However, I have had my own experience with a couple of their reps and I am starting to wonder if this is just business as usual for them....

I'll explain. I've used the Lucalean Wraps by Lucaco for about 5 years (for all of you interested in a quality product and a company with great customer service I highly recommend you try these wraps instead-I'll include a little more info at the end of the post). These wraps are made fresh and in small batches so the shelf life is only about 6-8 months. I have lost and maintained about 50-60 pounds and countless inches over the past few years just using the wraps alone-I still do monthly/bi-monthly wraps for maintenance if I start to feel a little "bloated." Anyway.....a couple of months ago I realized I had a couple of jars left that were getting close to expiration and I knew I wouldn't be using them so I listed them on e Bay. I had the company's permission to do this. Within 24 hours of listing it I had nasty emails from 3 different users saying things like "you aren't supposed to be selling these." "Don't you know you aren't supposed to be selling our wraps on here?" "You better read your contract." Blah blah blah. Unsolicited emails that were very rude and smart-**sed.

I was confused at first-I emailed all 3 people and they never emailed me back. None of them were selling anything and I had no contract so I had no idea what they were talking about. Finally, one of them emailed me after about 3 weeks and said you aren't allowed to sell It Works Body Wraps on e Bay. I emailed back and said well that isn't what this is-it was VERY clear in the auction that it was a different brand and at that time I had never even heard of It Works. What followed was a profanity filled email from this one user that called me everything under the sun. I forwarded this to e Bay and filed a report, of course. I don't know what happened to the user but I made up my mind to sit down and do a search of the company when I had the time (which I finally sat down and did tonight, lol).

I did do a search of the It Works brand on e Bay at that time and there were none listed for sale. Today, there are dozens and dozens of them so if you just have to try that brand I know where you can get a good deal;-) I came across this site and after reading the horrible and transparent responses of the reps I decided to add my two cents because from what I can tell (and I apologize if this doesn't apply to you), the reps are all nasty and rude. Maybe not-that is just my experience.

The Lucalean wraps are much cheaper ($24.95 for an 8 ounce jar that has enough for at least 3 full wraps). It's an apply and wrap formula and there is no minimum order, FREE SHIPPING and a money back guarantee. You honestly won't ever find nicer people to do business with. No distributors/reps. It's just a direct sale company. And they work. IMO I would never do business with this company because their representatives have left a very bad impression on me (not to mention they are so dang expensive)!! I just had to post because those emails made me so mad and when I read the responses on here I got angry all over again....whew, I feel better now!

no need to spend hundreds as loyal customer

AUTHOR: Connie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 18, 2012

First of all if you're not sure you want to commit to 3 automatic shipments you can purchase any of these products at retail price with no further commitment. There are plenty of distributors who will either apply just one wrap at retail price or sell to you one to use at home. If you have signed up as a loyal customer and don't like the wraps, you can change your autoship product to something else that's cheaper. They have great nutritional supplements. Several of these cost $25-$30 each. Just complete your commitment of 3 autoships with a less expensive product then cancel.

Quick fixes are short term!

AUTHOR: L2012 - (Australia)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Wraps are a quick fix to losing inches and is short term and you need to use religiously with gels etc it does not help lose fat!
It's the same concept as sitting in a sauna. When you wrap yourself up so tight of course your going to lose inches this is from sweating out all the water, hence having to drink lots of water when using the wrap because you lose a lot from the wrap.
The wrap is temporary not life changing I used it and its not for me, I lose more eating properly and training hard I also found I lost more inches in the sauna in my shorts and tshirt in 45 mins then the wrap lol
But good luck to those who swear by it, you might lose weight or inches but you definitely don't lose fat that comes off with clean eating and training hard less than 30 mins a day!

What a scam!!! Don't buy ever!!!!

AUTHOR: Badchoices - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2012

This company has covered the a*s in every case to scam you put of money. As it already states on here that they tell you that you can't sell the product that you purchase unless you are a distributor.

This company needs to realize that either refund all the ppls money or gaurantee your product. You can't stand by a product if you can't gaurantee it. You say everytime you answer your calls that "it's my goal to make you smile", if that's so then why aren't we are smiling.

I returned my product and then you guys decide to tell me that I only get a small fraction of my money back because it didn't work for me and I didn't finish the 3 months of auto ship.

No one should by this product. All you really need to do it eat properly and excersise this isn't going to be a long term thing. You have to keep spending your money to continue to get the results. So they win? They get to keep taking all your hard earned money so that you don't need to excersise. Come on guys.

Their service sucks, they try to blame you for their mistakes. They is no true customer satisfaction, all they care about is taking your money.

You want to do a wrap that absolutely works with full garurentee? Try going to a spa and pay $150 for the full body contour wrap that ACUATLY works. They garurentee it and if it doesn't then you can get a free one or your money back.

Don't ever buy something that the company can't garurentee. It they can't then you should know that something is wrong.

I was misinformed about HOW I was to change my order from auto-ship. So, as a result I was sent my previous order and my current chosen order. My biggest beef was that I had explained the problem to the representative, and she initially stated that they would waive the overstock fee, but when I talked to another representative she agreed that I can pay for shipping and handling to send the package back, but I will also have to pay for overstock. I concur, the loyal customer agreement is a RIP OFF!

In addition to that, I signed up for the $59 ultimate wrap package, and they still sent me the most expensive $69 package. I am elated that this is my last committed month, and they never have to worry about my ever patronizing them again!!!

Very Sorry

AUTHOR: Darcie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 03, 2012

First I want to start by saying, I am a Distributor for It Works Global, I started in Nov 2011. I am a Diamond Distributor, and Growing everyday, But I did not get where I am by poor Customer service.

I first want to say, to the person who made this report, I am truly sorry for your bad Experience. The person you signed up should have worked hard with you to make you happy. They should have told you straight forward about all the "Fine Print" I know I dont know your story or what happened, but I know it was not good, and you are unhappy.

Let me explain, how I run my business as an It Works Distributor. First and most importantly, The customer comes first, Their needs come first, and they need to be treated as a Person, not just a buck.

When I talk to someone about our products, I am straight forward about how Everyone is different, and just because it worked on one person does not mean it works on everyone, There are many factors the play in to if they have good or noticeable results.  I sit down with them, and go over ALL of these factors to see if the wraps will work on them, or if I think they would get better results with something else, and by that I mean, I dont try to sell someone products that will not work for them, I will not push or try to get them to buy the Packages, just so I make a buck! We go over, what their goal is, what they want to change first, whether that is weight loss, or toning and tightening. I will strongly advise against a product I dont feel will help them.

Once we come up with a plan, and you try the Wrap first, then we come up with your customized plan that will work for you! But it dont stop there, I am constantly following up with ALL of my customers, I am seeing if they are happy with the products they chose to ensure they are happy, I do not just sell anyone a product, or sign anyone up and just "Leave the picture" We work together, I help give them the motivation to help them change their life styles, and help them get the best results possible for them.

There are way to many distributors out there that are just in it to Take your money and run, and you never hear back from them, and most of the time you are never even given the information you need or the steps that need to be taken when using the wraps. I am constantly getting messages from unhappy customers from Other distributors, and I do work closely to them, and I try to make it better. I have given several "On the House" wraps and products to people who have had bad experiences from other distributors. I didnt have to, but I chose to, because I truly believe that if you believe in a product, and care about a customer, you will do everything in your power to make a bad experience into a positive one.

In a Direct Sales business, there are to many people that are to Pushy, inexperienced, poorly trained, and only out for the Money. It irritates me, Especially with this company, It Works does have amazing products, they have great People, and services, but not enough of them.

I work Extremely hard as an It Works Distributor to be truthful, honest, caring and trained. I train my distributors on my team to be very respectful, trained, and caring also. That is why I have such an amazing Team. But that is also why I have Hundred's of happy customers, I dont have them because I hand and run... You have to sell yourself before you can sell any product, you have to prove to someone that you are the right person to help them, that you are educated, trained, loyal,  and truly care about them, and I do.

So again, I am very sorry to you, and to anyone that has had a bad experience, whether it was with a product, distributor, or It Works customer services.

Also, just to tell you a little about why I am as compassionate as I am, I believe in the products, I have had huge results with the products myself, I have lost over 18 inches with 5 wraps, HONESTLY. If I didnt have the results I had, I would not be where I am at today. I was The biggest skeptic out there, it took my daughter in law over 6 months to get me to even try a wrap. But it was the best decision I have Ever made. It has truly changed my life, physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially!

I wish the person who made this report were my customer, I would have make things right! Again, I am very very sorry for you bad experience. anyone can email me if you would like, dshubbard@nntc.net. I would love to help you!

Incorrect and Misleading Information Given

AUTHOR: annarainey - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2012

I am a distributor for this company and I want to make some things clear that this post is leaving out.  Please please please read this before making a judgement call.

1) You can try our product any time you want prior to making a purchase so you act as if you "ended up" with something that didn't work for you b/c you were "tricked" into the program. You could have paid to try the product once, twice, or an unlimited amount of times and if you were not happy then you didn't have to sign up.

2) Our loyal customer policy is one page and comes up HUGE when you sign up.  It also has a link to easily save as a pdf.  It is not complicated AT ALL.

3) As stated in another post, we have products that cost 15-23 bucks so you could have ordered those and avoided the fee.  So to say you were wrangled into something that cost you hundreds is a TOTAL FALSEHOOD.  You can change your products monthly.  When you signed up you KNEW you would have to buy something for three months.  If you didn't like the wraps, you could have easily changed your order.

4) There is actually free shipping on orders over 125 and after three months as a loyal so again wrong info.  Also, the shipping and taxes do not equal anything near what you say even when your order is less.

5)  This is a wonderful company, with a wonderful system of people!  When you want to contact the company there is a number you can easily call and get an actual human w/out telling them english/spanish or anything like that!!!! They are amazing and eager to please.   They will cancel your auto-ship for you with one request and do it nicely.  And not just that but if you cancel the autoship but fufill your three months you will get 45% off forever!  That is a great deal, not the scam you act like it is.

6) This program is not about "LOOPING OR TRICKING" people.  It is set up so the company pays the distributor directly so the customer can get an amazing price without having to be a distributor.  It is set up this way to avoid everyone that wants a price break just signing up as a distributor.  We focus on training and the products are amazing.  I have personally seen amazing things done for people's entire lives and health from using these things.  The company saves on advertising b/c we do it for them and therefore they can put money into product development.  Making our products better by head and shoulders to anything you can get retail.

7)  They should and do legally have every right to stop you from selling the product if you are a loyal customer. They have a right to cancel your membership and not allow you to do that.  IT PROTECTS US, THE DISTRIBUTORS.  It also protects our brand.  And it is also in that loyal customer agreement very clearly that you won't resell your products. apparently you didn't read that either.

8)Your words: "They also would not penalize people who honestly wanted to give their product a try,and found that it didn't work for them.  They would not charge these people $50 for not wanting to continue to pay for a product that does not work for them!  This is a scam.  Please Beware."-- LIES:  You CAN TRY THE PRODUCT!! For retail!  So for $25-30 you could have tried the product!! The problem is that you said you wanted to be a LOYAL CUSTOMER.  Meaning you get the product for 45% to 50% off and in turn you agree to get SOMETHING/ANYTHING NO MINIMUM PURCHASE From the company for three months.  You got the product for $50 off. Therefore, if you don't live up to your part of the deal you are charged $50. AKA the original retail price!! NOT A SCAM. That is what you are trying to do by cancelling.  Scam the company.  You are not wanting to pay retail of 100 dollars, so you pay a loyal customer price of 59 and then call and cancel. therefore the company is out 50 dollars.

It Works! Body Wraps are Not a Scam

AUTHOR: Read the fine print - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 04, 2012

I am sorry you lost out on your $50 fee, but if you signed up on the website, you must have read the loyal customer agreement, and checked "I accept" before you proceeded to checkout. If you had a rep that introduced the products to you via a wrap party or a one on one consultation, then your rep should have explained the loyal customer agreement. You can get ANY products you want during your three months. You dont have to be subjected to just wraps, as you stated. You have a choice of a one time purchase as a retail customer for $99 or a loyal customer at $59. It could be that you were clouded by the lower pricing and just clicked "I accept" before reading further. That is not the fault of the company.

Just like any whole sale club, there is a membership fee. Some charge $30-$50 per year for discount prices. But if you get three consecutive months of ANY products, then It Works! waives that $50 fee. You could have ended up with youthful looking skin products, cleansers, toners, wrinkle reducers; maybe its dietary supplements to help you lose weight, burn calories or block fat that you just ate; perhaps you could have chosen the anti-stress supplements, muscle builders to help reduce belly fat and increase muscle mass; maybe looking for relief for your achy/arthritic joints; looking for a new protein shake or protein bar; looking for a gentle detox to alkalize your system and purge the daily toxins; or is menopausal relief what you were seeking? Either way, we have so many products, that you were not subjected to just getting wraps. Our products range in price (individually) from $23-$79. You could have easily purchased some products and would have spent LESS than the $50 fee.

Shipping is also not $9. It is $3.95 for our loyal customers, unless you spend OVER $100, then its $8.95. Where else can you get products delivered to your door in a week, for less than $4? With It Works!, you can get that. Plus you only get taxed on non-edible products: wraps, facials, skin care products. All of our other products are supplements and you DO NOT get charged tax on those products.

And you are correct about selling the products as a loyal customer. If you get caught selling them, they will terminate your orders, and will charge you the $50 for cancelling. Only distributors/reps have the right to sell, as they paid for a fee to sign up and have the right to sell and follow certain protocols. However, if you were unhappy with the product because it 'didnt work' for you, then you should have contacted your personal rep and tried to work out an exchange for you. Maybe a different product or maybe you didnt use the product the right way the first time, or didnt drink enough water when you wrapped. Either way, there were so many options that you could have used, before blasting this company.

I think you need to do your homework a little more before slamming a successful, debt free company. For a company to only be around for 11 years, and be debt free in 6 years, it says something about the products and the people that use them and sell them.

Our wraps also show results on everyone that uses them. 100% of our clients will see tightening, toning and firming of the skin in just 45 mins. They will also be detoxing in the process, and that doesnt always equate to inch loss or weight loss. It equates to increased energy levels, sleeping better, and just feeling better overall. 90% will see a loss after 45 mins and will continue to see progressive results for up to 72 hrs later. Those results will last 2-6 months. 5% will get the 'toxic bloat'. This isnt a bad thing, it just means you are very toxic (smoking, drinking, exhaust fumes, paint fumes, pesticides on foods, horomones in meats and dairy, etc) and every person's toxicity levels depend upon their liver and kidney functioning. They will bloat in 45 mins, but after 72-96 hrs, they will purge those toxins, and will most likely show a loss, greater than their original size when they started.

It Works! does not hide anything from their customers or distributors. They all get emails from our corporate office about new products, new pricing, new trainings, new sign up specials, and new policies. However, their policies have pretty much been the same over the years, because those policies work and they keep both the customers and the distributors honest. I wish you had a better rep or that you read the loyal customer agreement before signing up as a loyal customer. I think this blast from "telling it like it is" may have encountered human error (on themself) and needed to find an out to blame this on someone else. You must have bought this online without trying it, because if you did order wraps, after doing a party, after it 'didnt work' then you are to blame for buying a product that 'didnt work' on you. I think the hype and the special pricing roped you in, and you neglected to read further about the products and agreement. Shame on you. :(

I was looking into "It Works" because I was thinking about purchasing them for myself. But after coming across this Ripoff Report, I have completely decided against the purchase! Mainly due to the fact that the employees felt such a need to jump on this site and go 100% against the person who wrote this report. I mean, It's obvious that there is some truth to what she is saying, and there has to be better ways to deal with situations such as hers, instead of giving them a slap on the hand & just writing them off!
Im a bit suprised that so many employees felt the need to rush over to this site and try to make the person who wrote the "Ripoff Report" seem as if she is lying. I find that to be very unprofessional! Instead of trying to bash someone who had a fall out with a company you have so much invested in, why not try and explain to her, and others in her shoes, the options that "It Works" does offer!?! Unless there really is no other way around the whole deal, without the buyer having to pay the price, one way or another. To me, I do believe what she wrote and I also agree with her thoughts and opinions of it all!

It Works, yes it does...

AUTHOR: Donna53 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, August 24, 2012

First of all, you should have had a demo first from a distributor.  I am a distributor, and I would have strongly suggested that.  And you should know what you are signing up for.  A 10% restocking fee is a normal amount, and you could have gotten some of your money back.  You could have changed your product on your autoship.  Talk to your distributor; perhaps she will buy some from you.  Offer her a discounted price--it's better than nothing.  Or have some friends try it, at $20 - $30 to try it, if it works for them, sell your inventory to them.

You say it does not work.  Sometimes you just need to detox first.  If you are just looking at inches, you may not need to lose inches.  It does tone and tighten.  Did you drink lots of water for 3 days, and measure after 72 hours?  Did you apply it correctly?  There could be a number of reasons why you feel it didn't work.  And you had a choice, you could have canceled your account, paid the $50, and been done with it.

A box of wraps retails for $99.  You paid $59.  You save $40 on just this one product a month.  If you do your 3 month commitment, you saved $120.  You should have tested it first before you signed up.  And your distributor should have told you that.  What It Works is doing is not wrong or a scam, it's called a Contract.  It worked for me and everyone I know who has tried it.

I'm just researching this product and ran across this ripoff report. It seems to me that if you are going to invest your time and money in a product like this you had better do your homework. If at all possible you should test the product before buying into it. Dont let the fast talking sales people make you do something you might regret later. Test it. Check it out. Look over the company. Look for reviews of the product as well as the company. Let the buyer beware!!!

Rude, Angry, Disgusting doesn't get my dollar

AUTHOR: Slowinertia - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, August 17, 2012

I was honestly considering making a purchase for my cousin who recently had a baby...but i wanted to look into the product first. After reading all this (not the complaints...the employee responses) I goto say i am quite disgusted. You people (and i am sure it's 1 or 2 people using multiple accounts) are rude and at times belligerent. I can clearly imagine every word said by the original author is true cause the person is talking about a money hungry company that cares nothing about customer satisfaction while they sell lack luster products... and your responses show exactly that. At times, you were so condescending and rude I was just waiting for you to start calling the customer's names and bragging on how much money you've made off them.

Whatever happened to the customer is always right. There are ways you can alleviate a customer's complaints without admitting any fault or problems witth the product. For instnace.. "oh that one didnt work for you? here we'll send you another one on the house. if that doesnt work cancel your membership. we'll wave the fee." Poof you have a happy customer.

Oh and management. Writing posts pretending to be customers is bogus. Everyone knows that the  only people that come on sites like these do so to rant about products/apartments/experiences they didnt like. so those rare "oh i loved the product and the service" posts we all know is management. Frankly, i find it disturbing when a company spends more time pretending to be satisfied customers than satisfying customers.  This is simple PR/customer satisfaction stuff. I suggest someone needs to take a few prozacs. Learn to control their temper, then go back to college and learn more effective marketing/business strategies before you get sued.

Oh and ladies, don't buy into this "toxins" mess. The only thing that will cleanse your "toxins" is water and a healthy diet. Your kidneys and liver do just fine on their own. Also, if you just want to wrap your belly into a better shape. Google African Belly wrapping/ Jamaican belly wrapping. That's all you're doing..disallowing your body to build up fat in a certain area by restricting it. The same thing can be done by wearing a Cosette to bed/to the sauna. Only... with the corsette, i am sure you won't get some angry person posting from 9 accounts to a message board telling you  to "read the fine print" and "stop lying".  I'm just saying.

We have the ability there to do INSTANT refunds, not this crap of up to 14 business days, oh and most of the time that "Supervisior" you are talking to is not a sup just a rep they give the calls too.  There are over 10 supervisiors there the program manager that NO ONE speaks to ever is CODY, the so called  Trainer is Terry.  ASk for them for once.  IT works has told this call center to not give reunds and or cancel orders.  They want you to believe that you have to accept them.  the wraps may work but this company is making BILLIONS off its LC and for every socalled presidential diamond there are hundreds that do not get a dime.

You do NOT need to buy only wraps if the wraps do not work then you can ALWAYS change to another product which you have COMPLETE control of since when you sign up as a loyal customer they give you access to your profile which you can change the auto ship date and products which are in your auto-shipment, and if you stay a loyal customer for more then 3 months then guess what ..you get FREE shipping and shipping is usually 5.95$ to be exact, if you paid more then that it was because you CHOSE the option in which to get your package faster then standard shipping.

I am an It Works! Distributor and i have to say i am appalled by the false information you are putting out about our business! I am sorry you had a bad experience but that does not give you a right to degrade our products and business model with your false information!

I am sorry if you had a bad experience but that does not mean the product is a rip-off.  First of all, who signs up as a loyal customer without first trying the product?  I paid only $25.00 to try the product through a distributor and along with several friends got to see the results for myself.  If you think you can put on a wrap and lose weight just like that without making lifestyle changes, you are looking for a pipe dream.  I tried the wrap because I had a wedding to go to and the sleeves on my top were too tight.  1 wrap and a week later that problem was gone!!  My daughter tried the wrap because she had a presentation to give and was self conscious about her belly-it did an awesome job and only 4 days later her self confidence was at an alltime high as she stood in front of a full conference room for her presentation.  Be realistic in your expectations and you probably will not be disappointed.  Do not invest "hundreds of dollars" in something you read about on the internet and decide to try.

POSTED: Thursday, June 28, 2012

1st, I want to apologize for your bad experience. Our customers are informed or should be before becoming loyal customers that there is a $50 fee for becoming a loyal customer. This fee is waived if after 3 months if you continue as a loyal customer and purchase something from the company. This could be anything.

If the wraps don't work for you, tell your distributer. Perhaps you didn't drink enough water, or you needed to user more than one. Work it out with the distributer you signed up under. If they still don't will for you, I would suggest letting your distributer buy the remaining wraps from you. Order something else.

There are plenty of other products to order. There are products cheaper than the wraps, all you have to do is order one product a month. This company is not a scam. The products work. The company's goal is to help you be healthier not scam you out of money.

Fair and Balance Opinion

AUTHOR: amyb7997 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, June 15, 2012

I am replying to this because I feel your statement is unfair, biased, and unbalanced. Not only am I self-employed in the direct sales market, I also have an A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies and have been around the legal field for a majority of my adult life and in my teens (I am in my 30's). I would like to repeat a phrase mentioned below, "buyer beware". They do state that "it does not work for ALL people", it however;it should work for those who are actively trying to be healthy. That is the information that I received from my distributor and from doing research on the company.  If you are using the wraps and eating/living an unhealthy lifestyle then you are not going to get what you put into it. Also, for legality, as an adult; you signed a contract. Never sign a contract without reading the fine print and being an informed consumer.  As a distributor, I am saying that you always have an option to change your auto-ship products at ANY time. I'd also like to ask, did you at anytime consult with a distributor or customer service in a polite and constructive conversation? As a consumer of It Works products and every other "regulated" product in every store, and a majority of legitimate online business I know that I have to pay taxes on everything I purchase. I go to the department store, I have to pay taxes bases on my county's tax rate. Why? Because every "legit" business has to pay taxes on its income. As far as a restocking fee, it is actually quite common to pay them for walk-in and online stores. Usually it's anywhere from 8-15% I've had to pay my fair share of those, as an informed consumer who reads the "terms and conditions" I like to know what I'm being charged for and what return policies are. As far as not being able to re-sale your products, that is in a sense called "piracy". The applicators are a proprietary, one-of-a-kind product that only the company and it's authorized distributors may sell. Much like Beach Body, the sellers of P90X and Insanity. They (BB) is also very aggressive about monitoring the sales of its products. You can't just burn a work-out to a disc and sell it, that's piracy because the product is licensed and copyrighted. It's a felony. I firmly believe that  It Works! is not a scam. They want to uphold the dignity of the company and the products. It was explained to me that if used effectively, the products should work for most people. I'm sorry you had a bad experience and I do not know the entire story, I'm just giving my own, independent opinion. My opinion has nothing to do with It Works! Global, I have not stated anything that is "official" company policy or opinion. I do not speak for the company in writing this statement. I just felt that maybe a fair, balanced, and logical opinion could be posted.

Truth & False information

AUTHOR: deshock - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, June 09, 2012

I am going to go ahead and tell you what is actually correct, and what is incorrect.

FALSE:

1. "They also charge $9.00 for shipping". It Works! does NOT charge $9.00 for shipping... I look at accounts, and orders, and actually place quite a few orders every day. The lowest shipping I see is FREE for purchases over a certain amount on a loyal customer or certain Distributor's accounts.... but besides that the shipping I see MOST often is $3.95. And the HIGHEST shipping that I see is $8.95. It all depends on where you live... that should be obvious. The further you live from any of the warehouses... the more it will cost.

2. this report states "If you don't cancel, then you end up with A LOT of Body Wraps that have cost you A LOT of money" FALSE. You can change the product(s) on your autoship at ANY time... if the body wraps do not work for you, you can try one of the MANY different products that It Works! has to offer. Currently, I hear a LOT of good things about the Greens!

3. This report states "Customers who cancel their membership before the three-month minimum commitment has been fulfilled will be charged a $50 early termination fee on their credit card on file. "  Let me explain. YES, there is a $50 fee if you cancel your autoship before the 3 months. This, however, is not a termination fee... it is a membership fee. The $50 makes you a loyal customer, ensuring that at ANY time you can log in (or call) and buy the products at the Loyal Customer price (instead of retail). Once you ARE a loyal customer, you REMAIN a loyal customer... even if you don't receive an autoship. Same goes for if you get the 3 months of autoship and THEN you cancel it... you have become, and will REMAIN a Loyal customer. I would also like to state that it very CLEARLY states that you are signing up for the 3 month autoship, or the $50 membership fee when you sign up... If you chose not to read that, that was your mistake.

4. This report states "This product does NOT work for everyone." That is correct... as with all beauty products, people's bodys react differently. This is why It Works! offers a variety of different products. They don't just sell the wraps... The wraps are just their most popular item. If you set yourself up for an autoship with the wraps, and they don't work for you, you can CHANGE your autoship to a different product.  In My personal experience with the wraps (as a 5"7 135lb female who had a child 15 months ago at the time) I did not see any loss in inches. I DID, however, see a significant reduction in the color of my stretchmarks in 45 min.

TRUE:

1. This Report states "You will have to pay for ALL SHIPPING COSTS.  And, you have to pay a RESTOCKING FEE of 10%." This is true when you return an item. There are a few exceptions, but 95% of the time, this is true. I personally don't like this either.

2. This Report states "You are NOT ALLOWED to sell your unused product." This is true. But think about it, if everyone Tom, d**k, and Harry could buy the product and then sell it, that would make it very hard for the Distributors to make money selling the product, and it would also make it hard for them to sign Loyal Customers under them. If a Loyal customer bought a product, and sold it to a retail customer for UNDER the retail price, there would be little reason for other people to sign up to become Loyal Customers. Eventually it would be pointless to become a Distributor, and a lot of people would be losing their jobs... Yes... for some Distributors, It Works! is their only source of income.

Also... look at the wrapper of a candy bar that was sold in a multiple pack. I bet it says "Not individually wrapped for resale" (or something to that effect). A LOT of companies work similar to this.

In conclusion... this is NOT a scam. Any autoships, or fees are CLEARLY stated when you sign up as a loyal customer and when you purchase a product. By signing up you are AGREEING to the terms and conditions. If you failed to read that, then that is your fault, not the company's. They aren't hiding anything from you. You should ALWAYS read what you are signing up for!

"REALLY WORKS". I got in contact with a seller that was local to me. The first person i spoke with was very pushy and tried to get me to sign up ASAP with out researching or telling any information about what the wrap was and how it worked. I was a little discourage and changed my mind. After a few months of dieting i shed some weight and i needed to tone up some areas so i thought i would give it a test run and see what it was all about. I used one wrap. The first day i lost 4 inches in totally from my stomach area. By the 72 hour mark i had lost 8 inches. I have before and after pictures to prove. I found it to work for me. But i wish there was more information on the packaging. directions and side effects. Most of all how it feels after you put it on. It does burn and smells really strong. But i used plastic wrap to secure it from moving so the smell was hidden.  So far the results have been good! Good luck!

Take responsibility for a change...

AUTHOR: Britt1310 - (United States of America)

I find it very frustrating that people think it is ok now to blame an entire company for their own stupidity.  If you "clearly" did not read the terms BEFORE you committed, then that is YOUR FAULT.  If you did not follow the simple instructions or allow your personal distributor to show you or help you, that is YOUR FAULT.  It is time to take responsibility for your own actions instead of always looking for someone else to blame.  Its pathetic.

If you were told up front that it may or may not work for you, then it was YOUR CHOICE to go ahead and commit to being a Loyal Customer.  You were warned and you still took the risk.  Stop blaming others.  Educate yourselves with the law...its obvious that you all are just ignorant.  As a distributor for this company, I can say that I have had great success with all of the products.  I tried a wrap for $25 first and it DID work for me so I decided to commit.  You obviously have no common sense if you didnt try it before you bought it when you were openly given the chance!  What other companys give you a chance to do that?  lol...you are just ridiculous and I feel sorry for you.  You are obviously looking for some sort of miracle weight loss where you dont have to do ANYTHING at all and you will just wake up thin and healthy.  Stop looking for hand outs and grow up...

Wouldn't Want You As A Distributor

AUTHOR: kmac - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, May 11, 2012

I have tried the wraps and I did follow ALL directions and it did not work.  Does it work for some - maybe.  I will say that the response for an It Works distributor that makes a comment to someone who the wrap did not work for says, "If you want to be lazy and continue eating everything in site, the wrap will not work for you.  NOTHING WILL WORK FOR YOU!  You will continue to be unhealthy person you were before you tried the wrap.  The wraps work, the vitamins work, and the company is a great company to be a part of."  Where did the original poster state that she was lazy and ate whatever she wants?  I would hate to buy anything from that distributor because if it does not work you will be accused of being lazy and she will make whatever excuse to make sure you know it is your fault that the product did not work.

I do know of a girl who believes the wraps worked for her because she has lost 4 inches in a month; however, in the next breathe she states that she started walking 4 miles per day and watching her caloric intake.  Is it really the wrap that cause the inch reduction - I guess I am skeptical because she also started to exercise and eat healthier which we know will cause weight loss.

I have started a "real" weight loss program that requires me to watch my calorie intake and fat gram intake and I work out 5 days a week.  Guess what I am able to lose the inches and weight.  The program I am on is at an university and is based on scientific research dating back to 1993.  I have not been able to find any scientific research for these wraps.  As with most diet supplements and wraps, these are not regulated by the FDA.

I have bought two packages of itworks bodywraps, BOTH times i was charged $73 & $74, but yet my receipt says $71 so watch your amount charged when you buy, if that is a issue with you aswell.
i'm not quite sure why these ladies are saying the shipping is only $3? if thats true then why do my receipts say it was $10 each for a small back of four wraps?
i did not lose very much on 3 wraps so far, i used them EXACTLY as it says on all the websites i read, i drank about 2 liters of water, did not wrap so tightly that i sweat & unlike what #10 rudely assumes, i do not eat junk food & i only drink water, i'm a single 19 year old BUSY mom & i'm quite active, i hope i lose weight on the box of wraps i am STILL waiting on, because only 2 or 3 days ago it finally said it shipped! i bought them on april 27th & it is now may 11th.
the tracking number is not working so i'll never know when i'm going to finally get it & i live 40km from my post box office so i can not afford to pay for gas to check every few days.
i personally have lost more weight taking Cellan pills, but sadly ran out & am still waiting on my new bottle.
if you are having 'constipation' weight as one of the employee's said, then use 'nature leaf slim tea', i had those bloating problems & lost a very noticeable amount of weight in 3 months! just don't eat after you deink it & do not over use it, i would buy it at 't&t market' in edmonton, alberta.
the cheapest thing i saw to order on the loyalty progam was $23, called 'advanced formula fat fighter' but you have to ALWAYS remember the $3-$10 shipping charges & the taxes, so it will probably be most likely still not as 'cheap' as the employee's are saying.
my advice? take the customer's opinions & research the product, BEFORE you take the payed-per-loyal-customer employee's opinion.
i do not think this product is right for the ladies who just want to lose 'a couple inches' as my very tiny sister used one of my wraps & lost 1 inch, so she cannot buy the product as she only wants two wraps but as they say on their website, i cannot sell her two & i do not want to give away two as they cost me $19 a wrap.
the wraps work good on stretch marks & firming your skin! my stretch marks from having my 18 month old son were already disapearing qute fast, but just 3 wraps already made my stretch marks disapear a bit & also made my skin tighter, my sister even notice my tummy does not sag or bloat as badly as before.
with itworks body wraps, you are paying for QUALITY & it's most likely not going to make you go from a size 12 to a size 4 in 3 wraps. weight loss takes time & patience people!!

Think before you commit. . .

AUTHOR: jsmith10683 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, May 04, 2012

I would just like to add that if you were a smart buyer you would have avoided this in the first place. I will be trying It Works body wrap next week. Key word "trying"! Most consultants will let you try a wrap for $25-$35, they wrap you themselves so you know how to correctly use it. I want to try the product before I make a rash decision to have money taken out of my account for three months in  a row. IF the product works for me I will then consider becoming a loyal customer. Of course there is a shipping fee, and of course they don't want people getting discounts on their product and selling it off without becoming a representative. What business WOULD want you to do that? I would advise anyone to try a product before committing to it, this goes for anything. Paying 25-35$ for one wrap is still a big savings because you don't have to purchase the whole box.

It Works..

AUTHOR: Elizabeth44 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 25, 2012

I'd like to start by saying I am not a loyal customer or a distributor for It Works. I did attend an informational meeting last night 4/24/2012 for distributors and guests.. Everyone is given the oppertunity to purchase a wrap for $30 to see for yourself if it in fact will work for you.. I paid the $30 and tried the neck wrap.. My friend tried the belly wrap.. Having the wrap on for 45 minutes was painless, she did have us drinking plenty of water to help flush out the toxins and while the wrap was on a distributor explained everything about the company.. She did in fact explain that if you sign up to be a loyal customer you are obligated for three months or your penalized $50.. What you didn't include in your complaint is that there are plenty of products to chose from, there is no minimum that you have to order.. You can change your auto product to vitamins, drinks, lotions, ect.. Also after I think 4-6 months of auto ship you get free shipping and handling for life.. With that said I personally saw an improvement in my neck last night and think it looks even better today.. If people tried the product first before becoming a loyal customer then they could have saved themselves a lot of grief.. I normally do not like auto ship anything but I'm seriously considering becoming a distributor because I truly believe this product does work and is great for women and men who don't want invasive surgery..

It works Distributor

AUTHOR: wohlersjenna - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Hello,
I was just wondering have you used the wraps yourself? Did you use a measuring tape? And if so did you follow all the directions given? There is no scam here! Four come in a package for a reason and depending on the toxins in your body will determine your inch loss. Does this work for everyone? NO. and that is clearly stated when buying the product. I don't know of very many company's that don't charge restocking fees these days.

And as for reselling the product become a distributor and you may do so. And as for the $50 charge if you stop after 3 months which is clearly stated would be what you would pay to cancel. Instead of them charging you to be a loyal customer they give you a chance and if you don't care to be a member you can stop you membership after you have given the products from the company a fair chance!

What a joke...

POSTED: Wednesday, April 04, 2012

This website will let you post anything, without checking the facts.  I could file a report that my donut doesn't have enough powder on it and file it under Hostess.

Your "First Off"  - Okay, your point is about the cancellation fee?  This is clearly stated when someone signs up as a Loyal Customer.  You even post that they clearly state this on their site!  Would you rather them not?  Now that would be shady business.  NEXT!

I am sorry that you are trying to get out of paying taxes.  Good luck with that!  As far as shipping goes, your information is outdated and there are different shipping prices for different products and also free shipping for Loyal Customers after 3 months.  Get your facts straight..you can edit your report at any time.  NEXT!

Again, do your research if you are going to post things like this.  If you read over the Loyal Customer Policies and Procedures, you would see that you can edit the products you choose at any time!  You do not have to end up with a bunch of wraps.  As far as a restocking fee if you want to return and item, if you look around, many businesses have this same policy.  You aren't telling us of some 'scam'!  LOL

Of course you are not allowed to sell unused products if you aren't a distributor.  Why would you even want to?  You do not have the rights to sell the product, nor are you paying TAXES on the products or profit that you make, like a LEGAL distributor does.

Really, this is just a ridiculous post, you are basically saying that the company gives clear information to their potential Loyal Customers and Distributors before they sign up!  Again, they aren't hiding anything - these are their policies!  If you said you didn't like the policies, that would be different, but instead you are trying to push it off like it is some scam.

This company has MANY wonderful products, they were listed in INC Magazine as one of the top 5000 growing companies and they are in Success Magazine this month (April 2012).  Good try at trying to bring them down, but most people know that anyone can put anything on this website...just look, there is a complaint for almost every company out there!!

If you would like to sue someone, you will be broke by the time it is all said and done.  Because if It Works is a scam, then everything else in this world is too.  You better sue Walmart, Best Buy, GNC, doctors, the people who make your prepackaged food, and the list can go on and on.

You have a choice to buy or not buy products every day in this world.  You get zero garuantee that what you are buying will work or do what it says it will do.  You might as well sue soda companies for putting the word "diet" on their products.  There is nothing in diet soda that is healthy for you.

So your ridiculous claim that because it may or may not work for everyone is a scam is bogus!!  We do have a wrap you can try before you buy.  The price is upfront, its discounted if you sign up for 3 months.  If you do not want to buy for 3 months, no one is holding a gun to your head to sign up.  You can pay full price for the product.  The company didn't promise you will be anorexic thin or be able to save yourself from eating the whole bag of cheesy puffs.  If you want to be lazy and continue eating everything in site, the wrap will not work for you.  NOTHING WILL WORK FOR YOU!  You will continue to be unhealthy person you were before you tried the wrap.  The wraps work, the vitamins work, and the company is a great company to be a part of.

When you decide to change your life and your narrow mind, then call a distributor near you and have them put a wrap on you.  Call them and buy 4 wraps from them.  You'll find they will do it!!

I am a distributor with IT WORKS and some of the things you are saying are true you do get a $50 charge if you cancel early before the 3 month period you are committing to as a loyal. There is the option to not sign up as a loyal which is the more expensive option but you don't have to do the 3 month autoship. Some people just pay the 25 or whatever to have the distributor wrap them once a month or week. The option to buy retail or have someone come and wrap you are both the more expensive option but again you skip being a loyal and giving up your credit card.Whoever your distributor is should make that clear and I say this atleast ten times. When I sign someone as a loyal so there is no misunderstanding I go over this several times. Also you are able to try other products and go online to change your autoship each month if you feel that the wraps don't work for you. The wraps don't always show a major difference for everyone in the first couple of wraps. You have to follow the steps and leave it on for the full 45 mins plus drink water to help you detox. Some people have to do more than one wrap and you would also want to do a before and after pic cause sometimes you might not be able to see it unless you take a pic. Also the shipping was $8 now the lowest shipping is $3.95 so that has changed since august.  I suggest you give the company another chance and I know that every company is not perfect and there are scammers out there but this company definitely is not.

Most companies charge you a membership fee of $50 or more to get the prices that the distributors get. They are waiving it so that people get a full 3 months out of the product. During that 3 months they can get any 1 item it can be the cheapest thing the company has to offer. After the 3 months the customer can either stop ordering, continue to order and if they want to try anything again down the road there will be no shipping charge. It doesn't cost $9 to ship, it's $3!!! I know a lot of people that have been doing really great with these products, the wraps, the vitamins, etc. I am one of the people! I have lost inches and kept them off, I take the vitamins along with my husband and daughter and we feel better than we ever have! Honestly, I thought something like this would never work, had people asking me several times to try it, refused, and then I met a lady that lost over 12 inches in 3 weeks, felt 10 years younger, had less physical problems, so that's when I tried it. This is not a scam! People don't beware!!! It is totally worth trying!    nicolewrapsit.myitworks.com  Anyone have any other questions reach me at my website I'll get you the real answers!

You did NOT tell the whole story

AUTHOR: marilyn - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Hey Tell It Like It Is! How many wraps have you used? Did you follow the very easy instructions completely? See if you have and your distributor helped you correctly, you would have found how toxic you are with the questionaire given. You would have found which products to use, how, and why.

Sounds like you only used 1 wrap, drank NO water and used nothing else. Everyone IS different. Therefore everyones body reacts different. If you are very toxic, have medical issues liked constipation, then you need to use regular along with 2 body wraps per week. Now have you done that? The natural ingredients help detoxify and break up fat cells and you drinking lots of water flushes it all out. Seems like you didn't follow the proper steps on using the products correctly.

Furthermore you sound more upset because O M GEE wow you had to Pay taxes, ummm don't we all! Oh and let's not forget shipping, how did you expect your products to get to you? Also you do get FREE shipping on certain orders and also IF you stay a loyal customer more than 3 months. You also failed to mention the awesome customer perks that you recieve! Customer perks allows you to get Free products!

Every agrement has a cancel fee, you are told before you sign up and it is common sense that there is one. You also failed to mention that you can change your autoship each month. If you used the wraps correctly at 1-2 wraps per week, drank your water and took regular, and or supplements It Works Global offers and you didn't loose a thing AFTER 3 months, then I can see someone making a comment. After following the program for at least 2 straight months properly, thats when I recommend changing your autoship to the items you want. You can change it though, so if you were not satisfied on how YOU used the wraps, you could have got greens or It's Vital. Those are vitamins and minerals supplements.

It Works! Policy and shipping

AUTHOR: Em B - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 16, 2012

I would like to comment on employee #1's information. I have in front of me my receipt of product that was sent to me just last week. The first week of January 2012. My shipping cost for less than a pound was $8.95.  So, for product that cost me $118.00 between shipping and taxes my total was $134.03. I looked forward to this shipment as this is my third and final shipment in my contract. I think a good lesson here is to read the fine print, the VERY fine print. It can also be misleading because generally we trust the person who is signing ourselves up. It's America and we must ask ourselves,"is it to good to be true?" Unfortunately, the answer is typically "yes!"

Confused by "Breaking the Law"

POSTED: Thursday, January 12, 2012

With any skin care or beauty product, the results vary on each individual. I was a skeptic until I had my first wrap and lost 4 inches within 6 hours. Referring to the ultimate body wrap. I think it is up to all individuals to know what charges are before becoming a Loyal Customer. There are no hidden fees or hidden truths. Before out right saying this product doesn't work, do some research and you will see that thousands of people have had great results that they are happy with. It may take more than one treatment to see any results or you may see them in as few as 45 minutes. The company continues to grow with distributors and mor important, customers. The fees in the original complaint are not accurate, upon further review. The company does NOT force individuals to buy their products. This is obviously a disgruntled customer that did not handle their cancellation properly. Had their been any question or concern the individual sales distributor should have been contacted to help.

Reselling something that does not work?

AUTHOR: sufloc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Why would you want to resell a product that does not work?

if one purchases a treadmill or bow flex and did not have any results because they did not use in the manner in which would bring about the results that the sells person/ad said it would have - you can easily take back to the store (in the allotted time frame) or sell at a garage sale.

However, If you own a company and you develop a marketing plan on how you want to sell the products and you have a sales force who agrees to market it according to that plan or a customer who agrees to purchase under the sales plan, its an experience or lesson learned. The results have been great for me with this product and I have dropped inches and so have several of my friends - basically its how I ended up purchasing because I noticed one getting smaller. The policies that I read when I became a loyal customer were clear and were very similar to cosmetic products that I purchased on TV. You commit to auto ships for 3 months and can drop out after. However with It Works I was told that I would be a loyal customer for life even if I ceased from using the product after the 3rd month and later came back 6 months later to purchase, I would still be able to get the product at the lower price whcih I think is the same price the distributors get it for.

If a product does not work for me, I would just stop using and count it as a loss or I would wonder and ask them "why it did not work for me"

Completely agree that It Works in breaking the law

AUTHOR: whodotheythinktheyare - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 30, 2011

This is the most accurate write-up I have seen on the It Works Marketing Scam. They sell you a product that may or may not work and then if it doesn't work, there is no way for you to sell it because It Works actively and aggressively (VERY AGGRESSIVELY) monitors all places online where you could potentially sell your unwanted wraps, and they will go to whatever extreme necessary to find out who you are and threaten you with a variety of negative actions. They are breaking the law. They cannot mandate to a consumer what that person does with things he has previously purchased. That would be like Coca Cola forcing all people to stop selling Coke memorabilia, or Baby Bjorn forcing people to stop selling their old baby carriers. It's absurd. Eventually, It Works marketing will be sued, and when they are, they will lose. And when they lose, I will laugh my head off.

POSTED: Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Consumer Beware -  However as an It Works customer the product does work and all of the rules, guidelines are clear and up front when becoming a customer.  The product works if you use it correctly and if you are serious about detoxing and looking to shed unwanted weight.   I have used the wraps and have dropped inches.  More importantly, the detoxing herbs in the product are much cheaper that expensive products that promise and do the same.  You sound very disgruntled over something more than for the product not working.  It would be quite upsetting If you signed on as a loyal customer and product kept coming month after month and you did not use the product and your account was charged.   Three months of use is what is actually needed for the best results however you do not HAVE to become a Loyal Customer if you do not want to.  You have the option to purchase the products at retail.  Becoming a Loyal Customer has allowed me to get the product for half the price.  Shipping charges....quite normal....who sends products for Free?

Giving Incorrect Information

AUTHOR: Angelheart87 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 10, 2011

For one, you can change the products at anytime. So you could have easily avoided the $50 by getting one of our cheaper products that are around $15 for the remaining auto ships. And the shipping is not $9 anymore. It is around $5. And you are still saving money because 4 wraps retail for $120 and Loyal Customers get it for $59 plus $5 shipping and $4 tax for a total of $68. That is still a huge savings.

Perhaps you should have tried a wrap before opting in for a commitment. Most commitments world wide have some kind of cancellation fee. Do not bash a business when you failed to read the fine print. And please do not give incorrect information.
